Hero file recipies
« on: October 25, 2011, 02:46:26 AM »
Hi everyone,

I would like to build my hero files from scratch.  With that in mind, I am wondering if you might post the way you have the following characters built:

Etrigan
Gargoyle
Solomon Grundy
Antman (pym)
Baron Blood
Brimstone
Americommando
Battlestar
Die hard
Guardian - DC
Red Guardian - shield
Captain America
Super Soldier
The Badge
USAgent
Captain America Jr
Deadman
Defensor
Dr. Pym
Frankenstein's Monster - Marvel
Ghost Rider
Goliath
Giantman
Iron Avenger Giantman
Isis - DC 52
Isis - Marvel
Isis - 70s TV
Morbius
Namora - Exiles
Namora - Agent of Atlas
Namorita
Nighthawk - Defenders
Nosferatu
Satana
Sif
Simon Garth - the Zombie
Wasp (hank pym)
Wonder Woman - 70s TV
Yellowjacket

As always, any assistance would be most appreciated.

For the most part, I use either Benton's or USAgent's Hero Files. That may be a good place to start.

Hey CB, cool, I didn't know anybody used my herofiles. :D

SCD, I've got a handful of your Marvel requests, and I've got a couple of the DC ones in the DCUG.  Before I got super busy I was working on my Marvel project, so I had put several characters together for a few different campaigns and a few others just to mess around with.  They're build according to my new herofile strategy, and they haven't been balance tested as much as the DCUG pantheon.  Still, if you're interested in them I can send them to you or just post them here.

:EDIT: I have a few extra minutes this morning, so I went ahead and dug out my Marvel herofiles.  It should be noted that I usually use USAgents excellent files as a base:
First up, Antman and Giantman, parts of my Hank Pym build that I'm only just beginning to get where I want it.  The Antman form is built to be very hard to hit and to have a certain amount of versatility.

Antman:

His "twelve foot fighting height" is built to be a moderate tank, tough, but not nearly as hard to crack as the Avengers' real heavies, like Thor, Iron Man, or Hercules.  Instead, he's got a measure of versatility as well.

Giantman (12 foot):
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

His 60 foot giant size is the real gangbuster of his forms.  He's easy to hit, but not easy to hurt, and his attacks often hit multiple foes and are set up in FFEdit to have a long reach.

Giant Man (60 ft).:

Continued-

My Ghostrider hasn't been balanced as thoroughly as I'd like.  He's had some testing, but he'll probably see at least some change before I'm happy with him.  My favorite mesh for the character is somewhat limited in terms of animations, so he isn't as fleshed out as I would choose.

Ghostrider:

I've got a Baron Blood build.  As a matter of fact, he shows up in one of my campaigns, but since I have never read a single comic with him in it, I can't speak to this file's accuracy.  I mostly just used my standard formula for vampires.

Baron Blood:

Alright, there they are.  I hope they prove helpful to you!

Hi Benton,

This is a huge help!! Thanks!

Any interest in taking a shot at the others on my list?  I am not good at hero files but would like to build everything from scratch.

Respectfully,
Io

I'm glad to be of service SCD!  I'll probably get around to Sif eventually, as she should really show up in my Thor campaign at some point, but that isn't likely to happen in the near future.  As far as the rest of your list, I'm afraid I'm not really all that familiar with most of them.  I'd definitely check out USAgent's files, though, as I imagine he's got most of them built.

I believe I have sif somewhere, but just to let you know, I change the way I do my Herofiles so very often. I do, however, keep them balanced with whatever set I'm using at the moment :P

The DCUG supplies quite a bit, both with meshes/skins and herofiles.

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much!  I have a lot of different hero files but can not get my dat exporter to work so that I can look at them and build my own.

Respectfully,
