I was bored waiting for Generations to DL, so I put these together. Originally was gonna do Prem/v instead of AA (because I know he'd hate it), but I couldn't find a proper reference so I did AA's instead, since he has such a nifty avatar design.
Initial bases were put together with the Pony Creator (http://generalzoi.deviantart.com/art/MLP-FiM-Pony-Creator-Beta-210228500) by General Zoi, rest was custom vector work. Fun times.
Edit: adding all completed Ponifications here as well.
Edit 2: Organizing the ponies under spoiler tags so they don't all take up the entire screen at once.
Edit 3: Redoing the organization. Sorting avatars by name now, and adding new ponies.

I pony rolled him in PM and he pretended not to see it, unless he actually saw the message via email before he opened it. But I hosted the image at a different address so it couldn't have been blocked.

K, this might be giving too much away about the inner workings of FR, but I just wanted to let everyone know that someone (*cough*me*cough*) started a vote several weeks ago as to whether or not we should submit to Pony domination. -So, this one has stumped me for awhile... I knew as soon as I saw AA's fantastic Podmark skin I wanted to pay homage to it, but the trenchcoat, a key component of the design, kept giving me pause... the way the pony creator is set up, to add a coat would hide pretty much any detail I wanted to add. I've been wrestling with it since before I made Unko-Man, trying to think of a way to make the coat into some bizarre saddle thing and looking up all the official MLP art to find something to give me inspiration... finally, I just said ef it, sat down, made this up, and I'm quite happy with it, so there.

So, pretty much as a direct result of having 6 cans of mountain dew in my system (I'm getting to the point I'm pretty sure I'll be seeing sounds soon. That'd be awesome!) I've gotten this crazy notion in my head... I'll probably drop it by tomorrow, but for now I'm gonna talk about it because I can, and because I'm bored enough that this is the discussion I wish to have.
Ok, so... one of the main plot points in FiM is that the Mane 6 personify each of the 6 Elements of Harmony, the show's equivalent of a Deus Ex Machina (for serious. They turned Q... I mean, Discord, into stone using those things.) And well... I got it in my head that we should assign our own Elements of Harmony here. In a way, it's about who represents the best qualities to have in a friend, rather than who can do the best artwork.
If this goes forward (it's mostly up to you... no telling how I'll feel after dew crash) I'll go into each of the 6 elements in detail for those who haven't watched the show, and we'll get a list of people going for each... and then probably tackle each element in turn. But for now, the 6 elements are:
Honesty
Loyalty
Generosity
Kindness
Laughter
and the most elusive... Magic
These are great! I was going to do a brief list of my favorites, but I really like all of them.
For some reason, the way MJB's beard came out makes me really want to see a GDaybloke poney...
Should we be worried that this is actually the second time in ten years this community has been ponified? Does that somehow say something about us as a community? Must some great champion arise amongst us to oppose this ponification? Or do I just like to make random overly-dramatic statements?

If I had to submit to such categorization, I'd probably lean more towards Loyalty.
I also think that Saturn Pony looks pretty damn good. I'm not sure if I was attempting to goad you into making a goopy pony or not, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by the outcome of that one. I was kind of hoping that I would be left out of this particular craze, but I will admit that it's a good job on it. I do like that the ears are down, signifying my displeasure. I'll go along with this for now, but I'll face away from the rest of the crowd, as a further sign of my dissent. but, really, the posting of mine becomes the post of derp-ness? As for the derpy thing, it had more to do with your pony being finished on the day this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC2EMUuQmTY) aired. I know none of you unenlightened understand, but that episode was a big deal for us Bronies. To give you an idea, it'd be like if Benton found out that not only was there going to be a high-budget live-action Aquaman movie coming out within the next year, it was going to be written by Paul Dini (of DCUA lore).

Yeah, Vertex's av is a toughie to guess... most people associate him with his old B69 look, but his avatar as "Vertex" is a simple faceless red hero... kind of like a red version of Amazo from the JL/JLU show. I've asked him about it, and apparently he just thinks it too simple a design to ask someone to skin it for him... I keep meaning to do it anyway, but I always have 20,000 skins on my to do list. Even so, I like to make a nod to it every so often.

I blame Stan Lee and all of those mutants that he inspired. XStream's name was two-fold. I was in love with the X-Men books at the time, and it was playing homage to the Energy X that gave him his powers in his origin story. XStream's always been a bit of a fanboy.

See, I've been using symbols as the cutie marks for all the ponies, and unfortunately by the time I'd gotten around to XStream I'd done a couple different X-logos (Darek's chest tatoo from the Influx stuff, and it seems like there was another I don't remember... ) on various other forms of art... not to mention the plethora of different X logos on other heroes (*cough* X-men *cough*)... there's only so many ways you can manipulate a simple letter/shape like that to make it not look boring and dull.

Chillax my bronies: Today's pony has been done since Saturday, and it's almost worth the wait, I put a lot of effort into it. I just can't post it until after work.
As for it taking a long time.... it really doesn't. I'll probably have thurdays ready an hour or so after I post today's.The only reason, truthfully, that I'm limiting myself to 2 ponies a week is because time I spend making ponies is time I could be making skins and meshes for FF, and I'm currently trying to get a few last minute projects pounded out in preparation for something.

Gah! I feel poisoned for just looking through that page! But the mark choice makes a little more sense, now. I just chalk it up to licensing issues, and they had to go with something other than an established symbol to keep it in the homage/parody category, and not have to pay.
Not really... more like they put together a random background pony with a random hourglass cutie mark, that Doc Who fans turned around and decided looked like Tennant (Ironically after Tennant had already left the show). It's actually a bizarre case of fans identifying a pony as a character from another show, except where it's obvious the writers were making an outside reference (http://bronies.memebase.com/2011/11/12/my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic-brony-the-big-lepony/).
It's actually more common for fans to take a background pony, give it a personality based on some weird or unique trait they have ("Derpy" had an animation error in the first episode where her eyes derped so she's typically portrayed as somewhat clumsy, "Lyra" is a pony famous for one scene where she sits in a human-like way so she's portrayed as wanting to be human, etc.)

Hmmm... I think now that it's too late for most of the active board members anyway, I want to make an admission... when it comes to who to turn into ponies, my priority has always been to do those members who have posted in this thread. True, I've also done a fair number of non-posters (mostly due to artistic discretion of one kind or another), but my feeling is that those who have at least posted here would generally be more open to the idea of a pony avatar. Beyond that to, it's you guys who kept me going with this... if this hadn't caught on the way it did, I wouldn't have bothered.
So yeah, for those who might have wondered why I went out of my way to do guys like Outcast, Cyber Burn, and PreR when I have so far seemingly glossed over members such as Court, Cas, Ren, etc, it's only because I feel very strongly that I should give back to those who've kept me going.
What does that means from a practical standpoint? Well, in this case it means Syn's probably going to be a pony by Tuesday.
Thats the only reason I posted in this thread in the first place.
Definitely the quality of work is what's kept me interest even though I'm not a ponyboy.

For those who are comparing this to Juancho's original micro and going "Buh!?!" this is actually MY design for Syn, that's available on the avatar page of my NPI website. I seriously debated whether to use mine or Juancho's, but in the end I deferred to Syn himself.

Really, I'd have thought it was obvious by the color choices alone.
One thing I do want to point out with this one is that despite the Ponies being all colors of the rainbow (thus not really having "races" like human) there is one "African" character called "Zecora" who is a Zebra instead of a Pony. Now, I don't really hold to some bizarre idea that Black people are always Zebras (HQ, AA) but in a situation like this one where the design works with the stripes, I'm not above using the stripes to my advantage.

No, I used dark blue stripes... similar to the blue I've used for AA and Benton. Compare the color to that of the tail, which is a pure black.

No, I used dark blue stripes... similar to the blue I've used for AA and Benton. Compare the color to that of the tail, which is a pure black.

It's clearer when you're looking at the outline... for "black" segments the outline is gray, for a deep blue the outline is more of a blue.
Meh... as much as it pains me to say this, I think I have entered more or less a burnout when it comes to avatar ponies. When I set up the "only tuesday thursday" thing, it was primarily to give me time to get a pony done, and then move on to the billion other art projects I've set to the side. But in practice, it's been more of a restriction... I feel obligated to do a pony even if I really don't have any desire to do anyone's avatar, and forcing myself to do one drains my creativity and drive. I'm not saying I won't do anymore on occasion (still planning on doing Naitvalis' when Juancho finishes it, and I'll likely do requests if someone wants to see their av done) but I'm not going out of my way to find people to turn into ponies.
For now, anyone who wants to see artwork from me can go the 3-4 other threads I've got going with various art (sketches, skins, figures, etc.)

Before I go into the why, who, and what of this pony, I just want to say up front that this was the most fun I've had designing anypony ever. It's just so wonderfully bad, I love it!
Anyway, most of you guys probably realize that this isn't an existing Freedom Reborn avatar. Nor is it an avatar from anyone on any other board, or even from some bizarre episode of the show. This, my fellow Reborners, is a pony derived... from MLP Fanfiction.
You heard me correctly beaches. Now, I don't pretend to be any kind of connoisseur of My Little Pony Fiction (I've read maybe 5-7 complete stories out of the several thousand on Equestria Daily) but fan works, including fictional stories, is a HUGE part of why I love MLP... the episodes are OK on their own, but the fanbase has this way of taking even the most minor things and making them hilarious. And while I tend to shy away from the fanfiction (for what should be obvious reasons) every so often I'll skim one of the ED fiction updates to see if anything jumps out.
So it was with "So Long, and Thanks for all the Ponies." Now, I'm not really sure if I'd recommend it to anyone yet (I'm only at the end of chapter 4 now, but so far it's just a passable retelling of HGttG with the Mane 6+1 replacing Arthur and Ford Prefect), but the description of a Pony version of Zaphod was so off the wall I decided to try my hand at it.
Thus, I ended up designing Pony Zaphod Beeblebrox, and had a blast doing it.

So... just "finished" this, at least to the extent I likely will tonight. This is a major component of a side project I'm thinking of starting up (one that will be a whole lot easier once this is completely done, with all the goodies I wanna add)

This was a redesign one of my cohorts in the "Ponymon" project sketched out for my av, which I went ahead and translated to vector. It's based on the design style of the "Fire Emblem" game series.
Not too familiar with the RPG game "Fire Emblem", but the design looks pretty cool. :)

I'm the same way, actually... but a number of our wiki members are fans and one of them ("LordFireStorm") just started making FE version of our avatars. And I gotta say, the design he whipped up for mine is pretty awesome.

Well, Ponymon is a gba rom based around Pokemon Fire-Red. The FE redesign thing really has very little to do with it.

You have to be kind of careful though. Most of the 3d prints out there are done in the normal/medium scale (3-4 inches? I don't have any larger ones on hand), which normally have rooted hair... and the prints do not. They work better with the "blind bags" (which are all sculpted, 1-2 inches) but then you run into issues of stability and yada yada. Luna took me two separate prints (each with different materials because I was doing some experimenting) and half a dozen attempts to get the model in the correct scale AND have enough stability to keep her wings from falling off.
But yeah, 3d printing is awesome. I've used it for a few (http://tomatoinsanity.tumblr.com/post/38186427961/delta) other (http://tomatoinsanity.tumblr.com/post/43060305236/so-i-dunno-if-anyone-remembers-that-delta-i-did) projects (http://freedomreborn.net/forums/index.php?topic=54803.msg757403#msg757403) so far, and I have a few others in mind if I can ever get around to doing them.
Yeah, it's actually a lot of fun experimenting with it. That said, if you're gonna do ponies, I would either go with fine detail plastic or polished white plastic and then paint them yourself, rather then doing a full color sandstone print. The sandstone prints look very faded and have a rough texture to them, which doesn't match up to the smooth plastic of the official toys. They only really work when they're by themselves.

That's a nice take on your avatar there Tomato. He looks more human now compared to before. And much younger too.
I can only assume the decision to make his face/skin a different shade of red was because it might make the red neck lining of his costume unnoticeable. :unsure:

It's more to create a clear separation between his skin tone and his costume. The high collar is a more recent addition, something I plan on adding to the costume when I get around to making it IRL.
Bonus points to anyone who manages to guess the style btw.

*shrug* Honestly DJ... I'm really not obsessed anymore. I even made a blog post on my tumblr a year or so back saying I no longer consider myself a brony. I still watch the show occasionally and I'm still have friends who are fans, but the fanbase's negativity about certain plot elements (discord becoming a good guy, Alicorn Twilight) finally got to me. I'm just a casual fan nowadays.
That said, I do have a lot of fun doing these, and I only really stopped because I didn't really have anyone else to do. I do want to finally try my hand at Nait's avatar (he sent me a pm awhile ago, but I've had a hard time translating what he sent me into something practical)
