'you say you need a leader, but you can't seem to make up your mind...'

anyone volunteer to take charge?  i personally can't, don't have the focus.
in addition to the other ideas in the other thread, i would like to put forth the idea of 'king of the ring'.   with everyone's avatar 'official', there could be pvp matches, with different weights according to character points.  the winners could get a belt on their avatar or signature.

Lunarman

I really like that King of the Ring idea. I think that mod would be faster to make and really loads of fun to play. Nice idea

Yes, it would be amazingly sweet, but who has the time to put this together? Somebody who actually knows how this'd work, and who isn't working on anything else at the moment.

If it does happen, though, I'm willing to play test for ballance issues.

UnkoMan

I've been thinking about this more. If somebody'd be willing to help me out if I made any mistakes, I would be willing to take the time to slough through imputting all the characters (and then changing what needs to be changed after play testing).

I've hardly really made built in characters before, but I'm sure I could get it eventually. I know how to install FX decently enough. I'm not much of a team leader, but I don't mind a bit of grunt work, and I've got a bit of time on my hands, now.

Is anybody else interested in setting up a giant avatar adding mod? Because I really think this is a smashing idea. I'd love to have one easily accessed area for all the avatars of Freedom Reborn. In addition, it'd be the perfect set up for people to make some minimods. No work or fuss. It'd be darn grand, is what.

The Hitman

I would. Man, I really would. I've thought about this for a while as well. The only problem... I only have FF1. Whe I get vTR, and if there's still some interest, I'd be more than happy to help out!

Lunarman

with m25's new tool this had just become much, much easier.

Kitt Basher

I really wish I could help with this ... I love the idea.

But, I am in the middle of a long delayed move and sadly I am running out of free time ...  if this is still in the works when I get done, I would love to jump on ...

Unko, no need for it to be too big of a chore, just have anyone who wants to participate send you a hero file, use Alex's EZHero to write them to your mod's .dat, and bam, most of your work is done.  As long as you set up a mesh folder in the same directory as the FF1 version, you don't even need to edit that.  You'd only really need to worry about weight and FX, and the latter could be made easier by requesting everyone use only EZFX.  I'd like to help, but as you know I've got my hands full.

Psst!
If you decided that you wanted to skin my avatar, I'd whip up a herofile for him! ^_^
UnkoMan
Oh my, guess what Benton... I actually started on him the other day. I've got the basics done, but the details are what take time.
Hmm... EZFX or they can send me whatever custom effects they've used (assuming they have credits and permission if they didn't make them). I don't mind installing some. I wouldn't want my av without the new FX I made for him.

Actually, I tried a test of m25's new character adder, and it worked great. I'm just curious about special attack types and other ffx3 things. I guess I'll just go ask him now, if it hasn't been asked already.

Soooo... I guess I'm ready to start? Do I need to do anything else to prepair or should I just start the call out?

BentonGrey

Haha, great Unko!  I can't wait!

Ohh, M25 has put out a new character add-in program?

UnkoMan

He certainly has:

Alright, well... if anybody else is looking at this topic... who wants to establish some ground rules? Personally I never balance characters by prestige. It's very easy to cheat that. I always balance via actual play testing. Still, my characters usually clock at 6000-10000 pts, unless they have some crazy defense power (or a cone now) which ends up costing a ton. Hmm... I think I will just make a new post, actually. But in the Forum-Wide Events board.
