I've been trying to move the fire FX from Firestorm and Firelord to a different mesh but it won't go over.  The branches will not copy over. Is this possible to do. I have been trying to move the Fire and Firespray NiNodes.

I can't tell you a short way, but I did it on my Annex_Skope.  I used the firespray from katma_tui by ink (from Qwazy's fine Fire Elemental).
I kept getting "xyz parent node not found error", so I just kept copying and pasting back until I ran out of parent nodes,  the firespray ended up on the top of the Lilandra staff/ trident weapon.  Looks great! And if I can do it, any1 can!  Let me know what meshes you're working with, and I will try to help out.  If I get it to work, I will post at my new google group Peerless1_Skopes.  You can take it from there... ;)

Note:  Another thing I have found is that some things don't paste right on the scene root, so I paste them directly on the node where I want them...by the way:

Thanks!  thinking about this just gave me a great idea for a skope I'm working on.   ^_^  :dmbbeer

I've gotten this to work before too.. it takes a few tries because each particle-emitting mesh is made differently in its formative Max stages.

I have one question first, are you using FF1 or FFvs3r?  Copying can only be done between compatible nif versions.

  • Some helpful settings to choose:
    View>Block List Options>List
    Render>Draw Nodes

  • First, rightclick>copy branch the NiNode called Emitter, Fire, Spray, or Sprayer (on Beyonder's Firestorm you can find it in Line 183)
  • In your target mesh, find the bone, or Bip that you want to emit particles.  Rightclick>paste onto that node.  you just put a sprayer on the target mesh that will emit the particles.

  • Now, re-position it two ways.  First, rightclick>transform the NiNode you just pasted.  Set all X,Y, and Z values to zero.  Do this with the NiTriShape Editable Mesh also, since this node can pull the sprayer around.

  • Next, you have to copy the particle system itself.  This is found on the first mesh as NiParticleSystem SuperSpray.  Rightclick>Copy branch.  Go to target mesh Scene Root, found near the top.  Rightclick, paste branch onto the Scene Root.  No need to reposition this one... but you can adjust the NiParticle GrowFade values, in the node right below the SuperSprayer.

  • Don't forget to clone the texture files of the Particles themselves to the new mesh's skins folder... and it should show up in Character tool.

Thanks Rev, I forgot a couple steps.  This should get it done.
