Title: Custom Loading Screens
Post by: BentonGrey on July 08, 2016, 02:00:40 AM
Howdy guys, I'm having an issue with something that should be working (it's been that kind of day).  I've done custom interface art for all of my mods, so I know the basics of it.  I've also done it for the individual missions for my Pulp Adventures mod, so I know (in theory) how to do that.  Yet, I've done everything I know to do, and the mission loading screens for Marvel Adventures aren't showing up, just the generic loading screen.

Unko has created the art for me, and I used the files from my Pulp mod, which I know work, as a base.  I've got the files set up in art/library/interface_scenes/avengers_1/scene.nif, with the textures folder in that final directory. The textures files are named correctly, and everything seems copacetic.

I've created the Res entries for the missions, name them is_MISSIONNAME, and pointing the data path in the right direction.  What am I missing?

Could be my export settings?
I forget... does anybody know the best settings for exporting dds files?

I use Paint.NET and save it as a .dds set to A8R8G8B8 with "Generate Mipmaps" unchecked

I don't think so, Unko.  I switched out the files from my Pulp mod and got the same results.  There's something wrong with the setup on my end.  I just don't know what.

I've just double checked.  I switched a Marvel screen with one from the Pulp mod, and it worked fine in that mod.  So clearly I'm missing something in my FFEdit setup for MA.

D'oh!  I need to get my eyeglass prescription checked!  The loading screens start with L S, not I S, but ls and is look pretty similar on my monitor...whoops!  Problem solved, and now we've got awesome Unko loading screens!

I know how you feel, Benton. It's tough getting old, huh? I'm glad you found the problem.   :D
