When a character is based on a real life actor or a celebrity.Like Ultimate Nick Fury for example.Or Old Man Logan being Clint Eastwood, just like Max version of Punisher.Valiant also has a few of these in recent times.Whats been bugging me-is this guy Daniel Craig?

That's Stark's brother from Ultimates? Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be Daniel Craig. I think I remember thinking that back when I read that storyline.

Yes,thats Gregory Stark.Mark Millar  REALLY does this a lot.Since he writes for a movie, basicly. At least the main character in his stories is always based on someone famous. The guy from Wanted is Eminem for example.
Speaking of casting,Nick Fury saying that his nose has been smashed more times then Robert Downey Jr -is way funnier now.
Its actually more of a tribute then casting, but its cool enough to be mentioned: during Mark Waids run Fantastic Four meets God.Hes Jack Kirby. :)

Yeah, I remember that from Waid's FF run. That was a great sequence.

I've been reading Bendis' run of New Avengers (the 2010 run) recently and in one issue there's a police detective who clearly based on Lawrence Fishbourne circa his run on CSI. Morgon Freeman was also a member of the X-Men villain group the Purifiers, circa Messiah Complex.

We can't forget about the Tommy Lee Jones-like Norman Osborn, or Sawyer from Lost Tony Stark.
We don't really want to get into the 'casting' of Greg Land's female characters though.

I actually didnt notice that at first.
In some newer incarnations Norman is Julian Mcmahon.Kinda ironic.

In his original appearance John Constantine is Sting. And Lucifer is David Bowie.
About Greg Land-lets rather not.And lets not mention various presidents and vice-presidents that had comic roles.
Also I always thought Ultimate Mephisto lookd familiar. Is he based on someone?

In "Marvels", didn't Alex Ross make Tony Stark look like Timothy Dalton? All things considered, it might make sense that his brother would look like Daniel Craig.
Or Pierce Brosnan...
Or Sean Connery...

HarryTrotter

Yes,he is.Alex Ross is the master of this.In Marvels Namor is Freddie Mercury and Charles Xavier is Patrick Stewart(years before the movies).Kingdom Come also has a lot examples.
Bryan Hitch addmited he based every member of the Ultimates on a celebrity(Cap is Brad Pitt,Hulk is Steve Buschemi) except Thor.Thor is Jesus.Guess they thought the symbolism was too subtle otherwise.

Here is an old one. From Saviour(1989),the main character is Jonathan Ross.

You might wonder why Millar based the devil(spoiler) on Jonathan Ross, but probably best not to think too hard about it.
