I am still kicking it old school but I am tempted to upgrade to FFVTTR because of all the wonderful skins and meshes that I see. Plus I would like to play benton's DC mod. How hard is it to convert the characters, maps, EZFX and FFX that I have collected from FF1 to FFVTTR and what do I need to do?

Well...Many :ff: meshes still work in  :ffvstr: , even without being converted...Many of the FX from FFX for :ff: are still included with the wonderful FFX3 for the second game.  Many maps were converted already for the second game too (I'm even making several new maps for it)...Some by Renegade and many were converted and added to Googles Pizanno's map pack....Links below...

Most content for  :ffvstr: is marked and I think you'll find the content for the second game has grown and is still growing and it may match and perhaps even surpass the content of the original.

Best.

Just for clarification about the Mappack.
I converted all the FF1 maps I could, provided I could get permission from the original authors.
So it includes all stock maps from the first game along with about 85-90% of the maps from FXForce (as well as a few fringe and unreleased ones from various places).

The one thing my pack does include regardless of whether you are looking for the maps or not is almost all of the FF1 objects with bounding boxes added to work in FFvTR. So even if you don't want to use the maps, or just want content to use for you own purposes, that could prove to be a time saver.

Bevo has pointed me to the EZnif converter from Alex and wow it is EZ. What about Alex's EZhero and EZFX, the character tool and mesh editor? Do they work in FFvTTR too or do I need to get another version?

The current version of EZHero works with both games. I'm still hoping for a FFv3R versio of EZFX.

JLAfan2001

Which current version of EZhero would that be? If EZFX doesn't work for FFvTTR, is everyone installing their FX one at time? Do the FX on FXforce work for FFvTTR without any conversions? Does character tool and mesh editor work for both versions of FF. I was also wondering if EZscript is just for FFvTTR or for FF1 too. So many questions. I am just afraid of losing anything that I have collected if I make the switch. All these programs that members have made enhance FF and I want to make sure that they can be brought over.

*wonders why he even bothered with the tutorial thread ^^*

EZhero-3.2.

EZFX- 6.0 is for ffvttr, otherwise, manually install

FX- yes

Editor/Tool- No. They came out with FFVTTR tools a long time ago.

Ezscript- FFVTTR only.

Collection- Most meshes, all skins, most fx, most maps, and w/e else work fine in FFVTTR. THey made the game compatible.

Can anyone recommend a site to download nifscope and EZscript from?

GogglesPizanno

EZScript is part of FFX:

Nifskope can be downloaded here (along with nif plug-ins for various 3D programs):

DOH!!! I knew that EZscript was part of FFX but I somehow forgot. Thanks for the links, Goggles.
