Okay guys and gals, this thread will be for weekly theme battles.  Every week, I'll pick a theme from those suggested in the previous week, and anyone who cares to participate can run matches in the rumble room that fall under that theme.  The only requirement will be that you take screen shots or videos and share them with the rest of us.  Ohh, and let us know how it turns out! ^_^  Also, please suggest a new theme with any contribution you make.  Thanks!

This week's theme is:  Classic Comic Fight!  Show us one of your favorite comic book fights!

Here's my contribution, the Flash's Rogues Gallery taking on Aquaman's Foes!

The Aqua Foes took every fight, but they were all VERY close, and for some reason Grodd's mental damage attack didn't work properly. Even despite that, he really caused havoc among them. Here's some pics:

http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/battle joined.jpg
The battle is joined in the quite streets of Central City.
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/elemental duel.jpg
The Scavenger and The Weather Wizard engage in an elemental duel of sound and electricity. Take a wild guess who won!
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/ocean master attacks.jpg
Ocean Master unleashes some of his magical power on an unfortunate Trickster.
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/send in the clones.jpg
Mirror Master sends in the clones, siccing his duplicates on the Aqua Foes.
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/captain boomerang.jpg
Captain Boomerang lines up a Razorang to save Captain Cold from the Shark.

Heat Wave and Weather Wizard did the most damage to the Foes, but Mirror Master probably gave them the biggest headaches with his duplicates. On the Aqua side, Ocean Master and the Shark were probably MVPs. The Shark kept the Rogues paniced whenever they got close to them, and Orm just blasted away at them with magic.

For more fun, I went ahead an ran a second match with a different set of villains who never get enough respect.  This time, I put the Aqua-Foes up against Hawkman's villains.  I know what you're thinking, "villains, plural?"  Yes, I searched high and low to find a good rogue's gallery for a lot of the heroes in my DCUG, and now you can enjoy some of that with this fight.  I'm going to try and do this one a bit more like a narrative:

Our rosters are= Hawkman: Airstryke, Gentleman Ghost, Shadow Thief, Tigress, and Toyman.  Aqua-Foes: Black Manta, Ocean Master, Scavenger, Fisherman, and The Shark.

http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/melee.jpg
The two teams clash in the streets while Toyman and Scavenger fire into the furball.
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/deathfromabove.jpg
The Foes fall back under their enemies superior air power, and Black Manta covers them.
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/mantabeating.jpg
Most of the villains paired off in independent duels, but Manta went after Toyman with a vengeance.  That's a good thing, because in the first match of this I ran, Toyman's summoned toys completely overwhelmed the Foes, even after they'd KOed most of his team.
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/ghostly.jpg
Each side was holding its own, but Gentleman Ghost and Shadow Thief were giving the Foes fits.  Finally, Ocean Master dropped the Shadow Thief with a lucky spell that got past his PD's, but the Ghost hung in there, really giving the Fisherman and the Scavenger a beating.
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fearless.jpg
Tigress, crazy woman that she is, went toe to toe with the Shark, and actually put the hurt on him for a while.  Her acid arrows took a toll on the foes, but eventually the Shark had her for lunch.
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/laservision.jpg
Manta turns the heat up on Toyman, but he lets him get too far away from him, and shortly....
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/overwhelmed.jpg
He finds himself overwhelmed by his "toys."  This is a bad sign for the Foes.
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/toyrobots.jpg
The Fisherman finds himself trapped like a dolphin in a tuna net....
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/flyingfisherman.jpg
And he goes down hard!
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/magicaloverpower.jpg
Ocean Master's magic proves more than a match for Ghost's spirit nature, but it's too little too late...
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/roastorm.jpg
Fricasseed fish-man anyone?

The Foes lost in the end, at least in part due to the fact that the AI of two of their number just up and quit during the fight.  At a certain point, both Scavenger and Fisherman just decided to stand around, ignoring their teammates' as they meet grizzly fates all around them.  Who survived?  Airstryke and Toyman.

I had the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants fight against The Sinister Six (+1)

Trouble is literally right around the corner.
Scarlet Witch puts up a fight.

The remaining Sinister Six gather up and attack.

Venom kills off Quickislver and Magneto brings the pain while Toad "licks" the competition. I couldn't resist.

Blob is laughing off one of the Sandman's attack.

The Brotherhood decide to avenge Quicksilver's death.

Sandman really put up a fight and he was the last of the of the Sinister 6 to drop. If it wasn't for the Blob, the Brotherhood would have been cut down to only Magneto. My favorite death was the Toad taking out Venom. Ol' Toad was helping out Blob fight Venom and it payed off. Toad landed a leaping kick and put the symbiotic psycho to rest. I wish I was able to take a capture of it, but I was too busy enjoying the fight.
USAgent

This is a cool idea Benton!  Of course I have to add my latest villain vs villain battle as well.
Captain American Villains: Red Skull, Crossbones, Zemo, and Batroc   vs   Ironman villains Melter, Spymaster, Ghost, and Living Laser.
Ghost Vanishes while Batroc kicks Spymaster in the back as a Melter heat blast nails him.

Batroc takes to fighting Melter one on one and knocks him out with tons of kicks.

Ghost gets a face full of Zemo's Adhesive X

Bones and Laser about to trade shots

Skull gets fried from Laser.
In the end Ironman villains were too much for Skull and crew they all went down and the only one that got K.O.ed on the other side was Melter from Batroc, Skull was the last one standing on his side (he should of used his dust of death more). Living Laser with his speed, teleporting, multiplying, and fast beams, Spymaster with his many ranged attacks and body armor and Ghost's intangability made it near impossible for Skull's team.

BentonGrey

Ohh, great match up LP!  I don't know how powerful your Magneto is though, 'cause I think mine could solo the Six.  That's a really cool mix of characters.  Who was the 7th member of the Six?  I'm surprised that Toad didn't get squashed by someone. ^_^  Great pics there too, nicely done!

I'm glad you like it USAgent, thanks to LP for helping me develop it!  You've got a cool mix there too, including three characters I'm not familiar with.  The only Ironman villain out of those that I know is the Melter.  I'm surprised the Cap villains went down like that, but I suppose Ironman is a more physically powerful opponent, so it makes sense that his villains would be a bit tougher too.  Yeah, those intangible characters are tough!

Hey guys, don't forget to suggest a new theme with each match you post!

I'll suggest:  Battle of the Sidekicks!

BentonGrey

Sorry for the double post, but the suggestions about making FF videos caused me to make this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UneksGcYWlw

Unfortunately, Youtube turns any video into instant pixelation, so it's not what it could have been....not that it was anything special to begin with.

wickerman

Just so no one thinks I forgot, i have a few screens of  a Sabertooth vs Bane fight I will post (prolly tomorrow).

Man did this fight NOT go down the way I thought it would!

BentonGrey

Awesome Wickerman!  Ohh, that sounds like a good fight.  My money would be on Sabertooth...I wonder if I'd take a loss?  Don't forget to post a theme for next week's fight!

laughing paradox

My vote for the next group of pictures should go to something like a reenactment of a classic comic book fight.

For example, the X-men vs Dark Phoenix. Masters of Evil vs The Avengers. The Authority vs the Gammora Soldiers. The options are endless.

USAgent

I got a sidekick rumble session that I did, and let me tell ya....for some reason I drew a complete blank when it came to side kicks, I couldnt think of anybody!
So here is what I came up with.

Nomad (Cap's sidekick) Pip the troll (Adam Warlock), Toro (human torch), Vagabond (Cap again), Bucky (and Cap once more)

Verses

Nightwing and Robin (Batman), Speedy (Green Arrow), Harley (Joker), Impulse (Flash)

Nightwing cracks Nomad in the jaw, and Robin looks to be ablaze

Pip did a good job of teleporting in close to Speedy to make him use his fists instead of his barrage of arrows, Harley gets a few shots off on the Marvel guys

Bucky whips a combat knife at a fleeing Robin

Bucky tries to get in a ranged fight with Speedy???  This is a cool shot because it looks like Speedy shot a arrow right in Bucky's throwing arm.

Speedy ends up kissing dirt while Harley is either helping or hindering Nightwing.

In which Toro takes her out of the equation all togeather

I ran this battle 3 times and Marvel won 2 out of 3 times with Toro being the main factor on Marvel's side and Speedy being the factor on DC's side, Vagabond and Impulse were just fodder in the battles which makes me want to adjust Impulse's hero file a little.

wickerman

sorry this is so late.

I went with Sabretooth vs Bane for my villain v. villain fight.  I was kind of shocked at how quick and dirty these came off - i definitely need to do some hero file tweaking.  It really came down to flurry vs flurry and dodging made the difference.  I think I had these guys laying out WAYYY  too much damage per shot.  I actually ran this MANY times.  Here are some of the shots:

The Apollo Creed/Rocky shot from round one.

the ultimate result of round one.  A quick shot of VENOM pretty much turned this to Bane's favor

Bane opened up early in round 2 as well, with a quick stun and a right hook that would stop traffic

Sabertooth was not going to be denied though.  Healing factor and superior agility started to make a difference.

Round 3 was a quick flurry by Sabertooth that made Bane freak out from the get go.  Unfortunately for him, 'Tooth never let up and gave him a chance.

All in all, I ran this about 10 times.  Saber took it 8 of 10.  Bane was just outclassed in the speed department and couldn't land enough hits in a row.  Unless he was pumped up on VENOM, he didn't do enough damage to keep the combination of healing and dodging from bringing Creed back from the edge.

Like i said, I definitely need to adjust some things, these fighst were quick and dirty to say the least.

As for next week, I like the classic fights idea.  I was thinking of the X-men blue team from the X-Men launch under claremont vs Magneto myself.

BentonGrey

Haha, well, looks like we've got some confusion.  USAgent took my suggestion to be the theme, while we have another suggestion.  We can either go ahead and go with the theme USAgent has embraced, or we can just let his post be an (awesome) odd man out.  What do y'all want to do?  The next round will officially start tomorrow....ish...as I'm still finishing stuff.

As for the latest two posts:

USAgent!  Man, this is why I was excited about this.  I see characters that I would normally never even think about and skins I didn't even know existed.  That seems like a great fight, and you've got some really dynamite pics there!  I especially like the one with Speedy skewering poor Bucky.  I have to say, I'm surprised at who were the major players...well, not so much about Toro, I figured he'd own a lot of the others, but I'm surprised that Impulse didn't do more.  When you gave me the line up, I was like, ohh, Nomad and Bucky are going down fast if Impulse is in the mix!  (I don't know anything about Vagabond)  I like that you've got your sidekicks grouped with single characters, that's something I hadn't thought about.

Wickerman, great pics man!  Yeah, with characters like Bane and Sabertooth, who aren't inherently invulnerable, but who do TONS of damage, things can go pretty quickly.  I figured that Sabertooth would take Bane down, those claws can do some damage!  You've got some pretty cool pics there as well.  I like the one with the two of them trading punches.  Ohh, and don't worry about "late" this isn't class or anything, I'm just glad you wanted to take part!  Submissions are always welcome man.

Panther_Gunn

I think we should just go ahead with the Sidekicks theme for the new week, this time around.  I may or may not have something for that one.

I do have a posting for the Villains theme, but as it took *forever* to run and get pics from, and I've got a lot of cutting, pasting, and organizing to do, it may take a day or two.  I promise a body count, and even individual scores.  ;)

Well on Impulses behalf, the reason he went down pretty quick was because at the start of the fight both teams were at each end of the map and Impulse was always the first DC guy to confront the Marvel guys, so he had to take on the whole team while the rest of his were still running to the battle. Vagabond on the other hand is a weak character, she is just acrobatic with a couple melee moves, nothing special at all, but I just couldnt think of anyone else (plus she is one of my old skins I did :D)

I also love to see how others represent their characters and is cool seeing what skins/meshes you all use, I'm already thinking about hitting you guys up on some of those meshes I'm seeing! Plus this thread gives me a reason to fire up FFV3R and have some fun!

laughing paradox

So this week's theme seems to be Sidekicks and I'm all for it. I dig USAgent's group of pics and I tried to figure out who I had that would be considered sidekicks. This inspired me to pit two characters against each other who also have come into their own right: Jubilee and Batgirl.

Let's fight!
Jubilee and Batgirl faced each other down on the mean streets of...wherever they are. They each attacked simultaneously.

Jubilee got a quick lead, blasting Batgirl with a good amount of plasmoids.

Batgirl fights back with a batarang but she was at an early disadvantage.

Jubilee keeps delivering the pain.

Jubilee tried to run away to lose Batgirl but she got stuck in an alley. Uh-oh.

Batgirl swings down and knocks Jubilee out, showing her who's boss.

It was a fun match and I had no doubt that Batgirl would eventually win, though it really did come close.
BentonGrey

Alrighty guys, looks like I'm a little late for round two, huh?  First off, great pics LP!  You managed to get some pretty awesome action shots.  I love that first one with the fireworks all around Batgirl.  Still, my favorite is the shot of Batgirl on top of the building, looking down on Jubilee.  Man, you couldn't have planned that more perfectly.

Here's my contribution to the theme....and I cheated a bit.  Haha, I decided that, since I only had a half a dozen or so sidekicks in the DCUG (I really need to add Wondergirl), I'd bend the rules a bit.  So, I pitted the classic Teen Titans against the New TT!

It was a pretty good fight:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQEYdKzzYeo

The two teams clashed, and Beast Boy went down FAST!  He should have shifted into one of his stronger forms, but you know the AI...anyway, Raven and Cyborg pretty much carried the day for the NTT's, Cyborg by playing the tank, and Raven by using her TK and buffing/altering powers to good advantage.  Aqualad and Kid Flash were the only ones who could go blow for blow with Vic, but Aqualad took a beating from his finger laser (weakness to heat, ya' know).  Robin squared off with his some time gal-pal, Starfire, and he took a pretty good toll on her, but between he starbolts, Raven's TK, and a badly placed explosive barrel, he went down.  I was mildly surprised at the ending.

I swear, I had no idea it would be this huge when I started.  And since everyone else seems to have forgotten, my suggestion for the coming week's theme:  Animals (name, powers, or some other relation).

doctorchallenger

Awesome work PG! It's nice to see the wide variety of meshes and skins too!

BentonGrey

Freakin' awesome PG!  Man, you really went all out!  I think I can give you a "pass" on being late, because it was obviously worth it. ^_^

A really great fight, and a great assortment of villains!  You even had one I had to look up, but now I know who Darkoth is.  It was definitely cool to see all of your skins and meshes, and I saw a couple that I didn't know existed.  I have to say, I was surprised more than once along the way.  Great job man!

I like your suggestion PG, and I'll add that to the list, but I think this week will be "Classic Comic Fights."

USAgent

That was a great battle Panther and cool captions to go along with the screenshots, Wow 24 scren shots!  And I thought I was taking too many.  I kinda thought Ultron was gonna wind up fighting Juggy with his indestructable armor and numorous weapons to destroy the "fleshy ones", or maybe Validus, but the Executioner is a one tough dude as well!

Not sure I you knew it or not but C6 has updated skins for the Wrecking crew, and I cant believe someone actually is using my Lizard skin

As for the next fight I already started my Classic Comic fights battles, but I was also gonna make the suggestion of a animal type battle as well, having either animal characters or characters based of animals (Batman, Rhino, ect) fight it out.

Previsionary

Here ya go, BG. You can't say I didnt try to support this idea...now pay me. :P

Anyway, since I have a whole mod based on some classic battles, I decided to do a rumble room version of one of my favorite battles in that mod via watch mode and here are the results in condensed form:

The battle promptly starts, as they stare at nothing in particular very intently, and magneto quickly gets the upper hand with the use of his magnetism. However, that's quickly negated by Iceman. Mags can't focus his powers if he's falling down, right?

The X-men quickly descend upon their fallen foe, but Magneto still gives them a fight. The X-men have the upper hand, but once Magneto is on stable ground, he's able to force them all back before iceman has him on his butt again.

Magneto uses his smarts and begins to utilize the ice wall to his advantage, effectively splitting up the team and keeping Jean at bay. Iceman is effectively sent into an explosive crate and he, along with his field leader, end up behind a particularly large barrier where they both go down. Iceman does manage to keep Mag off his feet long enough for beast to lay a beatdown

Magneto quickly discards of Angel and runs off to handle his biggest foe, Jean Grey. Beast intercepts, while Magneto is lifting a truck, and with much effort, Jean manages to deflect the truck back at Magneto...but at what cost?!

The truck explodes and everyone seems doomed! Or are they?!

laughing paradox

Great stuff.

Panther_Gunn, your selection of characters was great and the way you followed the characters. I was rooting for Executioner the whole time, actually. Good ol' Skurge.

Prev, I dig that style you rendered the images. It's got that comic feel and I like where you left it off. Great epic comic fight.

I'll be rocking my classic comic fight soon enough, then I'd say the animal concept should be right after that. I like that idea a lot.

BentonGrey

Haha, here's your no-prize Prev!  Great shots there, you're comic style missions are WAY perfect for this venue. ^_^  I like that Mags actually managed to pull out a win against the X-Men, but you had your Magneto set up to be incredibly powerful, so that's pretty awesome.

LP, I was actually rooting for Validus throughout, and I was surprised when he dropped.  What really surprised me though, is that Deathstroke, who is mostly just a normal human, survived with all those heavy weights!

I like the animal idea, we can do that next week.  Ohh, and the wife and I are driving down to the coast to visit my family for Christmas.  We're leaving Wednesday, and we'll be back after new years, so y'all will have to fend for yourselves for a week and a half.

YoungHeros

Is it "classic comic fight" now?? ^_^

BentonGrey

Lunarman

Right, I'm gonna do one too

YoungHeros

Lunarman

Well, it's not using classic characters (but I don't have any of those, lol) but it's a classic face off between a team and their arch enemy!
