So I was trying to get Lex Luthor by Grenadier to work, at first I thought it was because I did not have the mesh, but now I think it might have only been for FF1, so I downloaded the NIF converter but it keeps requesting an earlier version of .NET code...

I really don't want to revert my version by like a decade and I tried a method that allows windows to use previous features from .NET and it still won't work.

So my question is twofold:

  • Am I correct in that the Lex Luthor by Grenadier is for FF1
  • Is there a way to install the NIF Converter other than reverting versions back.

I guess another question if 1. is true and 2. is no is "can someone convert it to FFVTTR?

As far as I'm aware, installing an older version of .NET Framework does not prevent you from using newer versions alongside it. In fact, Microsoft encourages such use. They recommend keeping every version of .NET that you install just for instances like this, where you have to use older programs.

Here's a discussion on Microsoft's site about it: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/can-you-have-both-net-framework-35-and-40-on-64/fd4511fe-54ba-4f24-8148-98d5e64b6aa2

As for Lex Luthor, yeah, he'll have to be converted and if you're super uncomfortable installing EZNifConvert (which I highly recommend you do), I can send you a copy of him.

When I installed my game on my laptop a while back, this issue popped up, and while I already had a newer version of the .Net Framework installed on it, I still needed the 1.1 version in order to get the EZNifConverter to work. Personally, I had no residual issues with having multiple versions of the .Net Framework installed. In fact, when I installed Paint.Net, I had to install yet another version of the .Net Framework, but still no residual issues. But this is, of course, your choice.

If you are interested, however, here is the version that I used when I installed EZNifConverter:

Male_Suit_v2 converted for FFvt3R. It includes the Lex Luthor Skin and a few others as well.

And if you want them to have a gun, then try this one as well:

NOTE: NONE OF THESE ARE MY WORK, ALL I DID WAS CONVERT THEM FROM  :ff: TO  :ffvstr:
