Long before the Big Wipe, Zapow started a thread called 'Ring the Bell'. He got the idea from the sign you see in Long John Silver's which reads 'If we did well, Ring the bell'.
The purpose of the thread is if someone did something nice, or appricated, you gave them a 'ring of the bell' to show everyone what a spiffy person they are.
I feel that it is only right that the first new ring of the bell be for our forum's overlord & master, Randy. Not only does he do all of the hard work around here, but he was all over this like DMB on a stack of waffles smothered in beer, and got things taken care of *before* there was a problem. I'm sure we all remember the pains of the last crashes/reboots, but this went about as smooth as anyone could ask for. Factor that in with the fact that I'm a rather cranky individual & have never been one for frivolous congratulations & glad-handing, I think this is one well deserved
RING-A-DING!!!
I also would join in the bell-ringing on Randy's behalf for all his sterling work, but i fear my fingers have been smashed in an unfortunate Sharkman-related incident.
I'm a long goner, but I miss this place.
Life can carry you the way you never expected.
So I ring the bell ONCE. For everyone here.
For being yourself, and still be here.
i want to say thank you to all the Titans who have kept this place alive for so many years. and to the mods, and admins who helped keep it running and safe.
also, to all the contributors, and to all the friends i have made here.
after so long, so many years, i can't imagine a world without all of you ppl.
I second that bearded!
I think there are certain Titans who know I am eternally in their debt for keeping this place alive as well as hosting my work when I was a poor college student. I just wanted to publicly say "Thank you".
Here's to everyone, Titans, Admins, Mods and members who made the place what it was and gave us a sort of home for the Freedom force community for so long.
It's been appreciated.
*ding*
Amen! Thank y'all so much for everything you have done and continue to do. This place has meant the world to me.
Thank you all for giving me a place to feel happy coming to for NINE YEARS!!!!!! ;)
Thanks to the good folks who've kept this thing going...Thanks to all the doubters, haters and trouble-makers who've come and gone...cause we're still here. Thanks to my fellow Titans that I haven't always agreed with but always respected! This is a strong community with good people...I'm most thankfull for that. RING THAT BELL!!!
DONG
you know what i guys think of you
*bows head*
Just wanted to give huge ring of the bell for the entire community, just for existing, and for the moderators, administrators, and Titans for everything they've done. I'm not all that active here these days, but I still think this is the single best on-line community I've ever seen.
A big Ring-a-ding ding for the admins, mods and titans that have kept this place ticking over all this time. Some of the things you've had to put up with... /shakes head/
And another ring of the bell for the rest of you, just for being you! :D
(Honestly that last bit was meant with earnestness...)
Ring-a-Ding Ding to all those who keep this site alive and going. And to all the people who post their ideas opinions and artwork. While I may not have been the most vocal over the years, I have enjoyed it all. Hope to see many more years out of you all.
Salute!

Rings for everyone who's contributed to this forum over the years, whether it's with top-notch creative talent or being awesome members of the community.
I also want to ring the bell and thank everyone here. I haven't been active for a long time, but still come here and browse threads every day. And when I needed friends recently with the "Show off your pets" thread, the immediate and numerous responses helped me more than I expected. This is an awesome community of people and I'm so very thankful to have been a part of it.
Thanks to the mods, Admins, Titans, and the entire FR community. You've given me (and my little girl) years of fun with all the meshes, skins, FX, maps, and mods the creative minds at Freedom Reborn have cooked up.
Please don't let it die because of the recent events. We're still here and still enjoying FF. This is a great community.
*KLANG*
Sorry, I think using a sledgehammer to ring it was a bad idea... *rubs his ears*..
I would like to thank all of the people who have keep FR running and the community at large for becoming part of my online family. There are many of you who I consider close friends even thou I only talk with them here in PMs and the threads.
While a storm is showing rough waters ahead... I'm sure that we can ride thru it and emerge on the other side to pull things back together. Hopefully it's just a brief thunderhead and not a gigantic hurricane..
This is a great community and has helped me over the many years I have been here... plus encouraged me to add to it in my own way.

What's wrong with the sledgehammer, huh? I like it, anyway... :P
Anyway, *KLANG* to all of you. Thanks to every contributor during these wonderful years: those who skinned, those who meshed, those who mapped, those who voiced their opinions, those who just came by to say hello. Even those like myself, who weren't so skilled and creative and had to polish their sound editing techniques in order to give a little something in return for this amazing community. All of you made this a fantastic place to be a part of.
I also think we will pass this turmoil, and happier times will come. I'm looking forward to hearing from all of you for many, many more years. And at Freedom Reborn, that is! :D
Positive attitude, now and always...
A ring to everyone who has made this place a worthwhile place to be and hopefully will continue to be.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this site and helps keep it enjoyable. Even with the occasional bad apples, flame wars, virus plagues and lawyer invasions, it's still an amazing community. I hope we can keep it alive.
Cheers!
For everyone who makes this place great, this one's for you!!
*Ding!*
Just wanna ring for everybody. All of you people are awesome. =)
*ding*
I apologize for having to circumvent a couple of things to do this but, I felt it was somewhat necessary.
*BONG*
I am ringing the bell for all of you here. The last day or so I have been looking over the place with fond memories and some not so fond.
It was here that began my online gaming life, well not quite here but this is the first place that I put blood, sweat, and tears into along with the rest of the Titans. I had to turn my back on it for a long long time and I have to say I don't regret doing that but I do regret losing contact with quite a few of you.
This group had my back on more than a few occasions and then life dealt a blow which really changed my entire life. During that change I came to realize that this long standing community may be dysfunctional at times but it is a family and the things you all have done here are quite simply, amazing.
While I can't post under my original name, it's cool, I just wanted to say thank you to all of those people who have kept the doors open here and especially to all of those that gave me a kindness that I can never ever repay.
So I ring the bell for you guys and I also apologize to those that were caught in the backwash of my life's tailspin. There was no excuse for my anger and resentment towards a few people here and for that I certainly am sorry.
Keep up the great work people.
(BTW, a special thanks to Tomato. Amazing job!)
See you all again someday.
Regards...
Thanatoros...aka Hellscorp the Reborn.
*click, click, click*
I think my clapper is broke, but I would like to give a ring to all those guys who patiently deal with dumb questions from newbies while maintaining a friendly attitude.
Thank you Stumpy for the work around!
*DING*
Thanks indeed!
Thanks, guys. But the bell really gets a well-deserved ring for randyripoff for dealing with the signature problem in a far more substantial way. Thanks, Randy!
Yay! Big, BIG bell ring for Randy, as well as for Stumpy and anyone else, official mod or otherwise, who helped fix the problem, devise a workaround, or inform others of what was going on!
Huzzah!
DING DING!!
A huge BONG to Mr. Randy Ripoff and Stumpy for fixing the problems with the forum. :)
And one more *RING* for Randy!
For another year of continuing content and keeping people interested in the best Super-Hero RPG around and for all of the great artists and friends here at FR and for one of the best online communities around a very hearty thank you and best wishes for the season and the coming year.
<rings bell vigorously for 10 minutes>
A big ring-a-ding to Stumpy, Glitch Girl and Randy for getting FR back up and running! Thanks guys!

I agree and a ring-a-ding to Tomato, Benton and everyone who helped us to have a shelter in ToF when we were homeless.
Echoing Zapow and John Jr. – a BIG thank you for all the work, everybody!
(Even if I suspect that the whole plot was a supervillain team-up between His Evil Mastermindness the Randy and the garden-grown gangster Tomato, who probably created a clone of Glitch Girl to use her glitchy aura.Stumpy, Benton and a few other probably played a role in all this, but I couldn't get my hands on every issue of the FR/ToF crossover event.)

Just wait for the graphic novel edition,
Crisis on Infinite Forums! The first issue will be "Who Is the Anti-Moderator?"
Big ring, again, for everyone who helped us through and past this.
Yes, a big thank you to all you for bringing this place back, and giving us ToF in the interim!
A big ring to Stumpy for his help, both technically and financially! You deserve it!
Ring ring! Seconded!
Ring-a-Ding-Ding indeed!
A GIGANTIC ring to Randy, GG, and Stumpy, for all the hard work- and also for Tomato and the ToF crowd!
I'd like to ring a whole belfry for everyone who had a hand in bringing FR back and also for Tomato and the others who gave us a place to keep the hope alive!
I know I've been the focus of the ringing here for ToF's creation, but I'd like to ring the bell for the other ToF admins who haven't really gotten credit for the work they put in.
TUE- for helping me set up the boards in the first place, and for helping me fix stuff whenever I was away from my computer.
Benton- For being the voice of reason (mostly... he wanted to eat some faces after the CB incident) among us crazy elitist skinner people.
Murs- for making even the most annoying, awkward, and frustrating situations seem trivial and silly in perspective... usually by peeing on things or "derka"ing a thread.
Ding ding ding!
And a big THANK YOU to all of you... all of you are awesome :)
ring and ding for all the peeple who helped get fr back in running order. thanks all.
*clank*
Wait, that's not a bell. It's a frying pan.
Anyhow, I'm glad people still stick around, even if I don't. Always something nice to come back to.
Ding!
Ringing the bell for Grenadier, who gave us an awesome 45 new meshes
Thank you for all your time and effort Gren
I like the new buttons! Ding!
*Derka Derka Derka*
Ack...Murs has been futzing with my bell!! Anyways, a ring out to GG, MikeB7, and Randy!!

Murs did what with your bell? What... an improper lady he is.
Hmm, this odd feeling of niceness came over me. I shall explore this.
RING-A-DING to the following people:
- The Beyonder for finally following up on his promise to return to life ten years after he made such promise. :P
- Mursy for being my creative equal.
- The Ultimate Evil for taking and putting out such awesome photos (http://deanirvine.wordpress.com/) that you all should be looking at.
- Middy for being my writing equal and keeping my spirits in pretty good shape.
- Glitch Girl for introducing me to a horrible time sink and not glitch auraing me... yet... this year.
- Cmdrkoenig for the fun talks mixed with driving me insane. You know you do.
- Vampy for being my sarcastic equal... or as equal as he can possibly muster to be... so not necessarily my equal... but an okay sparrer.. on my bad days.
- Deathjester for doing a project for me while maintaining our long running rivalry
- Ow_Tiobe for the amusement he brings me with each post I read.
- Podmark just because I will destroy him. I mean, he's Canadian, shot a missile at me, and started a war, so one of these days, I will eventually rend this clone! But only after he sends me that Highlight. Get on that, partner.
- AA for randomly inspiring me enough to want to try starting a new project despite my reservations.
- Hitman cuz of our comic talks in the past and our occasional talks as of nowish.
- Chuckles for being my persistent beta reader and confusing me with his chuckle-cisms.
- John Jr. for jumping right into coding and providing FRP with many a mod.
- Goggles for being so quirky that he readily accepts that he's an ex-pop star named Shirley who was once a sheep herder.
- Stumpy for the coding help he's given me in the past, which proved to be very beneficial.
- Bentonami Greyson for providing me with many, many a running joke. Bless you, Aquadork
- MikeB7 for not only keeping FXForce active but saving FRP1 for many years after he quit the game.
And that's about it. Don't get used to this. I'm a villain. Nice things don't flow from me easily. Obviously.
Well I ring the bell for previsionary/premonitioner, for really testing my ability to love and tolerate more than anypony else on the boards.

Also, let me give the bell a ring for CmdrKoenig, who's map making skills continually leave me in awe. He's been incredibly generous with his contributions to my projects, despite having tons of his own work to worry about. *Ring Ring*
Oh goodness, why are people ringing bells for me? Thank you guys, I'm honored.
Ring-ding-ding for Previsionary/Premonitioner, Benton Grey and John Jr...Three great guys who are very encouraging and amazing Modders...I hope to be as good as them when I grow up. A bing and a bong for M25 and Goggles Pizanno for their assistance in my efforts to mod...And a bang on that gong for OW_Tiobe_SB for his wonderful mod music. A tolling of the bell for Style, who helped me immensely in my Skoping efforts.
A few more tolls of the bell for Glitch Girl, Stumpy, Randy, MikeB7 and any others who keeps this place up and running.
Love to all of you (even Prev :D)...Am I supposed to ring the bell that many times?
Dana
Thanks Dana, I'm always happy to help modders, and I can't wait to play the mods you're working on! Also, you reminded me of something:
A big ring for Tiobe, who has made quite a lot of amazing music for my mods!
I'm ringing the bell for SickAlice!
Man has that dude been on a roll!
So many releases lately!
Great job!
Ringing the bell for Sick Alice also, He's given us some awesome new meshes to play with
I can't believe I've never seen this thread before, great concept.
I'll add to the list of guys ringing the bell for SickAlice, but I've got to ring it for Daglob as well, he is a lean, mean skinning machine!
Ring a ding for Sick Alice, Windblown, Daglob and Grenadier, for their incredible gifts to the community in the last weeks. And to Cyber Burn, for all his efforts to keep our "history" alive, sharing a lot of older content.
Take a bow, gentlemen.

Also, a big thanks to Cyber and Sioux City Dynamo for helping folks get their own avatars. Seriously, thank you guys so much!
Ring of the bell for everybody on this board today. It took over my life for years and was tremendously influential and helpful. It's heartwarming and encouraging to see this place live on.
Ditto what Uncle Mikey said.
Thirded. I love this little oasis on the internet. Y'all have helped me get through some tough times. Thank you.
Thank you. And a ring back out to anyone and everyone else. Any content I can provide is only an extension of what's been provided for me and what I've been taught by others to do. And equally just for this and everyone being here and how it's helped fill a void on my own side of the world.
Ring for everyone again. I come back so much now and you all give me so much in turn. Just by being cool really. I'm struggling with a lot and can say this feels like coming home to family on a holiday but more so when I was a child and they we're still living. Also as far as internet is concerned. There are other nice places to be online and I firmly think any social network can be pleasing if managed right, but this forum just lacks the disrespect found in many others. Even when debates break out they don't cross that nasty line and everyone here seems to practice an elegance. I love actually bragging about the people here. Thank you all for being totally awesome and more for being so talented and inspirational. Every one of you brings some kind of great yet modest skill to the table and everyone, and this is what's inspirational, has a knack for challenging themselves and adapting to learning new things. It puts a smile on my face when I see someone who was confused about something and more maybe saying they "couldn't" in less than a years time doing it like it's second nature, that and how kindly everyone lifts another up as opposed to place that say " Google it " to noobs. Yeah I could rant a page away on this. Freedom Force Forever!
Right back at ya, SA :D
Always glad to see you around and I hope that whatever struggles you're going through don't last much longer. If you ever need an ear to listen, I'm only a pm away :)

Piggy Backing on Sick Alice here, serious RING for the community. It is filled with some of the kindest people i have ever known. I was made to feel welcome here a long long time ago, and watch in awe as new people still trickle in, and are accepted just the same. Thanks guys, really, just thank you all so much.
it as really cheerful to see you all guys that have kept this platform still alive since day one.
Ringing for daglob today, in all sincerity the guy is dealing with a heap himself yet still manages to rise above it for both his family and to put his heart into this community for the communities sake. Hardship is telling but more what better version of themselves a person seeks while enduring it. Here, here.
Hear hear!
Thank you, but these days we all have trials and tribulations to confront. Ring that bell for ALL of us.
Nah you get a special one for you and for this place. Everyone has it bad but some have it worse. Like everyone is going through choppy water but some are in a boat with an outboard motor and some are in a canoe. Like currently I'm doing well, healthwise, financially and coping with quarantine and I never got infected. Likewise I've had C before on the tailbone. I know what you're dealing with and you're attitude here shows a lot of strength of character, one might call it heroic. Add in spite of whatever you're dealing with you always find time to come on this forum and spread positive ways to generate interest and energy into this community and the game. So the gold star is yours today friend.
Is this where we mention birthdays? Because our own Bearded One is sheltering in place in his Lair on this special day. :yipee
Ringing for Abenavides. He's been doing a lot of great work lately, which was just what I needed to get back into FF!
Also, thanks for keeping the site up for all these years. As someone who grew up playing this game, it means a lot.
Seconded! Alex has really been doing great stuff!
Hello all.
Some of you know me, some of you don't. I have been mainly silent throughout these past several months, dealing with rl issues of all sorts during these trying times of ours and I wish to ring the bell for all of you who have been going through your own trials and tribulations, coping or trying to cope with the insane state of things either where you are or to someone you know. We are indeed a community of diverse people from all walks of life, from all over the world, who all share a love for this game and sharing our various contributions for others to enjoy and in a lot of cases, learn from, paving the way for future fans to enjoy as we all have. I tip my glass to each and every one of you for all that you have done, large and small to make this place what it is. My thoughts are and have been with each and every one of you in these trying times, wishing all of you the best, wherever you may be.

Well said, Or! Hear hear!
Thanks for the mention (er... bell ring) guys!
And OR, great post and here's a ring for everyone out there in the FF community, past and present.
May better days lie ahead.
I'm going to throw out a big RING for Stumpy, for harassing whoever he needed to get the board back online again.
HUZZAH!

HURRAY!!! :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :yipee :yipee :yipee :yipee :yipee
That was more of an adventure than I thought it was going to be. Every roadblock seemed to have 20 things to try before hitting the correct approach. :banghead:
But, we are up again, on a new host, running a current version PHP and our forum software is the latest edition (which wasn't possible on the old host).
I appreciate everyone's patience for the long delay in getting us back up. There may still be a little tweaking to do. But, I think we are pretty much fully functional as we head toward 2021. :D
For Freedom!!!
Hoooray! I'm so glad FR is back! I've missed it (and all of y'all!) so very. Of COURSE things took longer than they should have. How could 2020 have been otherwise. Thanks to you, Stumpy, and GG, for staying with it and getting it done!

BELL RING INDEED! Thank you guys for your dedication to keeping this community up and running!
I'm not usually the most serious of people, but I want to take a moment of seriousness right now.
A well deserved RING of the bell to Daglob!
He has helped me by finding alot of the Avatar skins and meshes of folks that are no longer on the boards. Alot of them were folks I used to communicate with on a daily basis until situations occurred that I wasn't able to anymore. And now, after finding my way back, this has been (So far) the only touchstone to former friends that I have.
I know I have said it in PMs, but I wanted to give you a public acknowledgement for all of your help. As sappy as it may sound, you have no idea how much something as simple as getting to look at something like that has helped me through recent hard times. And this is with Daglob facing his own hard road he is journeying on.
Thank you sir!
Many people here need a bell ring h 24 for all the effort and the constant love they put in this "place" we share something of our past, the old comic books the old cartoons the paper pages... I think to the passion of Daglob for make an example above all, but also to that one of Benton grey mixed with a great constance, i think to CyberBurn always tryng help...the world was different when :ff: cames out , just to say thank you to everyone for let this little ray of a sunset light still shine this days.
Seconded! DING DONG FOR GLOB!!!
Edit: Didn't realize there was another page! haha Benton and Cyber have always been very helpful. DING DONG FOR BENTON AND CYBER!
A sad bell ringing probably now, but still i want ring it again for our lost Heroes, to be honest the work they have done have warmed the hearts of us for such long time that we think they will never leave, i hope the best for this little community .
I want to give a ring of the bell out to the majority of the wonderful people of this community, past, present, and future.
And some sappy, syrupy, and mushy words of advice. Time is a fleeting thing, as is life. None of us know what the next day will bring. We have seen it here with the passing of beloved forum members, both recently and in the past. And in our real lives as well.
Be sure to tell those close to you family and friends both how much they mean to you.
Kudos to Glitch Girl, who set us up with an SSL certificate. That should mean that we are live in the modern https: world. I know that we don't do e-commerce here on FR, but I am liking that little security lock icon next to our URLs. And, it should be a positive step for the continues health and security of the board.
Thank you GG!!!
For the record, I'll say stumpy too. You both deserve credit for getting the board back up and running. Ring Ring.
Thank you, GG and Stumpy! Your work is much appreciated.
