I used to Play FF every day years ago + Heroclix and traded a bit with some users. I quit years ago...gawsh, it has been so long...now I am 28 and almost married and decided to re-ignite some nerdy roots. What is the best way to get back into this game or other comic book games?

I never got into FF (the nazi one) so I have no where to start.

I was wondering if we ever got a mega-site started for all the skins/meshes/mods all together...

Welcome back to the fold Trilan!  It speaks volumes about this community and this game that so many people who wander off eventually come back.  Congratulations on your engagement and impending nuptials!  Finding a girl who will embrace a guy's nerdy side is a beautiful thing. ;)  If you're looking to inject some geekiness back into your life, I think you've chosen a good place to begin.  I've always found that FF is something of a nerd-nirvana in a lot of ways, combining the best of so many imagined worlds.

Anyway, as to your question, well, there is a lot that you can do.  We don't have a megasite, but we do still have a ton of excellent sites that showcase the work of different creators, and there are still really great quality things being produced.  My first piece of advice is actually to buy Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich (the Nazi one you mentioned), as a lot of the really awesome stuff the community has created in the last several years has been geared for that title.  My own little projects, such as they are, only work in FF2.  You can get it for a complete steal at GOG or on Steam:
http://www.gog.com/gamecard/freedom_force_vs_the_3rd_reich
http://store.steampowered.com/app/8890/
A quick note, though, if you buy it through one of those fine stores, your game will not be installed in the default directory and you'll need to edit the shortcuts of any mods accordingly.

Next, here are some of the awesome content sites:
http://www.alexff.com/ (A mecca for all things FF)
http://ffcenter.net/champions/ (Skins, meshes, and skopes; Home to many prodigious talents)
http://forceofparadox.yolasite.com/ (Home to the Laughing Paradox)
http://frp.unlimited2.net/ (Skins, skopes, mods, maps, and more!)
http://heroforce.freedomforceforever.com/ (Home to four fantastic skinners and repository of Ink's meshes)
http://www.newpowerinc.com/ (Skins, meshes, and more)
http://www.tommyboymeshes.freedomforceforever.com/ (Tommyboy's amazing pantheon of meshes)

If you're looking for something specific, try the Master Mesh list, a bit outdated these days, but still tremendously useful:

And here you'll find an accurate listing of the mods the community has produced:

For what it's worth, my own little efforts like the DCUG, TMNT mod, and others, are here:

I hope this is helpful!

There exists a spreadsheet that has an extensive list of skins/meshes and their locations. I don't remember who did it (it's a wonderful resource), and I'm not at home, so I can't just send it to you. :(

But everyone here is generous and helpful, and a post in the requests forum will almost always yeild results.

Cripp12 is the author of that wonderful resource and it can be found here: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/cripp12/files/
