I agree - I watched it this morning and it nearly made me late for work.

Very cool! The characters were great! I would love to see a full length film one day. Where did you find this?

I agree. I hope they can build on this somehow. It was really, really good.

I don't think they need a full length film, actually. They told the story very well. Maybe a little more on Blue Blaze and perhaps some less-clunky exposition, but even then.

I think we can all agree that the story was told very well its just we want to see more!

I'd be interested in seeing other stories in this universe, yes, but it's not necessary to expand the length of the film for no reason.

i think i got it from a CBR link.  The filmmaker made it in order to graduate film school. I remember from the interview he stated how much he loved Grayson and Batman:Dead End, but siince they were made with licensed characters the original filmmakers couldn't really do anything with what they've done.
So I think the filmmaker for the League is implying that he created his own characters so he could build a future with them if the film went anywhere.

It might be a large stretch to say that they created their own characters...

Sparrow/Wraith is clearly a parallel to Robin/Nightwing, if not an actual rip-off of that character.

Blaze is ridiculously close to Green Lantern in many ways, and uses his powers to imitate a red speedster who sounds a lot like an evil Flash.

The Grey Raven is not so far off from a number of other gunslinging heroes.  I'd have to say he reminded me most of the Green Hornet.

The guy firing concussive beams of light from his chest... how is he not conceptually very similar to Cyclops?

The concept that really makes this stand out is the idea that a superhero union would inevitably become corrupt, self-serving, and self-defeating as they work themselves out of a job.

Even then, there are definite parallels between the superhero union and the registered superheroes of Marvel's universe.  Not as familiar with DC, so I don't know if there's a similar idea in that vein.

As a film-school project, it works very well and was extremely well done all things considered.  As the basis for a commercial venture, there's no way they could use at least two of those characters without either enduring a legal challenge or making significant changes so that they no longer appear to be rip-offs of the originals.
