FFX3 Nemesis

Hey guys, I was wandering whether I was doing something wrong with the Nemesis attibute. I have Abomination setup as the nemesis of Hulk using ffx conrol centre, and he does appear after about 5-10 minutes, but under my control. I thought the idea of the Nemesis attribute was that they appeared and fought against you.

Can anyone help?
