Update 6 Patch notes

Combat Rating / Item Level! These are two statistics that have existed under the hood that we are now making public! Each item has an “Item Level” that roughly indicates the power of the item. When worn together, your “Combat Rating” is a measure of your total effectiveness in combat and is based on the weighted average of the best equipment you own per slot. This means your Combat Rating improves as you earn better gear. Players can find their Combat Rating under the Stats section in their Inventory. The tougher Hard Mode Alerts will now have a minimum Combat Rating that must be met before you can queue for them.

New Raid! Defeat Zod to regain control of the Sunstone Crystal Matrix! Queue for the Fortress of Solitude: Sunstone Matrix under the Raids section in your On Duty menu. Combat Rating: 53

 

General:

- The Society has managed to steal the plans for the new stations being installed in the JLA Watchtower. They've begun assembling them in each wing of the Hall of Doom but its function remains classified. Both organizations have begun installing additional stations in some of the city safehouses, but remain tightlipped about their objectives.
- Attacks made by Tier 3 enemies, such as those found in the Fortress of Solitude, now ignore 25% of base defense.
- Defense values for Tier 3 armor have been raised.
- Removed the erroneous stats from the Gray quality item, Advanced Telescoping Baton
   Minor Matchmaking Updates:

o        Players are now notified of their assigned group role.
o        A new category section has been added for Tier 2 Duos.

- The player will now be messaged when trying to phase into the phase they are currently in.
- Ignore now works properly with shout, say, trade, versus, league, tell and group chat.
- Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause NPC’s to not drop loot when they were dealt massive amounts of damage and/or knocked out with one hit.
- Mail sent by the Broker to inform you of an item’s sale will no longer have Cash attached. The funds should now be automatically placed into your Cash instead.
- Mail with attachments can no longer be deleted if you have a full inventory.
- Running the game in windowed mode should no longer cause the cursor to travel outside of the window incorrectly.


Movement Modes:

Acrobat:

    Launching Roll should now play effects more consistently.
    Updated UI descriptions for Grapple Line and Glide Line to better describe how to perform the ability.

 
Flight:

    Fliers should be able to turn correctly after using the Phase Shifter.
    Fliers should no longer slide while animating for the Air Burst and Low Pressure abilities.

Super Speed:

        Speedsters should no longer slide while animating for the Speed Drain ability.


Powers:

Fire:

- Abilities no longer apply an additional 25% bonus health buff. This affects: Absorb Heat, Backdraft, Burning Determination, Wild Fire, Consume Objects, and Stoke Flames.
- In addition to increasing their maximum Health by 60% when using super powers, Fire Tanks now gain additional Health based on their Dominance score. The increase is slightly more than 2 additional Health for every point of Dominance.
- Healing caused by Fire abilities now scale with Dominance combined with Restoration. This affects: Absorb Heat, Backdraft, Burning Determination, Wildfire, Burnout, Consume Objects, Fiery Weapon, Stoke Flames, Eternal Flame and Reignition.

 
Gadgets:

- Turrets that use cryogenic rounds will play effects more consistently.
- The damage prevention effect of Hide now scales and prevents damage equal to about 50% of your Restoration score and 100% of your Dominance combined. The cooldown has been decreased to 20 seconds. Non-stealth game effects can now persist after the stealth effects have ended.
- The damage prevention effect of Neural Neutralizer now scales and prevents damage equal to about 50% of your Restoration score and 100% of your Dominance combined. The shield now persists for five seconds.
- The healing caused by Anesthetic now scales with Dominance combined with Restoration. The cost has been decreased to 35% supercharge.

 
Ice:

- Winter Ward no longer applies an additional Defense buff.
- Winter ward, Bitter Winds and Shatter Restraints again provide a damage prevention effect regardless of role. The damage prevention scales and prevents additional damage roughly equal to 13.5% of your Restoration score combined with 100% of your Dominance.
- In the DPS role, the maximum damage Reflection prevents is equal to 50% of your Restoration and 100% of your Dominance combined.
- The amount healed by Hibernation now scales with your Dominance combined with Restoration.
- Ice Elemental healing now scales with Dominance combined with Restoration. It now prevents additional damage equal to your Dominance combined with Restoration.


Iconic:

- Sonic Cry will now properly apply a stun to an enemy when used.
- The damage prevention effect of Hard Light Shield now scales and prevents damage equal to your Restoration and Dominance score combined.


Light:

- Healing caused by Restore and Triage now scales with Dominance combined with Restoration. The cooldown on Triage has been reduced to 60 seconds.
- The damage prevention effect of Light Barrier now scales and prevents damage equal to 50% of your Restoration and 100% Dominance score combined.
- The damage prevention effect of Group Shielding now scales and prevents additional damage equal to your Restoration and Dominance score combined.
- Using a combination from a tray power no longer turns off hard lock on the target.


Mental:

- The damage prevention effect of Grandeur and Reflect Pain now scales and prevents damage equal to 13.5% of your Restoration score and 100% of your Dominance combined.
- The damage prevention effect of Telekinetic Shield now scales and prevents damage equal to 50% of your Restoration score and 100% of your Dominance combined.
- The damage prevention effect of Bastion now scales and prevents additional damage equal to your Restoration and Dominance scores combined.
- The damage prevention effect of Psychic Shield now scales and prevents damage equal to 125% of both your Dominance and Restoration combined.

 
Nature:

- Nature: Primal Wolf Form: The Slam attack is now vulnerable to block as intended.
- Nature: Swarm Shield now scales the maximum damage it may prevent based upon your Restoration score. It prevents damage equal to 60% of your Restoration while in the Damage role and 125% of your Restoration in the Healer role.

 
Sorcery:

- Sorcery: Boon of Souls now scales the maximum damage it may prevent based upon your Restoration score. It prevents damage equal to 60% of your Restoration while in the Damage role and 125% of your Restoration in the Healer role.


Missions:

 
- Players at level 30 will no longer receive quests for which they are unable to Queue, instead these quests will be granted once the player has reached the required Combat Rating to enter.
Smallville, Arkham Island, and Stryker’s Island will be granted at a combat rating of 34.
- The Batcaves, League of Assassin Stronghold, Kahndaq, and the “Fight for the Light” DLC will be granted at a combat rating of 43. The Fortress of Solitude Raids will be granted at a combat rating of 53.
- Riddler: The First Clue: players no longer need to have the quest active in order to interact with the Riddler box.
- Party Foul (Hero): Joker Bombs should no longer double-spawn in the Hotel.


Weapons:


Dual Wield:
- Equalized the stun range and damage range of Stunning Swipe to that of equivalent powers.
- Increased the duration of vulnerability to interrupt effects after using a Range Tap Block Breaker to bring these in line with other Block Breaker attacks.

Two Handed:
- Increased the duration of vulnerability to interrupt effects after using a Range Tap Block Breaker to bring these in line with other Block Breaker attacks.

Alerts:


HIVE:

- Fixed an issue where Queen Bee would become mute.


Duos:


Ferris Aircraft
- Ambush Bug has stumbled his way into the Ferris Aircraft Duo in Coast City.

Raids:


Fortress of Solitude: Power Core

- Avatar of Meta: Brainiac's Tentacles will now interrupt anyone who attempts to overload the power cores while Brainiac is draining the Fortress of its power.
- Jor-El Fight: Jor-El will no longer succumb to the rigors of battle and stand idly by as his opponents beat him to a pulp.
- Prime Assassin's Affliction bonus is now accurate. Failing to destroy all Affliction Shards in time will cause him to gain this bonus.
- Prime Assassin's Restoration bonus is now accurate. Failing to destroy all Restoration Shards in time will cause him to gain this bonus.


Audio:

Dual Pistols: Attacks should now play appropriate audio hit effects.


Feats:

- The Explore Little Bohemia Feat now correctly lists MPD's 3rd Precinct as a location to visit.
- The Speed Run feats for League of Assassin's Stronghold and Oolong Island (Hard) have been moved to the proper Category in the Feats UI.
- The speed feat for the Smallville Alert will no longer update on zone in.


UI:

- The Blades of the Dragon should now show on your character and in the primary weapon style tab.
- Item level will now be displayed in the UI.
- Combat Rating will now display on the Character Stats UI.
- The Broker inventory now scrolls when needed.
- Fixed case sensitivity issues with /friend of mixed case.
- Fixed case sensitivity issues with /ignore of mixed case.
- Fixed a functionality issue with the Radial Menu while using a controller.
- New Chat Tab edit settings dialog now scrolls properly.
- Group Info panel now displays your assigned role in instances.  If you are assigned a wildcard role, the icon will now display.  This is shown directly below the icon indicating your current stance.
- Fixed an issue with the group invite window not closing properly if a player received the invite while in a quick menu.
- You are no longer able to attempt to create a League if you are not in a group.
- Removed less-than-necessary page dots at the bottom of the Marketplace item list.
- Fixed a crash specific to the UI (frequent on PC).
- Feats with required counts now display progress when expanded.



Marketplace:

- Marketplace performance improvements.
- The preview screen now displays the same purchase availability as the category screen.
- Fixed a minor clipping issue with the Cosmic Angelic Chest for the Brute Male body character type.
- Fixed a minor visual issue with the Sequined Urban & Sequined Biker Gloves on Male characters.



Visual:

- Gadgets: Asphyxiation Gas will now play effects when used.
- Improved the Watchtower Magic wing cool cam event.
- Claws, Boxing, Telekinesis, and Psychic Blades will now play the appropriate color effects.
- The Booster Gold Exploration kiosk in Shen Li Po gardens is no longer floating.
- Little Bohemia Metrodome: Players should no longer find any floating Exobyte canisters.
- Fixed various environmental visual bugs in Metropolis and Gotham City.
- Mail received while the Mail UI is open should no longer appear incorrectly.
- Fixed a minor visual issue with the Angelic shirt for small female body character types.
- Toned down the emissive intensity of all glowing gear items so it would not visually distort in some environments.


PVP:


General:

- Players should no longer show as flagged PVE when in a PVP arena. This bug was causing players to turn “purple” to their enemies and it would make them untargetable and seem invulnerable in PVP Arenas.
- PvP trinkets should now remove Healer and Tank counter-role de-buffs.
- Adjusted the budgets for Tank and Controller PvP armor to include Dominance.
- Tanks who use super powers against Mental, Gadgets and Light players will cancel personal damage prevention and power over time effects.
- Psychic Empowerment, Defibrillator and Recharge when used while in the Control role will now remove Healer role anti-Tank de-buffs.
- The Healer role anti-Tank de-buffs should now also prevent Fire self healing as well as removing Tank buffs and Ice damage absorbing effects. A red de-buff icon is now applied when this effect is active.
- Tier 1 PvP weapons now add 192 Precision when used against players bringing their DPS to 97.1 in PvP. They now also ignore 12% of a player's Toughness.
- Tier 2 PvP weapons now ignore 25% of a player's Toughness.
- Victories in the Batcave and Fortress of Solitude PvP Arena Maps will now count towards the feat "Winning Streak X".

Update 8 Patch notes


New Game Feature-Research & Development! Players are granted a new mission at Level 10 – Look for “Research & Development” in your Mission Journal.

R&D Workstations and Vendors are located in the following locations: Hall of Doom, JLA Watchtower, Burnley and Midtown Nightclubs, Midtown and Diamond District Police Stations.

R&D parts including Exobits, Exobytes, Plans, Focusing Elements and Salvageable items can be found throughout DC Universe Online.

Player Pet Improvement! Summoned Player Pet stats now scale with its owner's combat rating making it more effective and viable in combat situations.

 

General:

    - Fixed an issue where players would not be returned to their last location when using the Batcave Teleporters inside the JLA Watchtower and Hall of Doom.
    - Projectile based attacks should now reliably travel 25m, rather than occasionally falling short or going long.
    - Multiple collection nodes have been lowered to be in reach by non-flying characters.
    - The Defender’s Compartment Trinket buffs are now correctly affected by their cool down.
    - The Speedforce Rift that was directly underneath the Gotham Otisburg Adept Flight Challenge has been moved further away so it will not interfere with this challenge.
    - The Catwoman race path has been adjusted so all players can fit through each race ring.
    - Fixed an issue that could cause player combat rating to not update when receiving an item from a loot bauble. 

Alerts:

Ace Chemicals

    - Fixed an issue causing the doors to close too early on the security waves. The doors will now remain open until the security NPC’s are engaged.
    - There is now a short delay before the Scorecard appears after defeating Chemo.

Area 51

    - Assist Cadmus Agents with Munitions: Cadmus Agents should no longer have memory issues if you have already spoken with them once.

Kahndaq

    - Players with Telekinesis Abilities can now affect the Rigid Bodies in this instance.

Duos:

    - The OMAC Base and Cape Carmine Lighthouse Duos now update the correct amount for the feats Duos Rookie, Expert, Master, Dynamo and Dynamic.
    - Flash Origin Duo: Fixed Joyous Musical jimmies to fire in a slow half-dome rather than shoot straight up into the air in the open area of the boss-fight room.

Feats:

    - New Feats have been added for the DLC “Lightning Strikes” content to bring the possible skill points in-line with the previous DLC, “Fight for the Light”.

Missions:

    - He Wants a Devolution: The door will now open when the “Report to Flash” bulletin appears even if you are KO’d at the same time as Grodd.
    - Unknown Evil: The Minotaur no longer returns after he has been defeated.
    - Supersize Souls: Players that have finished the main quest line are now able to return and receive the Glutton Form to finish the side quest.
    - Raven’s Destiny: Fixed an issue where players could become gated due to the console that grants access to the rest of the Police Station de-spawning.
    - Party Time!:  After defeating Batman or Joker in the final boss fight the door will now open.

 

Marketplace

    - Power Respec Token:  When a player respecs to Light powers the Light power Ring VFX will appear on the player’s hand immediately instead of appearing only after logout or after zoning.

Powers:

    - Updated the remaining tree descriptions for controllers to say they receive 100% Dominance when in Control Role.
    - You will now see blue fly text reporting Power restoration effects instigated from super abilities and consumables.
    - You will now see damage caused by your pets reported as orange fly text.
    - You will now see damage taken by your pets reported as purple fly text.
    - Your pet’s damage, healing and power contributions are now credited to your score card at the end of instances and arena matches.

Electricity:

    - Bio-Capacitor and Invigorate will now properly heal group members when their health falls below 35%.
    - Bio-Capacitor will now properly heal you and a teammate.
    - Voltaic Bolt will now properly apply a de-buff to characters in the Tank Role when you are in Healer Role.
    - Group Transducer's description was updated to reflect that it can damage attacking enemies.
    - Invigorate's heal over time effect will no longer stack with multiple uses.
    - Electrogenesis:  Updated the description to be clearer about target types.

Gadgets

    - The tooltip for Anesthetic now states the correct supercharge cost.
    - Shortened the animation time on Neural Neutralizer

Mental:

    - Grandeur and Reflect Pain now correctly prevent damage roughly equal 100% of your Dominance and 50% of your Restoration.

Nature:

    - Using abilities in Insectoid Form will apply the standard Healing role anti-Tank de-buffs in PvP.

Sorcery:

    - Updated the Watcher, Fury, and Guardian pet to more consistently attack the last enemy you attacked.

User Interface:

    - Map UI: Street view mode: Street view mode now zooms in smoothly and fixed an issue with missing tiles.
    - Map UI: The Player icon now appears as green.
    - Inventory UI: The Stack splitting UI will now always appear in the correct position when using a game controller.
    - Inventory UI: Stack splitting can now be initiated by holding SHIFT and clicking on a stack of items.
    - Inventory UI: Individual items can now be picked up from a stack by holding CTRL and clicking on a stack of items.

 

Visual:

    - Midtown Police Station: The police in Midtown Metropolis have come to the realization that the new pipes they added to their column near the holding cells were placed right on top of a wanted poster. They decided it was easier to move the wanted poster to another face of the column.
    - Icons are now smoother and less aliased!
    - The officials at Stryker's Island Prison have begun a long term renovation to the basic structure of the facility.  The base structure is more durable to deal with the increased power levels of the inmates.
    - The display time for the win/lose duel icons that appear above players heads has been reduced.

Update 9 Patch notes

All servers will be offline tomorrow, 02.02.12, beginning at 8:00 AM PT (5:00 PM CET) for a patch to the DCUO client.  Downtime is anticipated to be less than 4 hours.  Players may notice the following changes:

 

Role Optional Alerts and the Team Buff

Two of the exciting features we’re rolling out for Game Update 9 are Role Optional Alerts and the Team Buff. We have metrics that show us who is queuing for what, how long they’re waiting, and a number of other really useful things. As I’m sure you know when you queue for a Duo, you tend to get in and are able to start playing right away. Alerts are a different story, especially for those of you queuing for the damage role.

It has nothing to do with Duos only requiring two people. It’s that they require any two people. As is common in a lot of MMOs, there is a population disparity between the different roles. There are as many players queuing for Damage as there are all the other roles combined. Healers are the least common, followed by Tanks, and finally Controllers. So the end result is Healers don’t wait long at all, but Damage tends to wait much longer.

All Alerts are now role optional. Generally it shouldn’t take much more than a few minutes for an Alert queue to pop regardless of your role, assuming there are enough people willing to play that Alert. When the matchmaking system tries to form a group out of the pool of queued players it tries to form a balanced group first. As minutes pass, the system becomes increasingly less picky about finding a specific role for a given group slot.

The Role Optional Alert feature is made possible by the Team Buff. Any time three or more players are grouped together, within range, and in line of sight of one another, they gain a bonus to compensate for roles missing from their group.

    If your group is missing a Tank, every group member gains additional damage mitigation.
    If you’re missing a Healer, group members gain a small amount of Health regeneration when they begin to take damage and gain a further health regeneration boost while holding the block button when health is at critical levels.
    If your group is missing a Controller you will gain a small amount of additional power regeneration when your power begins dipping low.

The buffs are by no means a replacement for having the actual role in your group. But with some self reliance, it will provide you with enough of a boost to allow you to complete the Alert successfully. The Team Buff is not applied in PvP arenas, during Legends matches, nor will it function during Duels.

The end result of this is that wait times to get into an Alert should be dramatically decreased. Provided players are queued, you should be able to get into an instance in a matter of minutes, no matter your role.

Novice Raids

In an effort to let more players experience more of the game, we’re launching Novice Raid modes for Game Update 9. Novice Raids are far less demanding than the Expert Raids. They are intended to allow more casual players and random pickup groups a chance to experience some of our best content they might not otherwise be able to experience.

The combat rating requirement is just a little bit lower for Novice Raids so you can hit them a little sooner than you can the Expert version. The content, play flow, and boss fights are identical but the fights themselves are much more forgiving. That’s not to say they will be a complete cake walk! You’ll still need to learn and execute properly on the mechanics of the boss fights if you want to succeed.  Some may find Novice Raids are a great way to get some practice in while they are gearing up for the Expert versions.

Novice Raids do drop loot, however the loot will be of a lower item level. They also award the same badges, but you earn fewer of them. Novice Raids share the same lockout timer as Expert Raids, so you can’t earn loot and badges in both during the same week.

Some existing feats can be completed in either the Novice or Expert version of a Raid. However others such as the speed feats can only be completed in Expert mode. Finally we’ve also added new feats for completing the Expert version of a raid.

New Soder Colas plans available!

Plans for Soder Cola Prime and Soder Cola Max are now available for purchase from Research and Development vendors. These recover more Health and Power than a Soder Cola Extreme but provide no additional buff effect and require no Exobytes to make.

Audio:

    Seeds of Change: Hazmat Rhoades’ Quest VO is now playing correctly.

Collections:

    Fixed several issues with collections spawning in places only reachable by fliers.
    Rose By Any Other Name: Raised multiple Investigations so they do not interpenetrate the ground.
    Adjusted the spawn location of some collections in the Burnley District of Gotham.
    Fixed a section where Paradox Reapers were spawning too close to a Gold Collection in Gotham.

Feats:

    Completing the bounty missions for Flash, Professor Zoom, Black Lightning, and Abrakadabra in Central City will now properly count towards the bounty feats.

Items:

    Items purchased with Marks of Momentum can no longer be sold.

Missions:

    Storming the Ivory Tower: Powergirl will no longer keep players in combat after she is defeated.
    The Hunt for Grodd: Flash will no longer get cold feet and refuse to enter the final room in Grodd's Lair.
    Shipping and Handling: Fixed issue where you could accidentally kill the first detective behind the first gate, and Catwoman would no longer respond.

Weapons:

Two-Handed:

    Corrected an issue that could sometimes cause a fully charged Mega-Smash to only cause the damage of a 50% charged attack.
    Corrected an issue with Home Run that prevented it from striking multiple targets.

Staff:

    Corrected an issue that would allow Focused Spin to be performed faster than intended and reduced the damage on a minimally charged Focused Spin.

One Handed:

    Corrected an issue that would allow Focused Blast to be performed faster than intended and reduced the damage on a minimally charged Focused Blast.

Powers:

Electricity:

         Damage caused by Electrogenesis and Electrocute is now properly split when affecting many targets.
         Damage caused by Electrogensis no longer stacks with itself.

Gadgets:

    Increased the cooldown and decreased damage and damage bonus for Neural Neutralizer.

Light:

    Fan and Light Blast will now properly apply effects to players in healer stance.
    Decreased the cooldown of Light Barrier slightly.

Mental:

    Decreased cooldown of Telekinetic Shield slightly.

Sorcery:

    Reduced the supercharge cost of Arbiter of Destiny to 50%.

Raids:

    Raid groups now have proper group functionality even when not in a raid region.

Fortress of Solitude: The Power Core

    The Avatar of Meta has strengthened and is no longer vulnerable until the Fortress' defenses have been appropriately vanquished first.
    Lex Luthor's path has been adjusted so he is less likely to get distracted and stop helping the cause.

Fortress of Solitude: Sunstone Matrix

    Superman and Lex Luthor will continue to attack others without taking sabbaticals at inappropriate times.

Research & Development:

    Fixed a number of issues causing crafting items not to display properly in the recipe list.
    Recipes will now grey out if the player doesn't have the required materials.
    Fixed an issue that could sometimes display an incorrect quantity on hand when combining items.
    Corrected certain tier I, II and III double stat mods that were adding a Combat Rating value that was lower than intended. Specifically this affected all Tier I, II and III mods of these types: Dominance/Might, Dominance/Precision, Health/Power, Restoration/Might, Restoration/Precision, Vitalization/Might and Vitalization/Precision.
    Attempting to consume an R&D Recipe item for which you are not qualified will display an error dialog rather than a confirmation dialog.

User Interface:

    Chat logs should once again display cash amounts.
    Headlines: Entries in the Deeds->Headlines UI should no longer show a "movie" icon if there is no motion comic associated with that headline.
    Mail: Stacks should now properly display their amounts.
    The Watchtower 5v5 map is now an option when queuing for First Available in the On Duty menu for PvP.
    Some stats will now be displayed in percentages (IE: “25 Critical Healing Chance” will now display as “2.5% Critical Healing Chance”).

Visual:

    Fixed a number of environmental issues throughout Metropolis and Gotham.
    Hall of Doom: Some Tour Cams have been revamped with a more cinematic look.
    JLA Watchtower: Some Tour Cams have been revamped with a more cinematic look.
    Corrected the effects for Sorcery users that have blaster gloves equipped and use Rejuvenate or Condemn.

Check out our new On Duty UI!

In order to provide our players with a better experience when queuing for content, we have re-designed our On Duty UI to be more like the layout of our Mission Journal. Beyond just being familiar, players now have greater control and visibility when queuing.

The new On Duty UI provides players with better feedback! For example, if a player is queuing and does not meet the requirements for the specific content, the On Duty UI now displays messaging as to what criteria the player does not meet. In addition, players now see the status of group members, and will be notified if a member of the party does not meet requirements.

Character Background Selection!

Legendary players and players that have purchased at least one DLC pack will have the option to change their Character Selection Background on the Character Select Screen!

 

Audio:

• When fighting Static, you should find him to be much more talkative now.

Collections:

• Fixed a number of gold collections that would spawn in locations players could not reach.

• Improved placement of a number of Briefings in Metropolis.

Research and Development:

• Harvesting Exobytes while in a group should no longer cause a group roll. If you are the harvester you will receive the harvested materials.

General:

• Players will no longer be able to roll NEED on an item if they are unable to wear it.

• The vending machines in Little Bohemia are no longer targetable.

• Character list scrolling works properly now.

• Some Paradox Ruptures have been closed and re-opened elsewhere to avoid interrupting players participating in other content.

• Stat buffs applied from one trinket will no longer stack with the same stat from another trinket. Corrected a number of inconsistencies with trinkets buffing stats with incorrect tier values.

 

Lightning Strikes:

• Bounty and Wanted missions now have a chance to drop loot for any contributors currently on the mission.

Marketplace:

• DLC items in the marketplace should no longer be marked incorrectly as "Purchased" if your inventory is full.

Missions:

• South Gotham: With Brainiac consolidating his forces, and moving them into the bottles, Captain Cold and Cyborg no longer have daily missions for Villains or Heroes.

• Party Time!:  Fixed an issue that could cause the fight to break for higher level villains preventing them from completing the end sequence with Harley Quinn.

• Hot Dog Zombie:  Fixed a minor typo in the Mission Journal.

• Garden of Eat Em!:  Female citizens will no longer slide during this mission.

Powers:

• General: The following abilities now apply the “Crushed” effect on their targets: Thought Bubble, Stasis Field, Entrap, Grasping Hand, Deep Freeze, Carnivorous Plants, and Harvest.

• Sorcery: Soul Well when used in the Damage role now correctly applies a critical hit chance buff to friendly targets within range when enemies are KOd.

• Super Speed: Phase Dodge game effects have been updated to behave more closely to the standard Block ability and its counter effect is now resistible.

• Staff: The progress bar has been removed from Martial Flowers, Launching Roundhouse Combo and Leaping Overhead Strike Combo. This means that canceling these attacks with a super power will no longer cause a loss of damage.

• Two Handed: The Current Effects menu tooltip display for the Two Handed Weapon Critical Damage bonus will now display properly.

• Martial Arts: The Current Effects menu tooltip display for the Martial Arts Weapon Critical Damage bonus will now display properly.

• Gadgets: The damage prevention effect of Clown Box will now properly overwrite damage prevention effects from Neural Neutralizer and Hide.

• Acrobatics: You may now control your height while using Rocket Assisted Glide by gesturing the movement controls forward or backward.

• Acrobatics: Significantly increased the activation distance of Glide Line.

PVP:

• Diamond Heist: Due to Brainiac's movements in South Gotham the Diamond Heist will now begin at a location slightly to the West of the previously planned heist location.

• KO’s on player’s summoned pets no longer affects the score in PvP Arenas.

• Toughness now reduces damage caused by player pets in PvP

• Legends: Batman and Robin characters will no longer  slide along the floor after performing a Batarang Flurry attack

Alerts:

• The role-optional alerts should now balance properly, only using DPS people in place of other roles.

o For example, if you have 3 controllers and 3 DPS queued up before you could have had a group with 3 controllers and 1 DPS. Now you should get a group with 1 controller and 3 DPS.

Duos:

Flashback

• Abrakadabra is no longer easy to juggle making him comparable in difficulty to Pied Piper.

Raids:

Batcave: The Inner Sanctum:

• The Automated Robotic Custodian (ARC) boss will no longer animate incorrectly while using his Riot Foam attack.

Batcave: Brainiac Sub-Construct:

• NeurOMAC Elite droids are now able to ground players.

• Brainiac can now be properly heard during his boss fight.

• Attacks from Brainiac's Orbs will now display correctly in the combat log.

Kahndaq:

• When carrying the Heart of Anubis it’s de-buff will now display correctly in the Effects Menu.

• Players will now receive a marker pointing to General Adnan's location.

Fortress of Solitude: The Chasm:

• Sunstone Turrets should now always be damageable.

User Interface:

• User can now scroll through tradable items if more than 16 are in the inventory.

All servers will be offline tomorrow, 03.27.12, beginning at 8:00 AM PT (3:00 PM GMT) to launch Game Update 11.  Downtime is anticipated to be less than 4 hours.  Players may notice the following changes:

 

DCUO Teleporters!

New teleporters have been added outside the boss fights for Duos. This will allow players an extra 15 seconds to enter the boss fights after the boss fight door closes.

 

Alerts:

Area 51:

• The quest objectives have undergone formatting changes.

Arkham Asylum:

• Players no longer remain in combat once they make their way past the catwalks in the Mister Freeze Wing.

HIVE Moon Base:

• Fixed the combat log to display correctly for the Drill Beam.

Smallville:

• The correct amount of treasure chests will now spawn, and should now always drop loot.

South Gotham Courthouse:

• The Duration of the Damaging Testimony field has been greatly reduced.

• The Damage from the Damaging Testimony field has been delayed by 2 seconds to allow time to move out of it.

• The surviving Attorney will now do much more damage during ‘Closing Arguments’.

 

Audio:

• Added an additional piece of music to the player dueling playlist.

Feats:

• Resolved an issue with the feat "Duos Dynamo" that was granting it extra counts for completing certain duos.

 

Items:

• The Lightning Strikes Ring Compartment Controller trinket should no longer apply its stat buff when the trinket is drained.

• Healer items earned from Battle for Earth content have had their stats adjusted to offer more Restoration and less of other secondary stats.

 

Missions:

• Beat the Heat: The Freeze Agent quest giver will no longer jump off of the roof and should be easier to find.

• Communication Breakdown: The cars, vans, and traffic cones around the area should no longer be targetable during combat.

• Exobyte Eclipse: Fixed an issue that could cause NPCs to appear to slide when first attacked.

• Falling STARs: The quest objectives have undergone formatting changes.

• Lunar Eclipse: Villain: Lightkeeper Janis should now stay down when you defeat her and not get up (reset) looking for a second beating.

• Raven Unleashed: The Science Police no longer use their stealth rockets out in the open as this weapon is still under development. Enemies of the Science Police will now see rockets barreling toward them.

• Reign of Blood

    Players no longer remain in combat with Doctor Fate after defeating him.
    Villain: Fixed an issue where players could get attacked by invulnerable NPCs if they backtracked through the instance after wiping.

• Smash and Grab: The Gotham Police Cars in this area no longer have a protective coating that makes them indestructible.

 

Powers:

• Electricity Powers

    Tesla Ball will now apply the Electrified power interaction even if the target is not stunned. Repulse, Static Push, and Circuit Breaker will apply the Polarization power interaction even if the target is not knocked down.
    Bio-Capacitor will now apply to you and 3 other group members properly.

• Earth Powers:

    Changed the wording on Earthquake and Meteor Shower to indicate more about the effects of using these abilities.
    All attack movement mode powers, such as Whirlwind Attack, now give the proper Damage Absorption and Defense/Toughness bonus for Earth power characters.

• Iconic Powers

    Reduced the channel duration of Heat Vision and increased the damage inflicted per second.
    Heat Vision and Freezing Breath will now play visual impact effects when hitting targets.

• Gadgets: Pets now persist through zoning.

• Light Powers: The trait tree description text should be visible when mousing over or selecting the mastery tree box for both the Assault and Support trees.

• Nature: Primal Wolf Form “Slam” attack should no longer inflict a counter attack versus a target who is Vulnerable to Block.

• Sorcery: For the purposes of clarity, the box formerly known as “Circle of Protection” in the Destiny tree is now known as “Circle of Destiny”. This grants Circle of Destruction in Damage role and Circle of Protection in Healer role. The functionality and statistics of these abilities remain unchanged.

 

PVP:

• All counter-attacks now inflict knockdown.

• Corrected an issue that could occasionally cause you to have to break out after being hit with a counter attack if you wanted to begin moving right away.

• Corrected an issue that could prevent block from working immediately after recovering from a counter attack.

Legends:

• The Legends PvP trinket may no longer be used while in stealth.

• Charge up attacks when released early will cause less damage than fully charged ones.

• Damage caused by tray powers should no longer vary with the level of the player while in Legends matches.

• Pets summoned by players under level 30 will now have the proper level 30 combat stats.

• Catwoman

    Her Whip Pull attack no longer affects friendly targets.
    Corrected a visual effects issue that would occur when she used her Smoke Cloud ability.
    Her weapon combo abilities now inflict damage commensurate to other Legends characters. 

 

Raid:

Fortress of Solitude: Zod’s Revenge

• Fixed an issue where Superman and Lex Luthor would refuse to 'shoot first' when threatened by Ursa and Zod. The two will now push themselves to be Heroic and assist the raid group in defeating Zod and his followers.

Battle for Earth: Prime Battleground

• Healer Drones should now properly de-spawn once Brainiac Prime is defeated.

 

User Interface:

• On Duty UI - "Ready" check box now remains disabled until actually needed.

• Trade UI - Removed chat window spam when items are added or removed.

• Partners in Crime: Now correctly displays as a Duo rather than an Alert in the Mission Journal.

• Ferris Aircraft:  Now correctly displays as a Duo rather than an Alert in the Mission Journal.

• The Demon Inside: Bulletins will now update properly.

• HUD Ability Tray: The cooldown and out-of-power icons now have improved readability.

 

Visual:

• Made a number of environment fixes throughout the game world.

 

Weapons:

• Dual Wield

    The animation speed of Dual Wield Phantom Slash (the ranged Tap) was decreased.
    The final combo hit of Whirlwind Overstrike, Stunning Swipe and Dual Flurry will now scale properly based on the total time of the tap attacks leading up to the final hold.

Re-Spec Device Update!

Updates have been made to allow players more choice and information at the Re-Spec Device in the Hall of Doom and Watchtower. Players now have the option to reset their traits, powers or all. Players are also provided information on cost and their current cash balance. Players can easily find the Re-Spec Device by going to their HQ and opening their map UI.

Ace Chemicals

 

    Players will no longer see double the presents when encased by Punchline.

 

Bludhaven

 

    Major Force will now do damage while performing his basic attacks. Use caution when approaching.

Courthouse

General:

 

    Fixed an issue where rigid bodies were unable to be damaged with weapon attacks or powers until they stoped moving if they were dropped by a player.

    Steel has made a few adjustments on his hammer to make sure it returns to him after he throws it.

    Superspeed: Dash Attack is now a 25% supercharge, prevents damage for a short time and applies the breakout effect.

    Updated the text in the Fire, Ice, and Earth trait trees to reflect that you receive 100% increase in Dominance when in Tank Role.

 

Fire

 

    Fixed an issue with Meteor Strike that could cause the meteor to spawn under the ground if the target was standing below the lip of higher terrain.
    Flashpoint's description has changed to clarify when the power interaction takes effect.

 

Gadget

 

    Suppressor Turret now uses the same animation as the Sentry and Warden Turret.

 

PvP:

Arena PVP

 

    The Metropolis and Gotham City Police Departments are conducting a joint investigation in an effort to locate the missing Green Barrels from several locations in the Arenas.
    The cowering NPCs from each Safe House will now only speak with you once every 6 seconds. It's not that they don't trust you, it's just that...well okay, it IS that they don't trust you.

 

Australia

 

    Players that are members of the Suicide Squad/Task Force X will no longer be affected by Encasements/Knockbacks activated by their own team.

 

The Pit

 

    Green Ivy Seeds no longer damage allies.

 

General PvP

 

    Players who die in PVP but do not pick a rally point within 30 seconds will be auto warped back to their starting point.
    Players who linger in the safe spawn areas will be kicked from PVP Arenas.
    Power up barrels found in the Headquarters PvP maps will no longer display interpenetrating effects.
    Resolved an issue where players on Suicide Squad orTask Force X would not receive quest updates for Legends: Ace Chemicals, Legends: Arkham Asylum, Legends: Batcave.

 

Legends PVP

 

    Catwoman's Surprise Attack visual effects will no longer last for an entire match.
    Updated Power Girl and Ursa's Thermal Gaze the second hold range attack in the combo string to be a block breaker and vulnerable to interrupt and increased the damage from the Burning power interaction. It is also easier to combo into Thermal Gaze from Thermal Blast.

 

Raids:

Fortress of Solitude: The Chasm

 

    Should Superman or Lex get weak in the knees following the Broodmother battle and not open the door it will eventualy open on its own so you can continue.

 

UI:

 

    Fixed an issue that could cause the incorrect number of skill points to be returned when resetting skill points if they had been partially spent in a multi-point trait.
    Collections, Breifings, and Investigations UI has been improved. Players will now be able to open the UI to see which collections have recently been updated. This will only persist until viewed or the current session ends.

 

 

Visual:

 

    When encased, the camera now tracks the encasement better.
    When encased and smashed, the camera now tracks the smashed player better.
    The fly text for damage done by Battle Drone now displays as the proper color.
    Phantom Stranger has found the cape he had misplaced.
    The Kryptonian Medico style will no longer display clipping in the neck area for certain body types.

 

Weapons:

 

    The lunge attacks for the following weapons should now more reliably damage opponents who are fleeing or near maximum range.

The Tides of War
During the summer, the seas become restless, churning with dangerous storms. Ocean Master, Aquaman’s conniving half brother, has rallied a force of mutineer Atlanteans in an attempt to usurp the throne of Atlantis! Their civil war has breached the waters of Metropolis, a crucial piece in the plot to rule the sea. Track “Tides of War” in your Mission Journal to venture into the Cave. Track “Tides of War” in your Mission Journal to find the Atleantean Frigates in Metropolis.

Moon Legends Map Exclusive for “The Last Laugh” owners and Legendary members
Legendary members and owners of “The Last Laugh” will now be able to play the Moon Arena map as a Legends character.

Vault Items Update
Three new military style gear set appearances (Logistics Officer, Sharpshooter, Aeronaut -24 new items total) have a chance to drop in the vault. Some older (launch) appearance items have been removed from the vault to make way for the new items and will continue to drop from NPC’s throughout the world.

Bludhaven Alert Update
The toxicity of Bludhaven has decreased slightly over time resulting in enemies that are less threatening in some areas. The exception being Chemo whom now prevents his enemies from running away in fear.

Area 1:
Decreased the speed of the Half-Mutants to help prevent players from being overrun.
Area 2:
Adjusted the number of Chemoids that spawn in this area.

There are now fewer enemies when escorting the Hazmat personnel to Chemos last known location.
Hazmat personnel that die while being escorted will no longer respawn at the beginning.
Hazmat personnel have 2x health while being escorted and have 30% more time to be revived before being KO’d.
There is a solo Hazmat that has already located Chemo; he will speak with you when you finish clearing the gauntlet area. Chemo now creates a chemical barrier to keep his enemies from running.

Iconic NPCs are now more resistant to crowd control.

Absorb Heat ability now displays multiple beam effects as intended.

Gold Collections in Suicide Slums that were perfectly hidden inside of buildings have been moved so you can collect them.

Gotham City:

Adding a Sheer (the original) version of net leggings to the Goth Leggings marketplace item. Purchasing the Goth Leggings from the Marketplace will now allow you to claim two versions of the item: one Sheer, and one not-Sheer. If you have already purchased the Goth Leggings, you will automatically be able to claim both versions from the Claim Window in the Marketplace UI.

PVP:
Arenas:
Headquarters Assault: Watchtower
Due to the unstable energies of the Fuel Cell the carrier is now vulnerable to lunges and melee combos. This vulnerability is apparent by the dizzy effects on the carrier.
Attack vulnerability while carrying the fuel cell will now only start after three seconds.
Corrected location of villain optional-mission reward barrels in the first stage. They should now spawn in the safe-area instead of out in the hangar.
Corrected positioning of villain safe-area door so there is no gap.

City Safehouses
After carrying the Graviton Technology or the Force Field Disruptor for 3 seconds, the carrier will become vulnerable to Interruption.

The Moon
Fixed an issue where weaponizing the rock did not interrupt the secure action.
Players who enter a Moon PvP match in progress will no longer experience a looping sound issue.

S.T.A.R. Labs
Fixed an issue where Capture Points visual effect would activate when the Capture Point was not active at the beginning of a round.

Raids:
Fortress: The Chasm
Superman and Lex Luthor have agreed to stop failing to appear when you are fighting the Sunstone Herald.
Fixed an issue where a Briefing was located inside of a wall.

UI:
Dialog Window: Fixed an issue in which the UI would get into a bad state if a mouse-relevant Dialog was queued behind a non-mouse-relevant Dialog.

Visual:
Spider Blade dual wield weapon has been reduced in size for brute sized characters to avoid clipping through the character body.
Wonder Woman's Headband style no longer clips into the forehead of male brute characters. –
Sunstone Bulwark head style no longer causes facial hair to disappear.
High Voltage face style no longer clips into the brow of male brute characters wearing an animal skin style.
A number of environment fixes have been made throughout the game world.

Duct Tape Mask
No longer clips into the cheeks of male characters wearing animal skins.
No longer displays incorrectly on Striker model characters.

The Tides of War
The Atlantean Warships have left the straits of Metropolis, bringing an end to the Tides of War.

Mental and Gadgets Powers Update
The Gadgets and Mental Power Sets have been improved. Each Power Set has received upgraded functionality, visual and audio effects. A few abilities have been shifted to the Iconic Tree, while some older, less popular abilities have been retired and replaced with all new ones!

All Mental and Gadget players, and players with Iconic Powers, will have their powers reset upon login so they can respec to their new abilities.

Ace Chemicals Map Exclusive for “The Last Laugh” owners and Legendary members
Legendary members and owners of “The Last Laugh” will now be able to play the Ace Chemicals Legends map as an Arena.

Map UI Update
The in game Map has been given a complete visual overhaul! Players can now enjoy a more dynamic map system allowing them to see and track with much greater detail! Beyond improved navigation, players are now color coded and waypoints can be placed on group members to make them easier to find!  Place them by right clicking with the mouse.
Group members are now color coded to differentiate them on the Minimap. Each group member will have a different randomly assigned color, except for the group leader who is always yellow. Group members can “ping” the map by shift+ left clicking a spot on the map which will create a temporary waypoint for group members, seen both on the mini map and in the main Map UI.

    Mister Freeze's Boilers are now only targetable when players can damage them

Bludhaven:       

    Psionic Hal Jordan’s Construct Fan’s turbulence and damage are now a better fit for this construct
    Hazmat Officer Severson will now leave Bludhaven when he is no longer needed
     Major Force will no longer run and hide immediately after being defeated

Collections:

    Corrected the physical placement of various Gold collections in Metropolis and Gotham City.

Combat:

    Pet Improvements:
        General
            Pets now detect if they get stuck behind a door between themselves and their destination, if this occurs, the pet warps to their destination through the door
            Pets have become more obedient. Most pets now follow to the side of their owner
        Combat
            Pets are now more responsive when entering combat and most should enter combat when their owner enters combat.
            Pets should no longer lose their targets in combat and stop attacking.
            Most pets attack the recent target of their owner. If the owner switches targets, the pet soon after changes to the same target. Pets hold their target for a minimum of 5 seconds before switching to its owner’s current target.
            In combat, if a pet gets too far from its owner, it will fall back to the owner.
            An attacking pet keeps its owner in combat and attacks hitting a pet now keep its owner in combat.
            Group heals and buffs should now affect all pets in the group.

     
        Flying Pets
            Out of combat, flying pets now match their owner speed (even while boosted). If they get too far behind, they warp to their owner to keep up
            Flying pets now only de-spawn if they are killed or de-spawned manually
            In combat, flying pets now warp to their owner if their owner gets too far away
        Ground Pets
            Out of combat, ground pets do not match their owner speed and de-spawn if their owner gets too far away from them (usually from the owner using a super movement mode)
            In combat, ground pets de-spawn if their owner gets too far away

Feats:

    Battle for Earth “School of Hard Knocks” feats is now only visible to Legendary players and players who own Battle for Earth
    “Metropolis Master Speedster”: Villain now correctly refers to the Chinatown Expert Speedster Challenge

Items:

    Noble Warrior items can now be deleted
    Coluan Crown of Defense now has an inventory icon and the appearance will display properly when the appearance is worn.
    Promethium Lockboxes and PvP Champion Bonus marks awarded from opening boxes are now dropped into your inventory as physical items. Using the item will add the bonus mark to your currency tab.

Leagues:

    Players will now see messaging in their chat log of how many League Members are online when entering the game or when joining a League

Powers:

    Iconic Powers
        The Clown Box and Gag Glove abilities have been removed from Gadgets Power Set and added to the Iconic Powers Tree.
    Controllers
        Control effects applied while in the Controller role no longer have a chance to break early due to damage.

PVP:

    Battle for Earth Headquarters battles: The Engine Core will now properly report to the player’s combat log when thrown at someone.
    Critical effect suppression is now properly applied in Arena zones when transformed into a Snowman by using the rare Season’s Greedings winter seasonal trinket.

Raids:
Battle for Earth: The Gates of Tartarus

    We have corrected an issue where players were not receiving loot as intended. Now, when defeating Circe (Heroes) or Wonder Woman (Villains) players have a chance to receive a damaged circlet which grants a Mission (Memento of Goddess –for Heroes or The Goddess’ Favor –for Villains). Completing the Mission allows players to choose between two rewards, with different appearances – Dark Witch or Valiant Warrior.

UI:

    Players can now create waypoints on group members in the Map UI.
        Place them by right clicking with the mouse
    Group Members are now color coded to differentiate them on the Minimap. The colors are randomly assigned with the exception of the leader who is always yellow.

The Witching Hour

Join us beginning October 16th for The Witching Hour, our new Halloween seasonal event!  Gotham City will be decorated for the season, Klarion the Witch Boy will be causing all kinds of ghoulish trouble, and there will be tricks and treats to be had by all! 

Research and Development Update!

With Game Update 19 we have added more components and plans to create new Research and Development consumables!  Players will have a chance to find these new plans from endgame bosses throughout the game.

Some of the new components, which are required for developing the new items, are available for purchase from Research & Development vendors.  Two vendors are now located at Research and Development stations within the Headquarters, one sells only plans and the other, only components.  Other new components are dropped by NPCs of various types throughout the game.

The new Research & Development consumables have a variety of potential functions, ranging from offensive combat abilities to disguises for the player!

Tutorial Update!

When players make new characters and go through The Awakening on Brainiac’s ship, they will encounter some new units trying to prevent their escape.  Players will need to master Combat Counter mechanics in order to get past these new foes before making it off the ship.

New Mail UI!

We have given the Mail UI a complete overhaul!  Beyond the new sleek look, it is now much easier to use!  Some of the new features we have added include a Sent tab to see outgoing mail, and an Archive tab for those mails players wish to keep in a safe spot!

A new Compose tab is present as well and features a list of Contacts that will populate with your League mates and friends list!  Additionally a bigger, more easily navigated inventory window is now available to players when attaching items to your mail!

Ace Chemicals

Markers will now appear on the mini-map inside Ace Chemicals when players are told to close the valves.
Oan Sciencells

Players are once again forbidden to enter the green rooms where their enemies are preparing for their attack.
Gotham Courthouse

Removed collision from an invisible object in the “runway” area leading up to the Bailiff.
Audio:

Improved music scripting in Metropolis General Hospital Meta Human Wing instance (Villain) to provide a more dramatic experience.
Fixed an issue with hearing disembodied Security Guard voice over while fighting Tiger Lords in the Gotham University Warehouse.
Upon entering the Hall of Doom, Calculator's communicator message can now be heard uninterrupted.
The music scripting in the Penguin's Lair should now make the encounter more cinematic.
Challenges:

Birdcaged:  This mission should no longer be granted daily.
Gotham University Warehouse:  After defeating the Tiger Boss the radar will no longer look as if there is still an enemy in the room.
The Joker’s Funhouse: Harley Quinn has agreed to stay down even if you decide not to secure her right away and explore the room instead!
Old Gotham Subway: Players can no longer get themselves stuck in the “train room”.
Old Gotham Subway: After defeating Hush, players will no longer be stuck in combat for the remainder of the instance.
Collections:

Investigation: LexCorp Genome Database: The spawn location of the collection in the University room has been adjusted so everyone can now collect it.
Feats:

Speedy Coin is now restricted to only group runs.
You Wouldn't Hit a Lady is now being granted properly.
Shake and Bake: All players will now receive credit for expertly speeding across Little Bohemia in record time.
Organic Gardening: Swamp Thing will now give credit where credit is due and grant the Organic Gardening Feat to those who are worthy.
General:

More Gotham Citizens have learned of the Gang War going on in the Burnley Freight Yards, and therefore they are giving the police a wider berth to deal with the Falcones.  Players will no longer see seasonal content or incidental content in that area.
Added a “Show Skill Point Progress in Ability Tray” option to display Feat Point progression in place of the experience progress bar.
Items:

The Crown of the Noble Warrior now uses the correct icon.
The rate at which Research and Development plans drop has been slightly increased
Marketplace:

Form: Angry Gorilla: The Chest Pound ability should no longer cause the player to slide.  It can still be cancelled by jumping.
Missions:

The Big Payback: Patrolmen will no longer hold their arms stiffly out to their sides when you strap bombs to their chest.
Hospital Havok: LexCorp Security Agents have pledged to refrain from kicking patients while they are down.
Ice Heist Baby: The crates in the WayneTech Storage Facility are no longer targetable by players during combat.
Falling STARS: When being transformed into Gorilla Form, players will not lose their ability to perform basic attacks.
Queen of Lies: Fixed an issue where all doors would not open after you defeat Aquaman.
Queen of Lies: Aquaman should no longer appear to be flying or falling after heroes have rescued him from Circe's influence and he jumped to be beside Mera.
Shadow Hearts: Fixed an issue where the protect sequence for Shadowmen would sometimes not finish.
Shipping and Handling: Released Falcone Mobsters will now leave the warehouse through the proper doors.
Student Protest: Players should no longer fail to put on a lab coat when attempting to use the DNA Sequencer.

Gadgets: Fixed an issue that made the player immune to block counters after using Distract.
PvP:

Ace Chemicals

The initial Capture Points in Ace Chemicals are no longer out of sync with the bulletins.
Diamond Heist

Villain-side money bags should no longer drop into holes in the ground, protecting them from impulses from explosions.
Headquarters Assault

Superman, Gorilla Grodd, and all the other iconic heroes and villains are taking an increased interest in the battle for the Hall of Doom.  Look for more heated exchanges between these arch foes in the Hall of Doom Headquarters Assault!
Raids:

Fortress of Solitude: The Sunstone Matrix

General Zod is now dropping the correct Research & Development recipes.
Visual:

HIVE Busting: The HIVE Minder now disappears out of the players' eye sights after his cut scene.
Ice Powers: The visual effects for Frost Snipe will play from the character's left hand when using a bow.
Fire Powers: Mass Detonation has always been vulnerable to interrupt and now the tooltip states this fact.
MPD 3rd Precinct Rookie Flight Challenge: The beginning Race particle no longer clips into the ground.
Queen of Lies: Martian Manhunter will now display the appropriate effects during the Boss Fight.


Weapons:

Due to extensive changes to all weapon trees, players will find a free respec has been granted to them. The starting box for all weapons now automatically includes the attacks performed by holding the melee or range buttons.  These attacks no longer must be purchased separately and are part of that base weapon package.  Specifically, the following attacks are gained automatically with the base weapon purchase:
Bow: Lunging Stab and Long Draw
Brawling: Lunging Right and Stomp Smash
Dual Pistols: Lunge Strike and Full Auto
Dual Wield: Whirlwind Strike and Charged Double Throw
Hand Blaster: Leap Attack and Charged Blast

Temple of Isis Legends Arena Exclusive for “Hand of Fate” owners and Legendary members.

Legendary members and owners of “Hand of Fate” will now be able to play the Temple of Isis in Legends PvP Arena.

 

Stryker’s Island: Lockdown

Stryker’s Island open world content (Toyland, Once More With Rockets, and Fun for Girls and Boys) has moved to its own public instance and is no longer available in the open world of Metropolis. Players can now access these Missions by using the “Stryker’s Island: Lockdown” teleporter in their Headquarters and entering Stryker’s Island.   These Missions can be picked up from the terminal near the new Stryker’s Island: Lockdown teleporter in the Watchtower Monitor Womb or the Hall of Doom Inner Sanctum.

 

Once More With Rockets mission jump pads were removed so players can now just speak to Radical Rocket Randy to receive their disguise. Radical Rocket Randy can be found on top of the entrance to Stryker’s Island.

 

The Witching Hour

Klarion and Teekl are no longer amused and went back to Limbo Town to prepare for next year.

Legendary members and owners of DLC “Hand of Fate” will now be able to play the Inner Sanctum in Arena PvP and Legends PvP.

Introducing Auto Loot!
Players no longer need to gather their own loot if they have space in their inventory. All loot, including but not limited to Exobits, Collections, Research and Development items, Mission drops, and Boss drops is now auto-magically gathered for you when it drops. If your inventory is full you will receive a message that you must clear space in your inventory to receive your loot.

Combat Rating Requirement for Boss Loot
All Tier 2 through Tier 4 Challenges, Duos, Alerts, and Raids now only award tiered loot drops to players that meet the Combat Rating requirement.  Players who do not meet the minimum Combat Rating will still earn Marks of Triumph, Marks of War, and Cash when appropriate, but will not be eligible to roll on gear.

Alerts:

    Arkham Asylum
        Poison Ivy will no longer lose the will to fight.
        The final encounter with Mister Freeze, Poison Ivy, and the Scarecrow will now award appropriately tiered Research and Development Plans, and Components.
    League of Assassins: Ra's al Ghul will now award appropriately tiered Research and Development Plans and Components.
    Stryker’s Island Penitentiary: The final encounter with Gorilla Grodd will now award appropriately tiered Research and Development Plans and Components.

Challenges:

    Old Gotham Subway: Bosses in this challenge now have a chance to drop Tier 2 Research and Development plans.
    Lair of the Spectre Challenge: you now receive credit for the "Lost and Found" side mission.

General:

    Tier 3 Alerts now have a random daily bonus.  Players who complete the daily Tier 3 Alert will receive a bonus 50 Marks of Triumph.
    The Booster Gold exploration terminals will no longer cause players to become stuck in an endless cinematic.

Items:

    The Mark of Legend x 5 box will now award the five Marks of Legend directly to the player’s currency, instead of awarding five individual Mark of Legend items in the inventory.

Missions:

    Queen of Lies: The Trident of Poseidon will now ground players attempting to escape its grasp.
    Lair of the Spectre: While in Spectre form, ranged attacks will work properly.

PvP:

    Headquarters Assault:  The match timer will no longer count down during the opening cinematic.

Raids:

    The Chasm: Superman and Lex Luthor should be better travel companions after defeating the Sunstone Herald.
    The Chasm: Krypto’s Freeze Breath encasement no longer gives you hope of an early escape.

Style:

    Checkmate Informant: The chest piece no longer causes visual issues when equipped with certain weapon types.
    Kabuki Mask:  This style no longer causes a visual issue when worn by female characters.

UI:

    Character Select:  Player selected backgrounds should now persist when creating a new character or re-launching the game.
    Once More With Rockets: Radical Rocket Randy’s attacks now appear correctly in the Combat Log.
    Style:  The Save and Reset buttons now function properly.

Fire and Ice Update

The Fire and Ice power sets have been updated! Each set has had improvements made to some of their visual effects, audio effects, and even a refactoring of their power interactions. This also includes some brand new powers and better power descriptions! See below for a list of specific changes to abilities.

Legends: Hal Jordan and Sinestro

Legends characters Hal Jordan and Sinestro have received an upgrade to some of their tray ability visual and audio effects.

    Hal Jordan
        Strafing Jet: Changed the construct VFX to appear differently than the player version
    Sinestro
        Scythe Spin: Changed the construct to better match Sinestro’s alien origin
        Fear Trap: Changed the construct VFX to appear differently than the player version
        Abhorrent Blast: Replaced the projectile with a construct of fear

Loyalty Vendor Update – PS3 Only

We have significantly upgraded the items sold through the Loyalty Vendor. Players can now purchase many Marketplace items that were previously unavailable through the Loyalty Vendor.

Chat Window Re-Size

Players now have the ability to resize the chat window on both PC and PS3. Players will see a new icon in the top right corner of the chat window that they are able to click and drag to the preferred size.

Base Functionality Improvements

Improvements to Decoration Mode in Bases have been added! While in Decoration Mode, players have the option to pick up all Base items that have been placed around their Lair or Hideout.

If you cast a power to get the buffs during the last 12 seconds it will be refreshed and stay on you when Ice Armor falls off.
                Players no longer have to cast Ice Bash, Cold Snap, or Reflection a sixth time to get the buffs. You get them at the same time the Ice Armor is applied.
                Using a power that gives a 60% DPS buff (Frostblast) will give you the extra 10% while in Ice Armor and will work with Enduring Damage Tactical Mod until Ice Armor falls off.
                Players no longer have a constant 5% Crit Chance and 5% Crit Damage buff while in Ice Armor.
                While in Ice Armor, Winter Ward, Bitter Winds, and Shatter Restraints will apply their damage absorption

St. Patrick’s Day!

Mister Mxyzptlk is back again this year to taunt Metropolis with his riches! We’ve updated the daily mission to be reset, so you will have extra opportunity to collect your Lucky Clovers! Track “Mxyleprechauns!” in your Mission Journal and speak to Mister Mxyzptlk in your HQ. We’ve also added new items to the seasonal vendor, including two new Clover-themed style items, your very own Pot O’ Gold to add to your Base, and a new Dance-a-ma-jig Trinket! Additionally, we’ve included a very special Sparkly Rainbow base item, only available in the Vault and from end-game Bosses! Start now before your luck runs out!

Batcave Inner Sanctum Alert

Players can now experience The Batcave Inner Sanctum Raid as an Alert! Can you take on OMAC and Brother Eye with four of your finest? Players can find the Inner Sanctum listed in the Tier 4 Alerts section of the On Duty Menu.

Character Outlines

Character Outlines is a new option that has been added to the game to assist players when they are occluded by effects. By using Outlines, players will always be able to see the outline of their character, another player, or an enemy when blocked by effects. Outlines will fade out when the player is no longer blocked by effects. Players can enable Outlines in their Settings Menu, under Video. Players can also adjust the Fade Distance at which the Outline will fade out with camera distance.


Increased Max Slot Purchases

The maximum limit of purchase-able slot upgrades has been raised! Players can now purchase even more slot upgrades from the Marketplace for Character, Inventory, Bank, and Broker slots.

Mail Service Update

The in-game Mail UI has been updated to assist players with their Inbox and Archive management. Mails will now display their age, and have a color coded system in place to help players recognize how old a mail is. This is in preparation for a system that will come online in the near future that will begin deleting mail older than 30 Days. New mails are colored white; mails older than 25 days progress to yellow, and over 28 days will progress to red. Official warning will go out when the countdown begins, giving players a 30-day notice before deleting any in-game mail.

Mail Archive also has new limits. Free players can archive up to 10 in-game mails, Premium can archive 50 and Legendary up to 100. Anyone beyond the limit will not be able to add additional mail to their archive until they clear space.

Prior to this, heal abilities available to Tank and Controller power types scaled independently with both stats. Depending on how you are geared you may see either a small increase in amount healed or no change. This directly affects the following abilities: Envelop, Absorb Heat, Backdraft, Burning Determination, Burnout, Consume Objects, Fiery Weapon, Overheat, Stoke Flames, Eternal Flame, Reignition, Anesthetic, Hibernation, Ice Elemental, Word of Power, Restore, Triage, and Convalesce.
oThe following abilities are also affected when the Regenerative Shielding Mod is in use: Gemstone Shield, Flux, Energy Shield, Reflection, Hard Light Shield, Light Barrier, Telekinetic Shield, Swarm Shield, and Boon of Souls.
oA number of shielding abilities that scaled with 100% of Dominance but with less than 100% of Restoration now scale with 100% of your Restoration. This affects the following abilities: Gemstone Shield, Bitter Winds, and Light Barrier.

·Fire
oEnflame: Correctly gives you +10% Control Resistance in Tank Role and not during DPS Role.
oMeteor: Meteor will no longer blow up instantly if you lose your target.

·Ice
oArctic Gust: The visual effects will now play properly when used with no weapon equipped.
oIce Armor: When players change roles while Ice Armor is active, they will stay in that role when Ice Armor ends.
oIce Elemental:
§Players will now breakout of most control effects when form changing.
§Added a new Return to Normal ability that can be put on the Ice Elemental's loadout.
oInescapable Storm: New visual effects were added.
oGlacier Flash: The visual effects will now play properly when used with no weapon equipped.
oReflection: Updated the tooltip to state it does damage on use.

·Nature
oThe healing component of both Savage Growth and Harvest will now hit up to 16 targets bringing it in line with other area of effect heals.

·Sorcery
oArbiter of Destiny: Added a new Return to Normal ability that can be put on the Arbiter of Destiny's loadout.
oTransmutation: This ability will now only explode harmful encasements.

Raids

·Inner Sanctum:
oMany attacks from the NPCs in this Raid/Alert can now be broken out of. There are still some in the Raid itself, to keep its difficulty up.
oThe A.R.C. will now correctly reset after a wipe and not go through entire camera sequences.
oFixed camera playing in the middle of the A.R.C. fight.
oFixed an issue where players lagging behind the team could get locked out behind the doors leading to the Zetta Drone.
oThe A.R.C, Zetta Drone, and Brother Eye have all had their health and damage reduced.
oFixed an issue where Security Drone's tell attack wouldn’t damage you in the novice version of the raid.

Seasonal

·A Fool and his Gold for villains no longer lists contact as Watchtower.
·Explore Mxyzptlk's Metropolis Haunts no longer lists Watchtower as the contact, since this was a shared mission, it now says Metropolis.
·Mxyleprechauns! no longer has Oracle or Calculator sending you a communicator message as if you had completed the daily mission. The daily mission now does that.

Settings
·Video:
oThe game window will no longer move back to the default position when a player moves through zones in game. This will only affect players in Windowed Mode who have moved the window from the default position.
UI
·Chat Window UI:
oResizing the chat window should no longer cause the game to repeatedly save and cause stuttering.
·Base Entrance Selection UI:
oPlayers are no longer able to set waypoints while previewing Lair themes.
·Decoration Mode UI:
oThe free-placement unlock counter text should now properly reappear after closing the house item menu in decoration mode.
·General:
oThe loadout tray will no longer refresh when a Generator Power Cell runs out of energy.

All servers will be taken offline tomorrow, Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 6:30 a.m. PDT to launch Game Update 25. Downtime is expected to last about five hours. Players may notice the following changes:

Spring is in the air!
Poison Ivy is once again back to wreak havoc on the people of Gotham! This year we’ve added a new boss fight where players will be sent to the depths of Gotham’s sewers to confront (Villains) or cure (Heroes) Swamp Thing! With the boss fight, we’ve added two new Feats, new Spring-themed base items and a new Spring-themed style item. Additionally, many new Spring themed base items are available for purchase from the seasonal vendor!

Villains can learn more about Poison Ivy’s plans by speaking to her in the Hall of Doom’s Pit, while Heroes can speak to Swamp Thing in the Watchtower’s Aquacultural Area to help bring down Ivy and her minions. Speak to Veronica Cale (Villains) or Doctor Sarah Charles (Heroes) to find out more about taking on Swamp Thing!

Marketplace Improvements
We have streamlined our Marketplace interface by consolidating items and by adding a few new categories; DLC, On Sale, and Suits. The On Sale category will provide players an easy way to see all items that are on sale. This category will only be present when a sale is occurring. In the Suits category, we have organized certain style items into sets. If you already own pieces from a set, but not the full set, you can still purchase the new bundled suit item to receive the rest of the pieces you do not own.

Base Tracking Improvements
We have added Base Tracking to our Map UI, giving players a better, more efficient way to manage the bases they have access to. Using the Base Tracking option, players can pick and choose which bases they want to see, and these choices will dynamically update on the Map. The tracker will also allow you to see the position of bases of a city you aren’t currently in. Any settings made with the tracker persist, so you do not have to update your choices between login sessions.

Chat Visibility Improvements
The Chat UI window will now remain up and available for players to switch between when opening other UIs, such as the PDA. PC players can simply click between the focused UI and the Chat window. PS3 players can toggle between using the SELECT button. You can even now use chat while knocked out – PS3 players can still use the SELECT button, while PC players will need to hit the / (slash) key.

Respec Tokens are now Account Bound!
All respec token types have been converted to Account Bound items and can now be traded to any other character on your account.

Exobyte Recovery
Exobyte Recovery allows players to take Mods that they have constructed and break them back down into Exobytes. This process can be performed at any Research and Development station and can even recover Exobytes from Mods that have already been slotted in your equipment! Players will also need to acquire Deconstruction Kits to breakdown Mods. These kits vary in quality: lesser kits will be sold from vendors, while better kits are awarded from Arena and Legends Champion’s Prize boxes or by making your own kits. Kits and kit plans are available for purchase at your local R&D vendor.

New Weapon Tree Stats!
All weapon trees now have four new six-point skill traits available that will give players a new way to boost existing stats.

PvP Map Rotation
Five maps are now available to queue for at any given time for both Arena and Legends PvP. The maps are categorized by team size. There are 1v1, 2v2, 4v4, 5v5, and 8v8 maps available for both PvP modes. The available maps will rotate over time. This will help us achieve the following:
•Limit the number of maps that can be queued which will in turn help improve queue times.
•Allow us to add new maps and gameplay modes without impacting queues or progression.
•Keep things fresh by rotating content with brand new offerings and old favorites with new twists.

PvP Season 1 Gear!
Get ready for an all-new season of competition! Season 1 PvP Gear is now available for purchase from PvP vendors located in your headquarters. The new gear offers stats that are superior to the previously available PvP sets to start everyone off on an even footing. There is a cash purchasable set to get players started in their run to the top! This set starts at PvP Combat Rating 77, just below the old Tier 4 PvP set. Advanced tiers of gear will be purchased using Marks of Valor which will be acquired from participating in PvP matches. These higher tiered gear sets range in power from PvP Combat Rating 81 up to 84. Each tier of gear will become available for purchase after raising your PvP Combat Rating by collecting the entire previous tiered set.
•Gear Sets: ◦Tier 4 (item level 84): Punchline (Villain), Vengeance (Hero)
◦Tier 3 (item level 83): Logistics Officer
◦Tier 2 (item level 82): Aeronaut

PvP Combat Rating
Players will now see a PvP Combat Rating on their PvP gear, and on your player's Stats Tab in the Inventory UI. This rating, much like PVE Combat Rating, measures your effectiveness in PvP based on the best equipment in your possession. PvP Combat Rating is not affected by mods. It increases only by getting higher rated gear for any particular slot.

PvP Missives
In effort to support rotating PvP Maps, PvP missives are no longer map specific. They are now grouped by size of the arena. For example, a missive that before had the requirement of KO 5 Speedsters in Ace Chemicals, would now be KO 5 Speedsters in any 5v5 Arena.

Currency Conversion + Tokens for Merit
Along with PvP Season 1, we have made some changes to the marks that are used to buy gear. In order to accommodate this change we have added conversion kits. These conversion kits can be used to convert currencies that can no longer purchase gear to those that can. For Legends we have phased out the use of Marks of Lore and will only be using Marks of Legend. For Arena PvP Gear we will be using Marks of Valor instead of Marks of Strategy and Marks of Tactics. Conversion kits for these currencies have been added to the conversion kit vendor found in the magic wing of both Headquarters. Conversion kits will provide a different rate of exchange for currency based on its relative value. In addition we have added Tokens of Merit for the new currency Marks of Valor, which can be located on the existing vendors in each headquarters.

·Ace Chemicals: Clownsanity will no longer attack players who rally behind the gate.

·South Gotham Courthouse:Braniac Constables will always release their jurors once they reach the top of the "jury box" platform.

Top Community Bug Fixes

·Fixed an issue where sometimes players could not be rallied because they could not be interacted with.

·Fixed an issue where auto lock-on setting could cause target switching mid fight.

·Vitalization effects will update on gear change.

General

·Mainframe Trinket tooltips will now properly reflect if the trinket is usable or not.

·Radar enhancements will no longer be removed when entering Legends PvP.

·Certain S.T.A.R. Labs employees will now have appropriate beam rifles that have real laser sounds.

Movement

·Damage absorption of Perfect Poise now scales with your dominance and restoration stats.

Missions

·Grab and Smash: Corrected an issue where players could not interact with the computer terminals unless the mission was being tracked in their journals. This fix was made for both Hero and Villain versions.

·The Root of Evil: Fixed an issue with the Sequoia Lord not properly "dying" upon defeat.

·Rite Wronged: Improved the mission description text.

·Mechanical Mech: The Nuclear Winter Leader will occasionally be stunned by his own overpowered attack, possibly making your recovery of the black box easier.

This could affect a wide variety of abilities but was reported frequently in association with Savage Growth.

·Dual Pistol

oPurchasing the Sweep Shot weapon skill now also causes your Full Auto ability to fire one additional shot after the attack is activated and after switching directions of fire. When Sweep Shot is purchased Full Auto always causes additional damage regardless of supercharge level.

·Hand Blaster

oFist Slam:  Now applies pushback if the player has 1000 or more Supercharge.

oSolar Flare: Adjusted button input timing to improve feel and prevent unintentional activation of subsequent abilities.

oObjects will no longer count against non-object AOE target limits on Meteor Blast.

oSolar Flame now damages enemies in an area around the target.

oCharged Blast now damages enemies in an area around the target.

Tides of War
The Atlantean Warships have left the straits of Metropolis once again bringing an end to the Tides of War.

Tier 5 Ring Sockets Added!
Colored sockets have been added to all rings Tier 5 and above. This should include any ring greater than Item Level 80. DPS rings will receive Red sockets with Precision as a bonus, Tank rings will receive Blue sockets with Dominance as a bonus, Healer rings will receive Yellow sockets with Restoration as a bonus, and Controller rings will receive Yellow sockets with Vitalization as a bonus.

2v2 Legends Lair Battles
Team up with an ally as your favorite Legends characters to assault or defend a Lair in a 2v2 sudden death battle! Teams of 2 will go head to head in 5 fast paced rounds of Legends PvP action inside a players Base. Look for this new addition coming soon to the Legends lineup in the On Duty menu.

Targeting Improvements
Many improvements have been made to both the soft and hard targeting systems! Players will notice a more fluid soft targeting system that now takes range of targets into consideration, and a hard targeting system that now functions more accurately. The targeting system will also now react better when changing targets while channeling certain abilities, including Light Minigun and Light Fan, and most basic weapon attacks.

Combat Vulnerability Tuning and Improvements
Players will now notice persistent icons for the three weapon vulnerability states; Vulnerable to Block, Vulnerable to Interrupt, and Vulnerable to Block Breaker. These three weapon vulnerability states are now messaged with the same familiar icons that appear when those attacks apply a counter. These will appear as faint blue icons over the players head for the duration of the vulnerability window. In addition to these icons, we have made slight adjustments to weapon attack vulnerability windows. See below for more detailed information on these changes.

Movement Tree Ability Improvements
Each Movement skill tree has had additional functionality given to three of their movement powers! This added functionality allows players access to PvP role counters, regardless of what role they are currently in. In addition to this added functionality, the Movement skill trees have been adjusted so that all Movement types will be granted all movement enhancements for a 1 point investment. See below for a detailed breakdown of the added functionality and skill tree changes.

Speed Force Ruptures Move
All of the Speed Force ruptures throughout Gotham City and Metropolis have been sealed and all current rupture activity has been contained to Central City. Players can still help seal these ruptures and bring order back to Central City by entering the Lightning Strikes Central City teleporter, located in the Hall of Doom and Watchtower.

Vote to Excuse/Vote to Disband Iteration
We have re-enabled Vote to Disband option after making adjustments based on feedback. This option is now located for players in the Social Menu. The Disband option is available to players in groups of three or more. Duo groups will not have this option but will be unaffected by the deserter penalty. If the vote to Disband is passed, players who voted in favor will be removed from the instance without a deserter penalty. Any players that voted against will remain in the instance, the “Open for Matchmaking” option will no longer be available (new players must be invited and accept), and the deserter penalty will be disabled after the initial, successful vote to disband.

Players now have the option to initiate a vote to excuse themselves from an instance. This feature has a few situational restrictions. See the notes below for a detailed breakdown of the restrictions of this feature.

Linkdeath
Linkdeath is a feature that allows players a small grace period to log back into the game when they are incorrectly disconnected. This will give players a chance to return to their group and get back in the action more quickly. Once your character is Linkdead, you must log in to that character before you are allowed to switch to another character.

    Vote to Excuse
    ·The Vote to Excuse option cannot be initiated in the following situations:
    oThe group is already in the process of voting
    oIt is a PvP map
    oThere are less than 3 people currently in the instance
    oYou’ve asked to be excused more than three times
    oThere is pending group loot
    oYou are in combat
