Title: Sentinels of the Multiverse Game 6 (AKA Cat tries to kill you attempt #1)
Post by: catwhowalksbyhimself on March 05, 2015, 02:18:36 AM
Yes, it's that time again.  This time you'll be facing this dude.

I'll go with Bunker this time. Fight iron with iron.

Ooof, Bunker could be tough as he is characteristically a slow starter.  To help with that and to give us some villain deck control I'm going with Dark Visionary.

Three Bunkers to choose from.

Regular Bunker--28 HP, Base Power is Initialize: Draw a card.
Engine of War (Freedom 6 Bunker)--27 HP, Base Power is Locomotion: Discard a Mode card. If you do, destroy an Ongoing card.
GI Bunker (WWII Bunker)--27 HP, Base Power is Panzer-Buster: Select a target. Damage dealt to that target is irreducible until the start of your turn.

Given the amount of DamRed Iron Legacy can get out, GI Bunker could be a huge advantage for the team.

Definitely. That power sounds like it could make one of his tactics obsolete.

GI bunker please. :)

Sorry. Had a real hard time choosing. Lots of neat characters i wanted to try out. Still, i had to choose someone who can help fight iron legacy.  The easy and safest choice would probably be Legacy. But id like to try someone new.

So i'll try and see if The Naturalist can help you guys with Iron Legacy.

I could try,but I dont really know how to play the game.

It's gonna be a tough villain to learn on, but pick a character any character.

Take a look at some of the past games to get the idea, but to explain it quickly you are given a selection of cards which all behave in different ways. Your turn will come up once a round. Usually, you would play a card, then a power, and then draw a card (but there are a lot of modifiers that change how that works).

It's just a case of paying attention to what all the effects of the cards are and tactics come with being adaptable as the game changes.

We do a lot of talking about how the game works as we get to grips with it ourselves.

I hope that covers the gist of it.

Reep correct.  This will probably be a very short and very hard game, so don't expect to win or excel your first outing, but you'll catch on to the general rules just fine.  Since it's coop, the other players and even me as moderator can answer questions and give advice and we will be pleased to do so.  Just choose a hero that looks interesting.  The first six and KNYFE are especially good choices for a new player.

I'd argue against Fanatic as a first character.  I'd advise Haka or Ra - they're both pretty straight forward damage dealers.

There are 3 "versions" of Tachyon available. Each with a slightly different base power and starting HP. But the cards in her deck will be the same.

Tachyon (regular) - HP 27
Power - Rapid Recon -Look at the top card of your Hero deck. You may discard that card.

Tachyon (team leader) - HP 28
Power - Team Leader -Each Player draws 1 card.

Tachyon (super scientific) - HP 26
Power - Experiment -Reveal the bottom two cards of a deck. If they share a keyword, put them into play. If not, discard them.

For more information on other Heroes, their powers, and their cards. You can look them up here.

I'm feeling sick right now and not up to actually starting this, but you an discuss what Environment you'd like to try.  In addition to these, I have 4 more that aren't on the list that I or someone else can tell you about later.  I don't feel up to getting them ready for fancy viewing right now.

The ruins of the lost city of Atlantis, home to amazing relics and the terrifying Kraken.

The home city of Legacy and the Freedom Five.  A shining vast metropolis.

Wagner Mars Base, a research and military base located on Mars, it is the first stop for would-be conquerors from the stars.

A land lost in time, where dinosaurs and other ancient creatures still live.

Often known by it's nickname of Crook city, it is full of crime and curruption and is the home of Wraith and Darkwatch.

More than just strictly legal production and research goes on here.  Beware of dangerious chemicals and mutated vermin.

Time has gone completely bannannas here.  Creatures and places form throughout time and space are all mixed together, and that can't be good for the space-time continuum.

FILTER's interdimensional prison, where the worst of the worst are held.  The prison is ungoing a riot and the heroes are unfortunately not any more popular with the guards than they are with the prisoners.

A time Portal has connected the present with Chronoranger's home down, right in the middle of a gunfight with a family of bandits.

In the far future that Chrono-Ranger ended up in, strange cryptids have multiplied and destroyed all human life.  Only Chronoranger, lost through a time portal, and the eternal warrior Haka are still alive.

I'm not super excited about Wagner Mars Base - I've been playing the video game a fair amount and with the limited environment choices I've been playing it a fair amount.  My preference would be Time Cataclysm - plus I think it fits the game.

It was retconned.  The editors are trying to appeal to children.

It looks like Mars Base has the lead.  If you don't to annoy UY, you can always pick another one.  Also, that one has the potential to shut Iron Legacy down for a long time and that would interfere with my plans to murderize you.

Anything that can help us win against Iron Legacy has my vote. So i'm with Uncle Yuan on Time Cataclysm.

Plus it would make it more interesting if it was a tie. Only DJ's vote will break the tie.

It's up to DJ now. ;)

I think he was referring to Mars Base - there's a card called Meteor Storm that stops ALL damage.  It can really be a key card as it can give heroes essentially unlimited time to set up their tableaus.  I don't hate Mars Base, I've just been playing it a lot lately.  If that's the was the team wants to go I'm fine with it.

If you like, although I doubt it will be that much of a problem.  Up until the game starts you can switch if you like.  Team Leader is probably a bit easier for your first time out since you don't need to understand her deck to know what it's useful for.

Looks like a majority is now in favor of Mars Base.  I wish a pox on your for trying to foil my evil plans.  Also, game will start up as soon as I cook up a play banner for Guise.

I'm home from work sick today, the first time in four or five years.  So I've done and got this thing set up and will go back to bed for a while.

Anyhow, Iron Legacy before the game begins starts with 1 Ongoing card for every Hero fighting him.  He puts into play, in order

Superhuman Redirection: Ongoing   The first time Iron Legacy would be dealt 5 or more Damage from a single source each turn, redirect that Damage to the Hero Target with the highest HP.
Demoralizing Presence: Ongoing--Increase Damage dealt by Iron Legacy by 1. At the end of the Villain turn, each Hero Target deals themselves 1 Psychic Damage.
Final Evolution: Ongoing--When this card enters play, Iron Legacy deals each non-Villain Target 1 Toxic Damage. Whenever a Hero uses a Power, Iron Legacy regains 2 HP.
Galvanized: Ongoing--Increase Damage dealt by Iron Legacy by 1. This card is indestructible.
Superhuman Redirection: Ongoing   The first time Iron Legacy would be dealt 5 or more Damage from a single source each turn, redirect that Damage to the Hero Target with the highest HP.

The order here's important because Final Evolution deals damage as soon as it's put into play.  As Demoralizing Presence is already in effect, it deals 2 damage to most heroes, and 3 to Bunker and Tachyon (They are nemeses.  Note to the new player--this means Tachyon does 1 extra point of damage to him too whenever she does damage.)

That gives us the following starting situation.  Note that I've tinkered with my format somewhat, to make it closer to the one we use at Board Game Geeks.

Villain Ongoing Effects
Increase damage dealt by Iron Legacy by 1(Demoralizing Presence)
Increase damage dealt by Iron Legacy by 1(Galvanized)
The first time Iron Legacy would be dealt 5 or more damage from a single source each turn, redirect it to the Hero target with the highest hp(Superhuman Redirection)
Whenever a Hero uses a Power, Iron Legacy regains 2 HP(Final Evolution)

Iron Legacy's turn:

Start: Legacy has more than 20 hp, so nothing happens

Play: Iron-Fist Strike: One-Shot--Iron Legacy deals the Hero Target with the highest HP (H) plus 1 Melee Damage. Destroy 2 Hero Ongoing cards.

So that's 8 damage to the Naturalist.  There are no Ongoing cards to destroy, fortunately.

End: All Heroes deal themselves 1 damage.

That makes it Guise's turn

Villain Ongoing Effects
Increase damage dealt by Iron Legacy by 1(Demoralizing Presence)
Increase damage dealt by Iron Legacy by 1(Galvanized)
The first time Iron Legacy would be dealt 5 or more damage from a single source each turn, redirect it to the Hero target with the highest hp(Superhuman Redirection)
Whenever a Hero uses a Power, Iron Legacy regains 2 HP(Final Evolution)

Post by: catwhowalksbyhimself on March 13, 2015, 02:52:04 PM
I meant to do a story introduction, but I plum forgot, so here it is.

Concerned by the sudden, violent change in his friend Visionary's personality, Tyler Vance, better known as the hero Bunker, has taken her to the isolated Wagner Mars Base along with the Naturalist, who knows a thing or two about dealing with the beastial side of his nature.  To their suprise they find Guise--seemingly on vacation.  As he appears to be napping, they careful avoid him and hope he doesn't notice they are around.

Before they can make their hasty exit, a time portal opens and Legacy steps out.  Or rather he looks like Legacy--but older, with a different uniform, and all the kindness and nobility the heroes have learned to look for in their friend is completely gone.

He looks around the room before stating "Today is a day of celebration, for here I will begin to bring justice to your world, as I brought it to mine.  No more will criminals be coddled and evildoers allowed to live.  Inform your governments that the populations of all prisons are to be executed at once.  If they do not comply, I will know them for the traitors to peace they are and will give them the same justice they would deny their people.  Then I will demand the following. . ."\

Before he can continue, a second figure emerges from the portal.  It is Tachyon, but not Tachyon.  Like with Legacy, she is older and perhaps more serious, but this is still the Tachyon they know.

"Stop, Legacy.  I will not let you bring your tyrany to this innocent world."

Cursing himself for not bring his Bunker suit with him, Vance runs to the base's display case, hoping the WWII model of the Bunker suit is still functional.

Meanwhile.  Guise yawns and stretches before standing up and proclaiming "Let's put on a good show for the new player!"

Guise pops up beside Iron Legacy.  "IL, you looking might fancy today.  Love the new cape and those fancy shoulder pads.  Bet you I could pull those off better, though.  Here give them to me."  Guise rips Iron Legacy's shoulder pads off (play Retcon to destroy Final Evolution) and shimmies into them.  "Oh yeah, now that's what I'm talking about!  Yeah, I sooo am made for these!" (draw a card and end my turn)

(OOC: Just by seeing the few cards in my hand, I think I've already found my new regular hero!!! So I'll call dibs on Guise for future games....MWUAHAHAHAHA!!!)

Are you choosing not to use your power?  Also, Retcon allows you to either draw a card or play a card.  Are you passing up on that?

(Oops, guess I'll go ahead and use Tough Choices on Iron Legacy plus pull another card from my deck thanks to Retcon.)

Guise spins around for a while wearing Iron Legacy's shoulder pads before turning around quickly and slamming them back onto Iron Legacy's shoulders.  "Ach, their so 90s!"

He specializes in drawing and playing lots of cards.  He can even do it during other peoples turns.  The downside is that all his Ongoing cards destroy themselves after a single round, so he doesn't get to keep things in play.  This is an advantage, though, against villains like Iron Legacy that either give you no time to set up, or destroy setups, since you don't need to be setup to be at your best.  And yes, he's stinking hillarious. Note--in universe his powers are that he's a shapeshifter, but can't alter his general color scheme.  Being insane the results are usually hillarious.

So you draw

Bunker emerges back into the fray, clad anew in the antiquated armour. He also has a gattling gun. "You're losing your touch in your old age, Legacy" he says opening fire, "wrong planet".

Play Gatling Gun on IL for 3 damage (2+nemesis) and discard one of the grenades.

Gatling Gun only acts at the start of your turn, before you get to do anything normally, so you can't actually do damage with it until your next turn.  It also isn't a power and acts automatically.

If you still wish to do this, you can still use your power.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That makes it Tachyon's turn.

Since you're a new player, a brief explanation here.  Each Hero turn consist of 5 phases
1. Start--Do anything a card says to do at the start of your turn
2. Play--play up to 1 card
3. Power--Use up to one of your powers.  You always have your base power and cannot lose it.  Other cards my grand you additional powers.  Any text on a card after "Power:" is a power.
4. Draw--draw up to 1 card.  If you both did not play a card and also did not use a power, you may draw up to 2 cards instead.
5. End--Do anything a card says to do at the end of your turn.

Everything also always happens in that order, unless a card says otherwise.

Then I can use my power, then draw a card.

You're absolutely fine for the order!

The only problem there is that you'll have dealt more than 5 damage thanks to the Nemesis bonus - IL would redirect it on to Guise. So, depends how much you like DJ.

If redirection works only once,we might as well get it over with.
Sorry DJ  :(

Post by: Reepicheep on March 14, 2015, 08:58:13 AM
Nah, it'll work for the first hit on every turn - the only way to stop it is to destroy the card, like how DJ just destroyed Final Evolution.

It's annoying because it puts a limit on how much damage we can do each turn, so we need to destroy that card pretty soon. The Naturalist looks like he'll have a chance next round.

It's up to you how you want to play your cards now, but my suggestion would be to just play nimble strike until we can get rid of that redirection.

Question Cat: does 'single source' refer to an attack or to a hero - because if it considers each move separately as a single source then I'm wrong about the above and Spade should totally go ahead with his idea. :)

You're wrong.  :D The wording is odd; it has to come as a single chunk.  This ability essentially makes him nuke proof, smaller instances of damage get through.

That being the case, I think the better card to zap is the one that allows him to heal whenever we use a power.  That will heal him at least 10 hp a round.  And that's assuming we don't do extra power shenanigans.

Post by: catwhowalksbyhimself on March 14, 2015, 01:22:12 PM
No, ALL  of your damage would go through.

Supersonic deals damage twice, both under 5 points, so neither one gets redirected.

Also, I goofed when adjusted the sheets.  Guise destroyed the card that heals on power use.  Demoralization is actually still around.  You probably want to kill that one next.

This means that Tachyon deals a respectable 8 points of damage and draws 3 cards!  Also everyone else gets to draw one too.

This game is extremely literal.  It does not allow you to hit a target more than once.  Every target you choose still only takes 3 damage.  Which still isn't that bad.

Come to think of it, this is actually a pretty good team to take IL on.  Except for Bunker, none of the heroes really need much setup and can just go in pounding, as you've seen.

And it's Dark Visionary's turn, since that was kinda easy to miss back there.

Visionary's musings come whispering into your minds.  "Guise really does create quite the dramatic etheric disturbance, doesn't he?  All that Chaos and Improbability . . . I think we can capitalize on that!"

(Play Twist the Ether on Guise.  General orders are to boost his damage output unless Superhuman Redirection is still in play and the attack would trigger it, in which case I'll reduce his damage.  Generally I will let DJ pick the damage type, but this should get us around any damage type specific defense IL can set up.)

"And now, tyrant, your turn.  What lies on your personal time horizon, hm?" (Turmoil on Iron Legacy)

Top 2 are
Flying Assault: One-Shot--Iron Legacy deals the (H) minus 1 Hero Targets with the highest HP (H) minus 1 Projectile Damage each.Destroy 2 Equipment cards.
Galvanized: Ongoing--Increase Damage dealt by Iron Legacy by 1. This card is indestructible.

Team talk time . . . I'm more inclined to leave him the one shot rather than an indestructible damage buff. Thoughts?

Yeah, get rid of the indestructible damage buff cause I can't get rid of it with Retcon like I can with either Superhuman Redirection and Demoralizing Presence.  Which talking about that, which one should I Retcon next round anyways?  I'm leaning towards Redirection but Demoralizing Presence would mean less damage to us...

I would say redirection,so we can do some nuking. :)

My vote would be demoralising presence. I think we're still a couple rounds away from being able to deal more than 5 damage in one attack.
Title: Re: Sentinels of the Multiverse Game 6 (AKA Cat tries to kill you attempt #1)
Post by: Uncle Yuan on March 15, 2015, 07:32:38 PM
I agree with Demoralizing Presence going next. Plus, with only 32 hp nukes are less critical.

Ok, so the one shot stays on top, the damage buff goes on the bottom.

I'll play Nimble Gazelle so i can destroy some ongoings next round.
Then use its power to heal 3 hp back.

Iron Legacy sure is fast to deal lots of damage to everyone.

Draw a card to end my turn.

I'm not super familiar with Iron Legacy's deck.  The only thing that will really hinder us if he gets too many of those indestructible damage buffs or one-shot heals.  Otherwise we should be able to deal with other ongoing cards.  Between the 5 team members only GI Bunker doesn't have a way to remove ongoings, and Visionary's is a power.  Still, those ongoings may be the limiting factor, especially if they accumulate faster than we can deal with them (although Visionary's base power can help keep that in check).  I'd say not more than 1-2 rounds, honestly.

Title: Re: Sentinels of the Multiverse Game 6 (AKA Cat tries to kill you attempt #1)
Post by: Outcast on March 16, 2015, 10:06:12 AM
Yeah. We should probably get those ongoings destroyed first. As well as set our defenses and attack cards up.

Once Iron Legacy's HP goes below 20hp, we better be able to inflict more damage than how much he would heal himself.

Guise and I can destroy at least 3 ongoings next round.

"You know what would really make you intimidating, IL. I can call you IL right? Ribbons!!"  Guise quickly produces and strewns pink ribbons all over Iron Legacy's outfit. (Retcon Demoralizing Presence and draw the card from that)  "Oh yeah, now that is intimidating!!  SO intimidating!!!"  (Draw card and end turn.)

Spade - looking at your hand, all you have is cards that do damage, which aren't terribly useful right now.  This is one of those times where not playing a card and not using a power in order to draw two cards makes a lot of sense.

Unless, of course, he's playing Team Leader Tachyon, in which case that has no benefit whatsoever.  Skipping his play phase, using his power, then drawing gets him exactly the same number of cards, plus gives everyone else one too.

Strip Legacy of his buffs and protections and hit him hard.  Hopefully Visionary can lock down his deck and everyone else dog piles on IL.  He has relatively few HP, so if folks come in swinging it should only take a round or two.  My advice is is to take the next round or two to build ourselves up, then have Guise zap the Meteor Storm.  The rest of us drop him to 21 HP over the rest of that round (so he doesn't flip), then knock him out the next round.

Visionary's eyes glow an intense blue-white as tendrils of psychic energy swirl and gently embed themselves in the collected heroes and their foe.  That should give me some degree of control over everyone's probability fields . . . (Play Mental Divergence) . . . but I think we should still offer our Dear Leader some guidance for his next move. (Power Turbulence on Iron Legacy)

If you retrieve a Retcon, you can do both, since Retcon grants you an extra card play anyways.  Where Did I Leave that can allow you to pull one from the trash if you don't draw another one.

And to answer the original question, you go first in turn order, so it has to be you.  If someone after you does it, you still wont' be able to deal damage.  But the Retcon solution I mentioned can get around that.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I think Armored Fortitude on top because we can zap it after it's played. Plus, Former Allies will play another card which we won't have any control over.  What do others think?

I agree. If we can knock it out the round it's played, then it'd be inconsequential. Mental divergence is a blessing!

Sorry. Some things in RL that needed my attention...

Yeah. I agree with what most have said and planned. Mental Divergence was the one card i was really hoping for from Visionary. I think it's her most useful card. It can be used both for offense and defence. Very useful when one has powerful/useful ongoing defenses that break after 1 use. And Guise seems to have ongoing cards like that.

I'll play Crafty Assault to destroy 2 of IL's Superhuman Redirection Ongoing cards. Use Gazelle power to heal a bit more and draw a card to end my turn.

Just say when or in what round will we begin the attack on Iron Legacy guys.

So i can transform to Crocodile mode for more attack options.

It is now Wagner's turn

Start: Nothing

Play: Maintenance Level: At the end of the Environment turn, play the next Environment card. At the start of the Environment turn, if each player shuffles their trash into their Hero deck, destroy this card. When this card is destroyed, if "Self-Destruct Sequence" is in play, put this card on top of the countdown pile.

End: Maintenance Level plays Oxygen Leak: Reduce all Fire Damage by 3. At the end of the Environment turn, 1 Player may discard 1 card to destroy this card. At the start of the Environment turn, deal each Target X Toxic Damage, where X = the number of cards in the Environment trash.

Does anyone wish to discard a card to destroy Oxygen Leak?

I think while the Meteor Storm is still in effect, we really don't need to get rid of Oxygen Leak just yet.

And if Tachyon were to discard cards, it would be to her benefit if it were burst type cards (like Accelerated Assault) to power up her one shot attacks. Like Sonic Vortex and Lightspeed Barrage. Having a lot of burst type cards in your trash, you can use Lightspeed Barrage to deal a huge amount of damage against Iron Legacy.

i.e your "nuke".

On the other hand I do think we should go ahead and deal with Oxygen Leak now while there is no pressure to do so.  If Spade doesn't end up discarding anything I'm prepared to discard Demoralization - which is more useful against villains with lots of targets like Dawn or Voss.

The possibility that we may have not have the time to get rid of Oxygen Leak later on as more cards get played did cross my mind. Sure, i'm ok with one of you guys discarding a card you don't need to get rid of it.

True.  But as Outcast pointed out, there's another consideration: discarding a card with the "Burst" trait on it will pull dual duty - zap the environment card and build your "burst" engine.

Sorry, but yeah, that was my mistake.  Both copies of Retcon are in the trash.  This is why he reacted the way he did when it was suggested he be the one to destroy Meteor Storm and why I pointed out that he could always retrieve a Retcon from the trash.

Also, you could still play it this turn.  Your power gives you an extra card play, remember?  It would mean giving up a ton of damage though.  18 points of it, in fact.

I think the tactic Cat is thinking will. It would mean this round I use Where did I leave That to get Retcon out of my trash. On my next turn, I'd play Retcon, followed by Look What I found, my power, then Blatant Reference. I'd then discard a card each of your heroes turns to cause more damage. I think that's right.   Edit: Swap the spots on Blatant Reference and Look what I Found. That should give me the 18 damage. If so, then this round we need to strip IL of defensive cards and make sure he doesn't get any from his deck.

With Visionary's Twist the Ether effect on Guise, Visionary can add to that damage as well.

I could opt to skip my turn to take out Meteor Storm this round. So Guise can start his combo attack.

But Dark Visionary will be taking out IL's Armored Fortitude this round, so she can't check what card IL is going to play next round.

There are some cards that can stop Guise's plan to deal that much damage. Like probably, Iron Justice and Beat Down.

1 Galvanized
1 Former Allies

OK, I'm looking ahead to my next turn.  I'm thinking of playing Suggestion and killing his Armored Fortitude.  The question is what to put on top of his deck.  Is anyone planning on hitting for more than 5 in one shot?  Because I'm thinking that Superhuman Redirection would be the least disruptive.

Actually it was Guise the Barbarian followed by Blatant reference that I was thinking of.  With Twist the Ether, that's 4 damage at the start of every other heroes turn, plus 2 more from your own power.  That's a total of 20 points of damage for one round.  Which is a lot.

Look what I found is nice, but it only increases the next instance of damage.  Guise the Barbarian increase all of it.

So, is anyone planning on doing 5 or more damage in a single blow during the next round?

Well, even if i can deal around 5 hp damage next round, i don't think it would be needed.

With Guise's combo of Retcon to destroy meteor storm and play Guise the Barbarian, then play Blatant reference using his power, Iron Legacy will be knocked out after Dark Visionary's turn.

Suggestion would make sure no surprises will come to stop this plan.

If Guise can knock out 18-20hp next round, I think the rest of us going all out will have no problem at all.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, when actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective view point it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.  So, as my fellow time-traveling friend Omnitron X would never say, let's get wibbly-wobbly!"

There is a dizzying swirl of energy and everyone feels their stomach clench.  Subjective time slows as phantom images of the battle appear, extending in a confusing mix of directions and orientations.  The Visionary flits effortlessly through the various time streams, pushing and tugging specific moments one way or another, rearranging Iron Legacy's time to her own criteria.  As a last action she reaches into an image that appears to represent Iron Legacy's last actions, and with a pinching motion reminiscent of manipulating a smart phone, removes it from the time ball entirely. (Suggestion to put Superhuman Redirection on top, Flying Assault on the bottom.  Mental Divergence to destroy Armored Fortitude.)

The entire room suddenly seems to drop three inches and the phantom images disappear.  The Visionary absently wipes a small trickle of blood from her left nostril.  "That should keep things predictable for a moment or two.  He'll reestablish that annoying redirection ability, but if no one hits him too hard it shouldn't trouble us.

Well, since Guise can destroy the Meteor Storm during his turn and begin dealing some damage afterwards, i don't need to skip my turn to destroy it then. Unless of course on the off chance that the next card the Environment plays is another Meteor Storm.

I'll just play Natural Form's Power. Then use it's power to let Team Leader Tachyon draw 2 cards.

I'll then draw a card to end my turn.

If this goes according to plan it should only be another turn.  Worst case scenario it plays another Meteor Storm and we push things back by a turn.  The only other really disruptive card is Pervasive Red Dust, which will destroy all Equipment in play, and this is not an equipment heavy team and only Bunker will really be affected.  I'm fine with leaving it in play.

Maintenance Level gives the Environment an extra card to play per round. But it looks like the only real threat to our plan to finish of IL next round is another Meteor Storm.

Since most seem to agree. Guess we'll be taking our chances and leave Maintenance Level in play then. :P Destroying it later could still prove useful just in case the Self-Destruct Sequence comes into play.

Patience, please.  I do have other things going on besides this game.

Start: Players pass on destroying Maintenance Level

Play: Villainous Weaponry: 5 hp--Increase Damage dealt by Villain Targets by 1.

End: Maintenance Level plays Self-Destruct Sequence: When this card comes into play, put the top 2 cards of the Environment deck face down next to it. That pile is the Countdown Pile. If the Countdown Pile is ever empty, everyone dies. Game over. At the start of their turn, a Player may skip the rest of their turn to put the top card of the Environment deck onto the Countdown Pile. At the start of the Environment turn, if the Countdown Pile contains (H) plus 2 cards, the sequence has been aborted and the Countdown Pile and this card are destroyed. Otherwise, discard the top card of the Countdown Pile.

That makes it Iron Legacy's turn.

Start: Still about 20 hp, so no flip

Play: Superhuman Redirection: Ongoing   The first time Iron Legacy would be dealt 5 or more Damage from a single source each turn, redirect that Damage to the Hero Target with the highest HP.

End: Tries to hurt everyone, but can't.

That makes it Guise's turn.

While it won't stop me from proceeding, there are actually 5 Hero turns, so if you have one more card, you can discard one more card for even more damage.  I forgot that your own turn counted in my damage calculations.

In a given turn you can only use a specific power one time, so you can't use Grenade Launcher twice on your turn.  You do get a +1 damage bonus for Turret Mode, however.

On Viz's last turn she destroyed Armored Fortitude.  For which, I believe, Bunker should have drawn a card.

Hey, it was one of the most likely cards to expect. :P At least its only fitting to leave Iron Legacy there as the base explodes anyway. The heroes will have time to get out of there. Especially with Team Leader Tachyon there.

Speaking of which, i think Tachyon can finish Iron Legacy on her turn with the help of Guise of course.

That's 4 damage, followed by 4 from Guise.

Heroes Win!

I see that my next attempt to kill you will have to be far more serious.  So next time will be the Chairman.  Possibly in Rook City if I'm feeling especially mean.

But that will not be the next game.  Next game I was thinking something different like the Vengeance Five, five different villain decks that all play at the same time, on before each hero.  Or you all can pick something else.

Holy crap, Guise just made mince meat out of him.

Totally up for Vengeance Five next time. I don't think Bunker was a very fun choice, so glad to put him to bed.

Bunker can be pretty decent, but this was a combination of particularly bad villain matchup plus really bad initial draw.  Still, lots of other things to try.

I can imagine, but yes. I want to try out a variety rather than stick to one, so it'll be a while before I see him again.

I think I'll return to Omni-X before long though. Definitely my favourite so far.

So if its possible:
-Hud googles
-Fleet of foot
-Lightspeed barrage
-use my power
-draw a card

That's too many cards.  HUD Goggles would only allow the play of one additional card this turn (playing HUD Goggles was one of the two plays permitted this turn).

It's moot, however, since the "best play" would be Lightspeed Barrage for 3 points, plus Guise's 4, leaves IL at 1.  Then on my turn I play Mind Spike and take him out.

So, as predicted, a short game, facilitated by an early Meteor Storm and being able to quickly wipe out IL's ongoings.  And excellent play by the assembled heroes.  Thanks for another fun game, Cat!  And next time you can run advanced Chairman at Rook City . . . that's should do the trick.

1 additional,not 2 MAX,right?So 1 more,plus FoF gives another +1 card?

Even without HUD Goggles, I think he could still play Fleet of Foot then play Lightspeed Barrage for 4 points since the Fleet of Foot (burst) card would be in the trash by then.

I also forgot about the Nemesis bonuses for Bunker and Tachyon, so that's 2 more damage, although it wouldn't change anything.

Vengeance Five involved more than the usual book keeping, so I'll probably delay that until the other forum game I am running ends, or at least is reasonably close.

Looking forward to it.

While we're taking dibs, I wouldn't mind having a stab at KNYFE.
