Okay, that is a huge list, but luckily for you, some of those have actually already been done.

Ghostbusters: http://www.alexff.com/downloads/C6/other/Ghostbusters_4Pack.zip There is also a Marshmallow Man in Texas Jack's yahoo group.

Ash from Evil Dead: http://www.alexff.com/downloads/C6/other/Ash.zip

GNI did a brilliant Alien. There are also spartans from 300, Power Rangers, Danny Phantom, etc. around. Just check the yahoo group and master mesh list.

Also, you realise there is a converter for FF1 meshes to convert them for FFVTTR?

Eeeeeeegads :shock2: thats alot lot of requests for a new member.  Usually when making a request you would request one or two characters that you would really like to have in the game and then hope that a mesher/skinner also shows intrest in the characters. But requesting 400+ characters on your very first post...thats...um.......I um...yeah......

Well, er good luck and welcome to the forums!
Also, 99% of the meshes for the first game work with the second game with the Nif Converter.

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm not exactly great at making meshes or skins, as I never made one before.

I actually have some interest in doing some Naruto characters, but they'd be from the 2nd part of the series. The chances of me actually doing them are very low though.

I did Danny Phantom  and Phantom Danny, if you check my Skins thread (Da Glob's Skin-A-Rama), the first post has a link to three of the four Character Obscura Yahoo groups, and a list of what is at those groups (Click on the Spoiler icon).

I've seen Mario, Link and Kirby, Jason, Freddy Krueger (I'm pretty sure Lord Emshiddy has one, along with some video game characters), Leatherface, and Michael Meyes have been done. It was Gni that did Geiger's Alien. I've wanted to do a cartoon with Sinestro going after Ben 10, Ben insisting that he isn't a GL, but I don't think anyone has done a skin. We really need a Slimer. I THINK I've seen Sonic, but I'm not sure. Sub Zero and Scorpion have been done.

Do check out the Master Mesh List and the Master Yahoo List.

These might help too:

http://www.geocities.com/freedomportal/links.html
http://newpowerinc.com/Links_page.htm

Some of the links are dead, but a lot are active. When you get to an active site, see if it has a links page. I've found some rather obscure stuff that way.

And welcome.

Now hear this! Thanks to the pirate ship mesh at Furst Force, I'm adding one more thing to the KND mesh requests (as a good alternate skin): Captain Stickybeard's ship, the Sweet Revenge.

These are some strange requests. What good would some of these be in a Freedom Force game? Maybe I just don't get it.... Good luck to ya.

You should note that most FF meshes can be converted for use in  :ffvstr: using EZ NIF Converter.

I know wingzero2525 did a copy for Naruto and Temari (which I skinned), but I'm having trouble tracking down his yahoo groups.
What do ya' know? I've got a yahoo group! Check it out, man!

Welcome to the community Neros!  That is an awful lot of requests.  My advice to you would be to pick a category that you REALLY want to see done, and focus on that.  It also helps to provide links to pictures of requested characters.

There are three things I will say in this thread, and it will probably be the only three things I say in regards to it:

1. It's very inconsiderate to fill a thread with HUUUUUGE pictures. Thumbnail those suckas.

2. You're hotlinking most of those images I actually checked. That's considered a huge "no-no" by most sites as you're stealing bandwidth. Either use your own space or make clickable links.

3. I like Sonic and all...but really, none of those characters even make sense in this game, imo, and I don't understand the purpose of requesting them. Would you actually play with those meshes/skins in a game like FF when most of their abilities can't even be replicated? I fail to see the logic. *shrugs*

I agree ... Sonic doesn't really suit Freedom Force at all. Plus, that's still too many requests.

Try narrowing it down to ... two.

So, let me see if I understand this right, You honestly believe that a mesher like me(because no skoper could do this) will go out, because of this thread, and...

-spend a week to several months making the base model for ONE of the above characters.
-Create and attach the model to the biped, which the mesher would have to create solely for this model because the male_basic skeleton does not match Sonic.
-Spend another few months making basic animations fit the new biped.
-Spend a much longer period of time on advanced animations (like Werehog's arm movements or Amy's Hammer) which would require 20 minute of additional modeling on top of the additional month or more it would take to animate things in and out
-UVM Map the entire model set, which is an incredibly (seriously INCREDIBLY) annoying process taking an hour or so.
-Eithor make a skin themselves (hour or so possibly, sometimes as much as a week) or find a good skinner to do it for them (same time amount as before, but with an additional day or so of back and forth on UVM map, color selection, possible additions, etc)

All this to create a Sonic model that will, because of the low FF polycount, be lower resolution even then Sonic Adventure 1, and will not be able to accurately convey a vast majority about the character that makes him the cool guy he is.

Now, I love Sonic. I do. But that is, essentially, half a year to a full year I, or someone like me, would be working on something like that. And if someone wants to take that up, I'll be one of the first to playtest it. But I, at least, would do so knowing the sheer ammount of work and love put into it, and I don't think you have any real concept of what that means.

Come on guys, let's not be too harsh.  Most people new to the community don't really understand the work that goes into meshing, skinning, or skoping a request.  Tomato's description is a very good cure for this, but we don't want to drive someone away because they don't understand the basic principles of our community.  I'm sure reading Tomato's post will put things in perspective for Neros, so let's focus on educating him.  I know tone is a very slippery thing in text in general, and even more so in the brief (both in creation and consumption) text of the internet, but the posts here seemed a bit on the negative side.

That being said, I should also take the time to say that Prev., Tomato, and Star are right, it isn't very likely that you'll see all of those done.  It is possible that you might see Sonic, and maybe another character done, but this community just isn't big enough to tackle something like that.  Not to mention the fact that this is something of a niche request, so the interest that you generate might not be enough to give you the results you want.  So, don't be disappointed if tons of people don't jump to skin and mesh Sonic and his friends. :)

Neros, the Best thing you might do is start another request thread, and request Sonic and a few others. I looked at The Master Mesh List, and it doesn't list a Sonic, but I still think I might have seen one. Not being all that intrested, I don't know if I downloaded it or not; I haven't found it on my hard drive or in a cursory look through my CDs. Of course, I could just be imagining things.

But I know Lord Emshiddey did quite a few Japanese-type characters, including an anime furry that you can hex-edit. Somewhere I have a fox girl with 12 or so tails, and Valander did Male Basic Anime (Which I've tried to turn into Alfred E. Newman with no success).

http://www.geocities.com/melvindove2002/

Check the Master Yahoo Groups list for Valandar.

And, like I said, request Sonic in a thread all his own.

You guys are right. I'm sorry about what I did. I am new at this, you know.

And I also should indeed get a Yahoo thread and make the Sonic mesh request list there.

In fact, I made this just now if anyone wants to join and be a part of the group: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/nerosurameshi/

If you edited the post with all the pics in so that they were in "spoiler" tags, like this:

it would help a great deal.

Hiding them is great and all, but you're *still* stealing bandwidth. Again, that's considered a "no-no". Unless the site specifically states it's ok to hotlink their images, you shouldn't do so.

ETA:

Not to mention this forum has a rule against it, so I'd probably abide by said rules.

13. Direct linking of images others are hosting for use on their sites without permission is known as "bandwidth theft" and is a violation of our terms of service. Make sure that any images you use in avatars or signatures as well as any you include in messages are ones that you host on your own site or on one of the many free image-hosting sites.

If you edited the post with all the pics in so that they were in "spoiler" tags, like this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

it would help a great deal.

Done.

Then I'll move all of it into a request thread entitled Sonic. I'll delete the whole Sonic image post. But.. do I need to show images in my Sonic request thread or put it in the spoiler thing?

You can just post the addresses of the pictures, that way you don't take up tons of space, nor do you steal bandwidth.

From a purely search perspective, stealing bandwidth (aka hotlinking) is a problem of the past. If anything he's increasing the number of backlinks pointing at that domain and posting related text near the images (a image of Sonic near text about Sonic will show up higher on Google Images instead of getting lost in the ether) which is infinitely more important for SEO (he's doing more help than harm honestly).

Now, I'm not saying we should all start hotlinking images because we have rules around these parts that should be respected, but I can't remember the last time I've seen a website not display images because the bandwidth was used up for the day.

Also there is a Megaman and Megagirl. I know it is like a thousand years old in internet time but it will get you one step closer to seeing your long list of requests filled.

That's why I'm going to fix that mistake and do it in the Sonic thread, which you will see in at least a few minutes.

Is it just me or does this list look a bit like too much for ONE request?
