Youtube on TV

Howdy guys, I've recently figured out I can pair my Netflix and Roku Youtube apps with my Youtube account on my computer, and I've been enjoying watching MST3K videos and the like.  I've run into a problem, though, and I am hoping that someone in the community with more technical savy than yours truly might know what to do.

How do you start a video at a particular time (basically, anything other than the beginning) when watching it on a device other than a computer?  I can navigate to a particular point easily enough on my computer, but when it is paired with my TV, Youtube freaks out and either restarts the video or just exits it altogether.  Anyone know a workaround for this?

Any progress on this, Benton?

I must admit I have no clue myself.  I do all of my TV watching either through my XBox 360 (NetFlix and Amazon Prime) or through my Chromecast (Youtube, Hulu).  And I could do Netflix and Amazon through the Chromcast, but I find that having my computer out is kind of a pain and I prefer to pause and etc with the game controller.
