Hey guys newbie and lurker here. I recently got a new gaming pc and want to try to give back to the community

I want to know which version of  :ffvstr:  to get. Do I go with the steam or the gog.

And how hard is it to get the tools and game running on windows 10

Howdy CN, and welcome!  I think either Steam or GOG are good bets.  I've got Steam, but I think GOG MIGHT be a tad more stable because it lacks the Steam baggage.  It's pretty much a toss-up in my mind, though.  Perhaps others will have more definitive opinions.

The tools and game generally work pretty well on 10.  I run them in compatibility mode for XP SP 2, and that covers most problems.

Additionally, I believe that the Mod Tools have been updated (though I could be wrong) to better accommodate the Steam and GoG versions. Those should be at Alex's Freedom Fortress.

Right, thanks CB.  I should have mentioned that!

Definitely use this version of the tools.

Hey, just a heads up. If you want to play the original :ff:, you should definitely get the GOG version, as it fixes various recurring glitches the original version has.

I would also suggest playing through the first game first as (in my opinion) it's campaign is vastly superior to :ffvstr:.
