No, 'so' is only two letters.
'solo' is four but also one.
Istanbul was Constantinople

And Byzantium. But that's not in the song. And, presumably, is nobody's business but the Greeks'. Or maybe the Romans'- that would be more directly equivalent, but it wouldn't scan as well.

but that's nobody's business but the Turks.

To be perfectly accurate, Mr. Mr. Hamrick, the Turks have exclusive knowledge of why "Constantinople [got] the works," not that Istanbul was Constantinople, which is common knowledge.

Not that I care.

But... but... what about Byzantium? That nice Greek city, best known under a Latinized version of its name?  Why did IT get the works?

Not that anyone around here cares...

Why they changed it I can't say
People just liked it better that way

They don't know themselves, but i will explain it to the best of them.
Indeed, I will sing to lords and ladies of Byzantium, of what is past, or passing, or to come.

I truly do not care, yet I feel compelled to inform you, BiL, that the correct phrase is "Freedom Asylum down?"

And, Eyebrow, please don't go there.  That is no country for old men--as if I cared.

I would find it easier to believe that Mr. Yeats would beat me senseless before I'd believe he'd be my manservant.

Besides, am I not to speak as an old man?  Am I not a body swayed to music with a brightening glance?  Am I not to be consumed with pondering how we can know the dancer from the dance?

That is, if anyone actually cared one way or the other.

The bears would care (carebears?), as you would too if there was any damage to your bathroom facilities.

Which leads to the next question:  If a bear...I don't think I care to go there.

Yes a bear goes in the woods, mostly near Bearded's house if possible.

You're not wrong there.  If the old nursery rhymes are any indication, you can expect the unexpected down at the woods.
