What do you think of Star-Lord's original costume?
Option 1: Love
Option 2: Like
Option 3: Meh
Option 4: Dislike
Option 5: Hate
I was planning to do some DC Rebirth costumes, but we'll put that on hold because Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 is out - so let's look at some Guardians costumes! We'll start with Peter Quill's beginnings, so here is the original look of the Star-Lord:

Dislike. Like... I'm not too much of a fan of the helmet designs for pre-movie SL, but even that is an improvement over whatever this is.
While I like it, that helmet is a pain. I think Steve Gan was the artist on the original appearance, and John Byrne spiffed it up a little for his second appearance. This version owed more to Star Wars than anything else.
The helmet and belt are my favorite parts. Then again, i grew up on He-Man and he reminds me so much of Stratos.
Picture is broken, but if we're talking about this:

Then dislike. Not a fan of the helmet or the belt.
Yep that's the one. The image is working again for me.
Interestingly I just read that this particular version of Star-Lord is now non-canon. He still wore this costume (or something very similar) but all his stories pre-2000 are apparently shifted to an alternate reality due to changes in his origin in more recent comics.
Gave this a Dislike.
Most of it is overly bland, and the parts that aren't like the helmet are too weird looking.
It really is amazing that Star-Lord went on to become a significant character in the Annihilation era comics and especially the movies.
"Like". This just screams '70s, which totally works for me. As for the Helmet, it's kind of an odd concept, but I like it, it stands out. Now mind you, I did a google search to look at other pics of this costume before I made up my mind, which is why I went with a "Like", instead of a "Meh".
