So, here are a couple of skopes/skins that I did for Benton a little while back:
First, a Moloid for all of your Mole Man/Fantastic Four battles.
Then, I did a requested Shatterax for the Kree Starforce:
While in the Starforce mood, I tackled Supremor.
I also updated a few oldies; one skope whose coat I switched out and new keyframes added by Detourne_me (who also added TJ Toad's tongue):
I also redid some skins I had done ages ago: Vector and Zzzax
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Vector_new.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Zzzax_new.jpg)
I felt like taking a crack at this heavy hitter: Attuma complete with trident sword.
And, finally, a little something I did for my good buddy, Laughing Paradox, who wanted to skin something: Rachel Summers as Phoenix
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Phoenix_Rachel.jpg)
Wow that's some really cool stuff. I especially like the Rachel Summers. And Attuma looks pretty cool as well.
Man!!! I feel so unworthy right now.
oh my lord!
These are so awesome!
AWESOME!!!!!
I Love that Rachael, an Supremor? Cool!
Woooo!
It's great seeing all this fantastic work all in one post. While I'm obviously bias towards the Rachel Summers ;), I love the Zzzax and Attuma. The Supremor skope is siiiick!
Thanks a lot everyone. It's nice to know that there's a little something for everybody here. That Rachel Summers skin is just a placeholder until I can find someone with real talent to skin her.
Are you kidding me?? That skin's incredible! Her cheekbones look amazing.. really reminds me of the JR jr. issues from the 80s

Man, Rachel is one of the best ones up there! The skin looks fantastic!
Well, I was kidding, you guys. It was a little jest with Laughing Paradox, who did the skin. I think the skin rocks, as well. His skins always make my skopes look better.
Impressive work, the Supremor is awesome!
Excellent work Hoss, my faves were the Lizard and Rachael but also appreciated the Moloid, Supremor and the others.
Well done!
I think that Rachel is the standout for me. Great skin, and all those spikes must have been a pain to skope on. Major kudos to both Hoss and LP.
Quote... and all those spikes must have been a pain to skope on.
Ha ha, thanks for noticing that, Cyber. The arm spikes, I was able to grab from Gren's Titania and just scaled them down a touch. All of the rest were individually placed, using just one scaled down thorn from Gren's Thornn mesh. Fortunately, since the spikes are relatively close together, once one was in place, it wasn't too bad to move the next one into place. I am really happy with it and feel extremely fortunate that it's met with such positive response here. I also echo everyone's comments on the skin. I really think it's fantastic. Seeing how everything turned out, I'm glad that I filled LP's request to make the skope. Of course, now he's going to make a list a mile long of stuff for me to make. :banghead:
ROFL that reminds me how YEARS ago I had a mesh just like that made... but never released because I couldn't come up with a good phoenix to appear behind her during power effects... wish I still had that mesh :( both the skin and mesh look great

I wasn't before, but I am NOW! :subterrainian
All my new stuff (and some old) is now located at Force of Paradox (http://forceofparadox.yolasite.com/)
I've also updated a couple of things along with the wolf of my Fenris Wolf 2 pack. There's also a Vision skope that I swear on a stack of bibles I did completely independently of Detourne_me. It looks like we both may have used (at least I did, anyway) Ren's Martian Manhunter to give him some phasing effects. They look nearly identical. I think we may have used different capes. I guess great minds think alike.
Anyway, enjoy everything, gang. There's more to come and be sure to check out Murs' recently created unreleased stuff and all of LP's new and updated skins.
There's also a new creation by LP and me somewhere on the site. ;)
Amazing Stuff!! I can't believe I found the bonus page too!!
Thanks, DM! I'm glad you found the bonus page. It looks like you're the first official member to have found it. I'll have to check with LP if there's a no-prize or something for doing that.

You win ... uh .. a block of cheese? I don't know, I didn't think that far ahead. :)
hoss20 really great work on all of these, thank you! ;)
You're very welcome, XPTO. It's the least I could do to return the favor for your Captain Atlas and Ultimus skopes. This way, along with Gren's new stuff, you could complete your Starforce collection, if you hadn't done so already. :D
Oh thanks.. you remember those? haha, well they are kind of obsolete now with Gren meshes, and LP did an awesome Dr. Minerva too, i don´t have much time but we´ll see, i have about 50 unfinished skins haha i am so lazy :P.
DAMN.
That is some nice work.
Hey, thanks Scorpion. Nice to hear from you. I haven't seen you around in a while.
is attuma's sword newly made or is it from a previously existing mesh? it looks great. Phoenix looks great as a hound. great skions and skopes.
Thanks for noticing the sword. I thought it turned out pretty well, but started to think that maybe I was overestimating its appearance on the skope. The actual sword is from male_gni_versatile. It is a collection of pieces of Gni's meshes compiled by Ewzzy. I'm glad I stumbled upon it. It's another great resource for us skopers. The trident portion was taken from Lord Ehmsidy's Crymsin mesh. I just had to prune the triangles from the spear part to just leave the trident. It worked out great that just the "wings" could be left and the center part was open to fit (almost) perfectly onto the sword. I always thought that Attuma's sword was nasty looking, so I really wanted to include it on a skope for him.
All credit to Laughing Paradox for the skins for Phoenix. We have some more stuff in the works that I'm pretty excited about.
youre work more than paid off, the quality of the sword is fantastic.
Ohh wow Hoss, what great work man! You know how much I loved that Moloid skope/skin you did for me. They look so awesome now, and you did some really impressive work skoping their keyframes and everything. The rest of these are really impressive as well though. You've improved a lot man. All of these skins just look so clean and smooth. Great work! I especially like that Supremor....I'm going to need that guy. That Zzzax is especially impressive, though.
Thanks a lot, Benton. It still makes me feel good knowing that some of you guys out there not only like what I've done, but like the stuff enough to use it in your own Rumble Rooms or mods. I especially appreciate it when improvements are noticed, whether in my skins, skopes, or both. As mentioned in a previous post, LP and I have some stuff on the way. He wants to recharge his batteries before skinning all of the junk I've sent him, but we do have one available soon after we smooth out the final details. I also have some stuff I'll be finishing up soon. The skopes are done and I'm skinning them now.
By the way, Benton, I've been thinking for a while now, do you need an updated Terrible Trio for Aquaman? They weren't easy characters to skope, but wow, I did a HORRIBLE job on them.
Well man, your hard work is quite evident. Awesome! I can't wait to see what y'all have in store for us! Can we get any hints?
Haha, they weren't horrible, but their actual designs were, other than Torpedo. What I'd like is to see them redesigned and for someone just to create whatever they want for those other two parts of the Trio.
Well, I haven't spoken to my skinning friend in a few days, so I don't know if he'll let me give any hints for what we have coming, but I have a hint pic for what I'm working on. I tried to emulate their look on their first cover appearance. The only hint I will give is that, to my knowledge, they have not been meshed, skoped, or skinned by anyone yet (at least released, anyway). They're kind of obscure, so hopefully, no one will guess.

Definitely He-Man skopes.
I'm calling it, because I see that winged-dude in the background (I can't remember his name; Stratos or something like that?)
Earthlord, Skyhawk, and Windwarrior? Some obscure Thor characters?
Aw man, Cyber, you got it. :( Not to worry, Spydermann, if you didn't know ol' Thor from some 25+ years ago, you probably wouldn't recognize Earth Force. That was a good guess, though. Cyber, I can only imagine that you collected Thor back then, being that Earth Force has made like, 5 appearances, at the most, in the Marvel Universe. Kudos to you, my friend.
Now, to celebrate my first post as an official Hero Member (it only took me over 8 years), I am previewing a little collaboration from me and Laughing Paradox. He had asked me to skope her and I had admitted that I had thought of doing a skope of her in the past. I hope she turned out well enough. Of course, LP's skin rocks it, as usual. So, here she is, Gamora:
More stuff to come!
Lol Hoss! I read the Kane Chronicles this summer and decided to go on an Egyptian skin and scope marathon! With that in mind based on your preview we have both done marvels earth force!

I'm always happy to learn more about comic book characters, especially obscure ones.
Can't wait to see what they end up looking like :D
Btw, Gamora looks great
Cool Gamora! Love the scaly texture on her costume.

And once upon a time, I did collect an issue or two of Thor, I always looked for first appearances of new characters.

:eek2:
WHERE can I get this?!
It should be at Force of Paradox (http://forceofparadox.yolasite.com/), but I know that LP hasn't been in the swing of things for a while. He should have the finished product. I had just done a little skinning adjustment on the dagger. I'd be happy to send it to you or I could post it on my old Yahoo site.
I wouldn't mind getting my hands on it as well. Is it based off of Syn's Warpath mesh?
The base mesh is Gren's Tiger's Daughter, but the right handed knife is from Syn's Warpath (with the left handed dagger being from Gren's latest Hogun mesh).
Cyber, I have your e-mail from a previous exchange, so I'll send it out to you.
That would be awesome, thanks!
Man, I should really upload that. I don't know if I have the final version of it or not.
Very excellent Gamora...scales are awesome!
What began as a request for a skin for a skope by Djfredski in this thread, http://freedomreborn.net/forums/index.php?topic=56565.0 resulted in a collaboration that I was very happy with. Djfredski gave me a very nice foundation skope to work with and I added a few things I learned over the years. The skinned turned out pretty well for me (and I stress, for ME). I've uploaded it to my Yahoo group (in my signature). So, now along with Gamora, you Infinity Watch collectors can have a full group.
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Pip_skope_final_zps62cd7761.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/hoss20/media/Pip_skope_final_zps62cd7761.jpg.html) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Pip_skope_boots_zps1688ee5b.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/hoss20/media/Pip_skope_boots_zps1688ee5b.jpg.html)
Edit: I have temporarily removed the Pip skope from my Yahoo group as Cyber Burn has alerted me that it contains a piece from a Fusion mesh. Fusion is one of the meshers that had forbidden his work to be used in skopes. I completely missed this in the Read Me that Djfredski had provided me. I have reached out to Djfredski to find out which piece it was, so that I can, hopefully, find a suitable replacement piece and re-release the skope.
Benton was looking for some Squadron Supreme members for an update to his great Marvel Mod. Even though we have Fusion's great Skrullian Skymax mesh, Benton's search reminded me that I had thrown together a skope a little while back using Renegade's Martian Manhunter. He had a good skull to use as a base for a Skrull and had phasing animations to pass for Skymax's invisibility power. So, I decided to do a couple of original skins and now he's ready for release.
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Skrullian_Skymax_skope_original_zps697db593.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/hoss20/media/Skrullian_Skymax_skope_original_zps697db593.jpg.html) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Skrullian_Skymax_skope_current_zpsb88213c6.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/hoss20/media/Skrullian_Skymax_skope_current_zpsb88213c6.jpg.html)
He's at the Yahoo group in my signature.
You do excellent work my friend, and never cease to impress.
Nice to see some original work from you hoss20. :)
Very nice Hoss, and that's a clever usage of the phasing animations.
Pip the Troll has been re-released. The Fusion piece was the awesome hair, so I found some hair from Tommyboy and Ink and combined them to try to get the same look.
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Pip_skope_final_2_zps330b7773.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/hoss20/media/Pip_skope_final_2_zps330b7773.jpg.html) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Pip_skope_boots2_zps8a296e6e.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/hoss20/media/Pip_skope_boots2_zps8a296e6e.jpg.html)
I'm glad that you were able to get Pip re-done, not that I'm a big fan of the character, but I think it's a great skope.
Also, I went back over your Skymax skope, I never would have though to use a beard for the chin, nice use of parts on that one.
Thanks a lot, Cyber. As I was working on the skin for Pip and started tinkering with the skope, I really began to get excited about him. If Djfredski hadn't requested a skin from me and given me a great base skope to start with, I really wouldn't have had all that much interest in doing the character myself. I'm glad you liked how he turned out.
Thanks for noticing the pieces on Skrullian Skymax. The mapping for the beard fit right into the male_basic art file, so it blended relatively easily.
While I've got your attention, I hope you don't mind a quick question. What mesh did you get the ears from for Pip?
The ears were put on by Djfredski, but I did a little searching myself and it appears that the ears are from Arkkis_Chummuck_Ink.
Very cool, thank you. :D

I agree. Great work on both.
A mention of this guy in one of Benton's threads prompted me to do skope I've been thinking about for a while. Of course, I'm old enough to remember this guy from way back in the 70's when my brother started collecting Nova. So, here's Diamondhead. He's done on GGX_Martinex_Gren with some added pieces by Renegade and Tommyboy along with a little Blender magic by me to get the head right.
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Diamondhead_skope_new_head_zps36233b6a.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/hoss20/media/Diamondhead_skope_new_head_zps36233b6a.jpg.html)
I've uploaded him to my Yahoo group (link in my signature).
Cool! This brings back memories... :)
Hoss, the blender job on his head really amped the character up. I already like the skin, as you well know!
Did you put reflection on his blue suit? It looks cool.
No, actually the edges and highlights are all due to the diamond form of the mesh. I mentioned in Benton's thread, and it's worth repeating, that the reason this thing looks any good is due to Gren's masterful work in creating the original mesh. As you know from skinning Martinex yourself, it's kind of fun seeing the effects the different shades and colors in the refl file have on the lighting of the diamond form.
I just love this guy, Hoss. Great work man, and that skin is really nice!
Great work. Now I will have to revisit my Nova skoped mesh.
From time to time, I had thought about doing this old Thor foe who eventually came into conflict with Captain Mar-vell, as well. When Djfredski requested him a little while back, I decided to get moving on doing a skope. Mercurio can generate fire from his right hand and ice from his left. He generally doesn't have these powers "activated" all of the time, so I wanted to have a skope where the powers showed only when he used them. It took a little longer than I would have liked. Fortunately, Windblown came to my rescue with his tutorial, so that I could add appearing/disappearing FX to the animations. Vorelliwiseau then helped immensely, as he discovered the answer to a problem we were both having. This enabled me to add a physical "Ice Fist" that appears during a few animations. I included a low quality video to showcase the animations. So, here's a relatively obscure villain, Mercurio:
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Mercurio_skope_zps5af48d40.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/hoss20/media/Mercurio_skope_zps5af48d40.jpg.html) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/th_Mercurio_animations_zps6462fb82.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Mercurio_animations_zps6462fb82.mp4)
He's been uploaded to my Yahoo group. (link in my signature)
This is amazing.
Hey guys , remember the last time I was talking about Mercurio himself and when I was about to request him to come my way he was unfortunately not available yet since nobody did him just yet or the fact is that he wasn't released just yet  and :(. But now guess what :D... Now that my patience has paid off for this year known as 2013, I have now discovered that Hoss has officially released his own version of Mercurio designed in his own way and above all I really like it very much . Way to go on Mercurio Hoss, I do hope that you keep up the good work and bring us more of your latest creations and designs in the form of new characters in the form of heroes and villains depending on which comic universe they are from ;).
BigD
P.S. I'm going to download Mercurio now Hoss, and along with that I will enjoy him, create him and play with him in the DANGER ROOM and/or RUMBLE ROOM on :ff:0and/or :ffvstr: depending on which version it is for at the same time :).

Oh yeah, gang, he's for :ffvstr: due to the fact that I made him with the appearing/disappearing FX during animations. I mention this in the Read Me file, but I should have announced it here. Altering :ff: keyframes for the ability to make stuff appear and disappear is quite a bit different from :ffvstr: and those of us doing this stuff in NIfskope haven't discovered the way to do this for the original game. Windblown mentions this in his thread and I'm just glad that he shared his wisdom with us so that we could at least do this for one of the games.
I hope you enjoy him, BigD.
AA, I always appreciate feedback from those members whose work I really respect. Thank you.
That's pretty awesome.
I now dub you "some kind of wizard" as well.
Sweet stuff, Hoss!
I can't wait to try him out!
That's an amazing skope!! I love the frozen fist animations, and I'm really glad that someone used the tutorial :)
That looks great
Not really an update as much as correcting a stupid error. I forgot to remove the blue box surrounding the skope that I used to showcase the FX better in the video. I've re-uploaded the skope to my Yahoo group. I believe the cool thing about the box (which I borrowed from Ink's Supercracker mesh), is that it doesn't show up in game. I just went ahead and removed it anyway.
I also wanted to thank everyone for the compliments. I'm glad that it turned out well enough to receive some positive feedback.
The compliments are more than well deserved, this Skope turned out AWESOME, and the skin is also very nicely done.
I had thought of doing that character but due to the head I axed him from my list...might have to rethink that....hmmm...
Ohh, he's got a nice look to him. I like that skin, Hoss. That's nice, but the skope/animations are really (forgive the pun) cool!
Nothing huge here. Just in case it was missed in the latest massive update at Force of Paradox; here's an Ironclad skin on Gren's updated Ironclad mesh. I know people aren't exactly clamoring for my skins, but being that I had skoped Vapor and X-Ray and updated my old Vector skin a little while back, Laughing Paradox suggested that I go ahead and update my ancient Ironclad skin to complete the U-Foes. So, here's a little before and after, keeping in mind that the original skin was done nearly 10 years ago:
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Ironclad.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/hoss20/media/Ironclad.jpg.html) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/hoss20/Ironclad_update_zps951cef93.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/hoss20/media/Ironclad_update_zps951cef93.jpg.html)
Original Update
So, on top of working with a much improved mesh, thanks to Grenadier, I was able to add my own metallic texture along with a little reflection. All in all, an improvement, I hope. He's available in the U-Foes section on my page at Force of Paradox.
Nice update

Hey looks great. The only thing I would adjust he looks more like chrome than iron. If you darkened him up just a bit it would look a little more irony. Also it might help the reflective details pop more.
It's clearly a major improvement.. I really like how this skin came out. My favorite part of the skin are the little details in the dark recesses that reflect.
I think it looks great!
The more skins the merrier!

I went ahead and revisited my previously unreleased skope of Kalibak and decided to give him an original skin along with adding some pieces. I decided to use the version that I found on the MarvelLegends.net site under the DC Universe Classics action figure/collectibles section.

This is the first skin I've done in a little while, with thanks to Murs47 and Gryphon for their bases. We should be having an upcoming release at Force of Paradox shortly with some new skopes by me skinned by Laughing Paradox.
That is really awesome, Hoss!
Very nice Hoss, great texture on the skin. I can't wait till the FOP update!!!
Kalibak looks so good! I really dig it.
I know I've been MIA for a while now, I've just been busy with a bunch of things lately. However, the site will be updated sooner than later, including a bunch of great stuff by Hoss.

...and Kalibak is unleashed! He's on my page at Force of Paradox (http://forceofparadox.yolasite.com/)
Also, the Cap_Shield_AoX FX that I created by request for Murs47's skin is now available.
I also created a Cap Rally FX using the Minuteman Rally FX. I made a slight change to the circling stars, updated the American flag, and (most importantly) added a clip from the Avengers movie theme for the sound FX. Both FX, along with Laughing Paradox's new Mental Beam FX, can be found on this page: http://forceofparadox.yolasite.com/new.php
Cool stuff!
Very nice Hoss. Looking forward to some Kalibak kicking. :)
To celebrate my 1000th post on Freedom Reborn, I decided to get fancy and have a little fun with my preview of everybody's favorite DC bada$$...Despero.

He's done on Gren's Wendigo. I had to shrink him down a bit and I'm currently working on appropriate animations. He'll be released soon with a horde of LP's DC stuff (along with another skope of mine that he's skinning) with the next Force of Paradox update.
 What a way to celebrate a milestone!
*dies of too much excitement*
Whoa! Cool! It's nice to see a classic DC baddie getting some love
Ohh man, that's awesome! I agree with CB, nice way to celebrate an milestone! :D
Now THAT's what I call a teaser!
Looking good Hoss.
AWESOME!!
Awesome!
I love that preview image! Looks so much like a cover for JLI or JLE!
Despero is looking great, too. I love the clasp and cape, how well that looks together.
Thanks all. It really means a lot that you guys like what you see.
Benton, out of respect for you, I did not include Aquaman in the pile of defeated JLA members.
Awesome looking Despero. Makes me want to update my hero file!

Haha! Awesome! You're good people, Hoss.
That is an awesome Despero, and the preview image is excellent! Just like a comic cover.
:eek2:
Wow, the cape and collar look so cool. Nice job with the preview image, too
Despero is now available to wreak havoc upon the Justice League. I also created a Dr. Light II skope with great skin by Laughing Paradox. Although, I guess she'll also be trodden under Despero's heel.
They're both available in my DC section at Force of Paradox (http://forceofparadox.yolasite.com/)
An excellent release, by an excellent team.
Well, gang, I messed up. I had to do a lot of work on the Despero keyframes (resizing body parts to fit non-Wendigo keyframes) and in doing so, forgot to shrink the skope down to an appropriate size for Despero. This is now done and I've sent the updated skope to LP to upload. In the meantime, those with Nifskope experience can feel free to scale down the Scene Root to 0.85 or anyone is welcome to PM me with their email and I'll be more than happy to send you the updated nif file.
Sorry for the mix up, but I just feel that as big a boy as Despero is, that the Wendigo mesh I used as a base is way too large for the character.
No, Freedom Force doesn't really need another base skin, especially after Murs released his. However, I have let a few of my friends here in on another venture that I am pursuing involving my creation of a superhero board game. I am in the need for images for my heroes and Grenadier and Vertex were gracious enough to allow me to use their meshes as models for my heroes. Along with this, I wanted to create my own base so that, at least, all of the artwork would be of my own creation. I am using my original heroes and villains for the game and have been working on a base skin. I'll end up using this for all skopes that I skin from now on, but I wanted to get any tips or suggestions from anyone who cares to offer any. This is a combination of photoskin and my limited artistic ability. I am reasonably happy with how the rendering turned out, but I'm not sure about the skin color. It could possibly use some more contrast, but in doing that, I don't want to lose some of the more subtle shading. I've been messing with all sorts of blending and layer types, but I can't quite get the look I want. I would be very welcome to hear any Photoshop advice. This is more for my use, but if anyone would be interested in using this, I would be more than happy to release it for public consumption.

I would be very interested in using your base Hoss20.
I think the face work, upper body and the lower legs starting from the knee looks very good Hoss20. So i am really impressed with what you've done so far in making your own base.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable in skinning would offer the tips and suggestions you're asking for.
Hey wow, synchronicity! - I was starting work on a base skin of my own for other projects and was hoping to find pointers.
I'd be interested in yours for FF use, hoss20, but also very curious about how you went about making a new one from scratch. (please email or PM me on that?)
I think I was able to get what I was looking for. I was able to adds some contrast by darkening the shadows and midtones and adding some more highlights while still being able to maintain the same base color. Since the original pic is on the other page, I figured I should show both for reference:

Original Update
I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out, but still very open to suggestions.
Nice job! The added contrast does make it look better.
Really good job!
That is nicely done Hoss. I'm always impressed when someone creates a base, I don't think I could ever create my own.
That's some really great work, Hoss!
Looks good!
You've been a busy base skinner!
That's looking very nice!
We ALWAYS need more good bases, and yours is very good. I really liked the colors, looks more realistic than the in-game skins.
Great work!
Looks like a solid base, good job!
I've been really bogged down with life and a very special project I've been working on, but I figured I should at least release the little bit of work that I have been able to complete. I made some slight adjustments on the previous skin I showed. Here are my finalized base skins for male black and white heroes. They are available in my Yahoo group for now in the Skins section. I hope somebody can get some use out them, even if just for variety's sake.

Hoss!
This looks fantastic! Great job on it. :)
Very cool Hoss, I just downloaded these, and I definitely like what I see. I may have to start Skinning again, just so I can try these out.
Very nice Hoss!
Great job on these!
