I am trying to attach a belt(oval solid object) to a mesh by pasting the branch of the belt to the pelvis node of the mesh. This seems like the logical place to place it. In the game however when the mesh runs/walks the belt moves. It does not stay put.  Is there a place that I can learn more about where/how to anchor pieces to meshes for FFvTTR?

The pelvis node should work. Have you tried deleting the NiSkinInstance from the belt?

Not sure how to do this. Here is what I am looking at http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n301/captmorgan72/nifskope.jpg

You need to be looking at the "Block List" window, not the "Block Details" one. If it's not already open, you can find it in the "View" menu.

Find the belt node, then open it up until you see the "NiSkinInstance". Right-click on that, and "Remove Branch". This will probably cause it to be shifted off to the side, so you'll have to move it back into place, but it should stay put after that.

First, I want to really thank you for helping me. Now here is what I am experiencing in the game. When the mesh walks the belt does this from the front http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n301/captmorgan72/DocSamson1.jpg You see how it sticks out? Then from the rear it does this http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n301/captmorgan72/DocSamson2.jpg The belt disappears into the back.

Now here is what I am doing to try to fix it based on your instructions. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n301/captmorgan72/NifskopeSamson.jpg

I noticed though that there are several belt nodes, or at least I think they are, like this one http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n301/captmorgan72/skope.jpg

I removed the NiSkinInstance block but the belt still moves around like in the pictures.
