Where do I discuss new keyframes?
« on: January 31, 2017, 01:54:39 AM »
Howdy, y'all.
Since I found and installed :ffvstr: on my current laptop, I've been busy uploaded some of my old favorite :ff: skins and meshes into the newer game. I recently decided to restore Afghan Ant's Sailor Scouts and re-discovered how to modify keyframes, and came up with something new to be used on variants of the kittybartender_basic mesh. (It's also female_basic compatible) I plan to upload them somewhere everyone can download them, but until that happens, please tell me where to discuss all things keyframe related. Thank you.

P.S.: Also working on new skin ideas for Valandar's Dirge mesh.

Hi Cybertronian, in regards to the altered Keyframes, if you used either NifSkope or a Hex Editor, then I would suggest putting your Thread in the Hex Editing Section. I look forward to seeing what you have.

Howdy Cybertronian!  I think you have a couple of different options.  First, these are modified keys, skoped with Nifskope?  Or are they edited with an animation tool?

If the former, then the Hexing subforum would be the place to go, if the latter, Meshing, methinks.  Of course, you can also post in Releases for general...well...releases.  :)

This sounds great!  We can always use key variations.  Also, if you're going to work to bring some variety to the Transformers keys, we should talk about that.  I have a Transformers mod started on my HDD, abandoned because Val's keys didn't provide me enough variety to really distinguish the different bots in my character builds.

I wish I had (and knew how to use) an animation tool! If I did, I'd add transformation animations to Valandar's earlier Transformers meshes, or add some more moves on the Megaman meshes -- my Pharaoh Shot, Shadow Blade, and Guts Power need something other than the Arm Cannon.

I had to re-remember a lot, but I added roughly 14 new animations to the keyframes that came with kittybartender_basic using NifSkope.
Back when W. was still in office, I used the same techniques to create a set for my avatar/original hero, Saturn (originally on male_belt_effects, now on his own Saturn mesh). Around 2010, I figured out how to compress one of the energy shield spheres to create a rotating "Saturn ring". If I had the same patience (or someone else does), maybe I (they) could create the ringed planet sphere effect (as a 'start.nif') that Sailor Uranus (and Neptune) create at the start of her World Shaking (and Deep Submerge) attack.

In the meantime, I'm going to upload what I have -- in Hex Editing, and though I haven't came up with any keyframes for the Transformers, I can share the good news that I've finished drawing the indented details (wing flaps and other parts) and winglet/canard decal on Dirge's wings. All I need to work out now is the red and white decal that runs the length of his fuselage.

Some of the newer version Niftools load/export keyframes from later Max versions, Blender and/or Gmax. I don't know whether that helps any. I'm lame with keyframes and only checking out those just now (trying my hand at converting one animation file to a keyframe file). Like Benton said ALWAYS welcome more keyframers here.
