I've posted a much requested tutorial on using Blender to modify meshes. Check it out here.

In the tutorial I walk you though creating this weirdo.

Awesome. Just what I was hoping for. Thanks, E. Now if I can only find the time to play with it.

Nicely done.

However I brought this up in another forum when I realized the latest blender plugins started allowing this kind of editing, I think care should be taken about getting permissions (possibly amending the nifscope permission list) as this is really like nifskope on steroids and has the power to add a lot of new creative possibilities, but also cross some lines that meshers may be uncomfortable with. I remember back in the day whenever importing and modifying nif files in 3D Max was brought up, things always got a little tense... we are kind of seeing a modding resurgence and i wouldn't want that to suffer because of abuses.

but that's just my 2 cents....

Good point Goggles. I'll add any permissions to the list as they come in.

Blender looks like a very powerful tool to create even more variety for this game. Although i'm not really good at understanding these kind of stuff (having a difficult time with nifskope as it is). Thanks Ewzzy for taking the time and trouble to make the links and tutorial.  :xancool

I have had no look using blender to work with nifs  I may have downloaded or uploaded something wrong is there anyone who can give me a blow by blow of how to download and set up blender?
At the end of the day all that matter is that I tried, right?

Ewzzy

Thanks for replies. This opens up a new world for many of us to play in. It is worth noting, as always, great power comes with great responsibility.

@Outcast: I don't really understand it all that well either. I know that there will be people far better at this than me. I just hope someone can take my tutorial and run with it.

@Failed_Hero: My your name is appropriate, isn't it. Lets see if we can, un-fail you. Are you getting any errors in particular? Without more information, I can only recommend un-installing Blender, PyFFI, NifScripts, and Python then re-installing them in the order I prescribe in the tutorial.

Failed_Hero

How can you remove a head in blender?or delete triangles?
At the end of the day all that matter is that I tried, right?

In advance: Any of my base meshes will fall under full permissions for this kind of thing.
