Hey, probably my first post in a couple of years.

So I ran into this game, based off the Sentinels of the Multiverse games which I really like. It is TURN BASED but it really seems reminiscent of Freedom Force.

Nice to hear from you again!

Hey, neat find. It DOES look like a modern spiritual successor to Freedom Force. If it's turn-based, I wonder it's gameplay is similar to X-Com?

You mean this game that I started talking about 2 months ago?

It's turn based and seems to be vaguely similar, but it has a "stance" system that basically gives each hero multiple forms.  You can also build your own heroes.

Hey Cat! Sorry to step on your toes, I have not been around in forever.

Personally I'm a big fan of the Sentinels of the Multiverse property, I've played it a bit on tabletop and then a gazillion hours solo on Steam. I have not touched the 'sentinels tactics' side product which I bet this is more based on, but having a character creator might grant the promise of being able to have custom or recreated heroes.

Mostly these days I'm in the VS 2PCG community, which is a Living Card Game version of Versus only unfortunately with no DC liscence, Marvel only, so I've been making custom DC cards and other projects.

Howdy Lug!  It's great to see you back!

Hey, this looks cool.  I'd be more interested with a different art style and not turn based, but I do really enjoy the Sentinels, so I may check it out.

Just went live on Kickstarter today.

Apparently you'll only be able to build one custom hero and must use the canon characters for the rest of your team.

Well, that's incredibly stupid.  I wonder what kind of modding support it will have.

From what I gathered, we shouldn't expect FF-level modding support—nor FF at all. It's obviously not the most ambitious game ever, but it's backed by a proven game system; I'm very cautiously optimistic. Since I enjoy turn-based games, I've backed it.

And keep in mind, they only asked for $30,000. Even if they already got some funding earlier, this is very clearly not an AAA game. Not even close. It's a fun little indie game that's not meant to have all the bells or whistles of something like FF, simply because they don't have the means. But at least to me, it still looks like fun.

A level editor is now one of their stretch goals and it sounds like more modding type stuff could be added at higher stretch goals.
