Title: Tomato: Revolutionary (06/16/08)
Post by: Tomato on March 01, 2007, 12:56:47 PM
I finished this one awhile ago, but I got sidetracked while making the pic... went from cruddy comp to a shiney laptop.

As for why I didn't post it here for so long (it's been up on my devart for awhile >.<) Well... it has to do with me having a problem opening up a new thread for one skin.

Nonono, I'm not quitting, at least as such. If I can ever get the programs I had back up in running I migh pound one out every once in awhile. But as of right now, my copy of disc one of FFvTTR is scratched to heck, which wouldn't bother me except that I can't get stuff like Ctool2 to install without it. Besides which, I'm planning on opening up a webcomic based on my Influx characters, so I probably won't have the time.

So yeah, while it's in incredibly bad taste, The entire purpose of this thread is to show off the final version of what's possibly my last skin for awhile. I will, however, be bugging you guys, about skins and other things.

Welp, so much for that then >.< . I was able to get my ff1 cd to work, though barely, long enough to reinstall so even though I'm running on less-then-cutting-edge right now (people might disagree with me on this, but CTool 2 is a hell of alot eaisier to use) I'm back... sorta kinda. Again, I'm working on some other stuff, but given the fact that I only put out a skin a month or whatever anyway, it shouldn't be a big deal.

Anyway, I did put together a redo of an old skin, my Ch'nybe. Since I redid the design awhile back on devart (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/49452569/), and because my original Ch'nybe skin was probably the worst of the ones I did since I stopped be so sucky, a new skin seemed appropriate.

Edit: Didn't realize the JPEG-ness was that bad, sh*t... I'll fix it later today or tomorrow after work.

Sorry to hear that you might not be around as much, it's always a hit to the community when one of our artists stops producing, but good luck with your webcomic!

Here's a more permanent image, even though it's my hope to at least make some modifications to it before long. Here's the old version, (http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/5494/chnybe1nj.jpg) since the old threads aren't up on here to look at.

I'll make a mini-bio later, right now I have homework, then work.

The older one wasn't bad at all, but this one is definately much better. The darker body suit goes a lot better with the skin tone.

Ok, as I promised, minor bios for the members of Influx, other then Tomato (which is up here (http://frworld.wikispaces.com/Tomato))

Mahty- Most of Mahty's history is currently unknown due to her loss of memory. What she remembers, however, is ending up in the middle of a street just in time to stop a petty street thief. Her only memory of life before that is a single name, Mahteyah. Given the nature of her enhanced strength speed and agility, Mahty sought out information from other heroes, hoping that someone might recognise her. This search inevitably led to Influx.

Kid Rocket & Ch'nybe- According to himself, Peter Barrie has always been special. His ability to fly began at a very early age, and he's spent a great deal of effort improving his agility and speed during flight. Many other heroes can fly, but KR's master of the art is almost completely without peer.

Although they were from the same family, Darek Barrie did not inherit his younger brother's abilities. In order to compete with Peter, Darek sought other means of power, settling on the mystical arts. However, even though he had obtained flight through the use of those magics, Darek's jealosy had long since corrupted him. He sought his brother's death, and it wasn't until he had nearly achieved his goal when he realized how much he had been corrupted. He still maintains his rivalry with Peter however, and it was this that caused he and Kid Rocket to be there the day Influx formed.

Marauder- Although Yami Hiro dons the garb of a ninja, his attitude and style is far from those associated with Ninja. He did not train in some Buddist temple, or learn from, as he would say, "An old asian geezer." Instead, Marauder wears the guise of a ninja out of a sense of style, concerned more with presence then stealth. Still, despite his lack of formal training, Yami's skill with his sword outstrips all but the most learned swordsmen.

As some of you may have already noticed, my next "project" or whatever, is doing avatar redesigns, specifically of people who I eithor admire or respect on these boards. The first is Pwime, who I personally believe will trump me as an artist soon (if he already hasn't >.>) if I don't pick up the pace a bit.

Obviously I'm not done as yet, I've got to do a bit of fixing up on the feet, then move on to the remaining extras and the hair. However, I'd like to see if there are any serious critiques before I move on.

my god, that's SO sweet looking.  the hair you picked is the perfect choice for my avatar, and the mask has a lot of depth to it, especially with the shadows around the eyes.

there's only one (yes, just one because the rest is perfect) thing that's bothering me a little, and I don't even think it's the skin itself, I think it's just the way I'm looking at it, but...is the mask on straight?

man, I can't wait to get this thing in game.

I think it's more the tilt of the head really... But yeah, that hair is awesome.

It looks good and sorta ghostly really. I would say the feet could use a bit of highlighting, but other than that... This inspired me to get around to finish up my Pwime redesign.

Meh, It's actually a Skoped mesh with some of my own pieces. Hair is Tommoyboy's, Leg bands are Ink's, Belt and armbands are mine, and the male_basic is irrational's... mostly. I modified the soles of the boots to where they match up with Male_belt, but whatever.

Yes yes, I'm not dead, it's just I've gone through like six different methods of skinning this thing.

But yes, this is still quite obviously not finished... ignore the head completely, and the metal section of the legs is only a placeholder, I plan on "redoing" the muscles as I go along.

dude, that is looking SO cool right now!  :o  Is that an actual vx mesh, or did you nifskope the spikes on, yourself?

You know...if you were absolutely insane...you could try animating the lava.  To be honest though, it would just be an extra little touch...and I can imagine how hard it is to skin Revenant as is, so it's up to you in the end.

It's finally done! Now I can move onto skteching designs for even more of these things again >.>

Still, I had alot of fun with this. the techniques I used for it were rather different then what I normally use, and even the design itself forced me to move outside of my more "classic superhero/Fantasy" design realm.

As for the nest one I'm planning on... Unlike Revenant, Billdamn and Pwime, all of which were relatively close to the designs of their creators... my next creation promises to be something very... unique  :P

I like it but something about the gray comes off a little dull for some reason. Maybe adding some texture to it. It looks all magma flowing yet too smooth and polished.
Title: Re: Tomato: Revenant complete (04/5/07)
Post by: Lunarman on April 05, 2007, 11:19:06 PM
I feel the same as AA. The lava is very cool, smooth and polished but the grey looks a little metal like, plain and textureless. Now I don't know what you were going for but if it's revs usual rock texture then there's loads of tuts out there for making very good rock textures in photoshop, just my 2p (cos I'm english) ;)

A very good skin still though, as always

Post by: Tomato on April 06, 2007, 07:21:55 AM
While I agree that, looking at it, it's a little blah... I wanted to clarify that it is indeed supposed to be metal. See, the idea was to take his two "power ideas," IE: Magnatism and fire control and smoosh them together. Revenant would have the ability to generate and control super-hot metal from within his own body.

However, I do agree about it being too smooth compared to the "redhot" areas. Any tips?
Title: Re: Tomato: Revenant complete (04/5/07)
Post by: UnkoMan on April 06, 2007, 10:57:22 AM
Really you could just overlay a bit of rock texture from actual rocks.

But I'd be inclined to maybe try what Rev himself has used a number of times. Throw most of the texture onto the refl file. Check out his Iron Man skins and Ultimate Ares for examples of that. It comes out looking great. Also, hightening the contrast of the metal a bit might look alright. Of course then I think you're getting even closer to his original avatar, so maybe you don't want to do that.

But it does look pretty sweet. And those little spikes are an awesome extra touch.

Shade and light all of his metallic parts as if they were in fact separate pieces of metal and fade some of the red of the lava into the metal, also give it a rounded look to make it look more like molten metal.

But yeah, I'm still going to work on this (I've had other stuff on my mind recently... City of Heros and the Wii being the worst offenders) and get another avatar sketch+skin going at some point... I'm looking at different real-life pics of red-hot metal, looking at textures and blends and such for Revenant, and I'm going to try brainstorming once again to come up with an alternate AA design tonight while I'm working on some Earth 2 chars for Benton.

I have a couple of small questions about this skin, more in the nature of opinions then anything else...

1. Should I add a Fire FX, or is it fine without it?
2. Is it releaseable now, or is there anything else I might wanna look at?
3. I'm going to package up my older skins tonight and try to set up a webpage to put them on... should I waste time with the Yahoo Group, or instead focus on getting the site done and release them in a week or so (with the exception of the Pwime skin, since Pwime might wanna use it for a hex)?
Title: Re: Tomato: Revenant complete (04/5/07)
Post by: UnkoMan on April 30, 2007, 12:06:26 PM
1. It looks fine without any FX, but if you want to give it a shot you could try it. Or, you might want to look into animated textures. Imagine the lava actually flowing around. Could be interesting (at the cost of a large file size).
2. The skin itself looks great. I like the little bit of roughness to the refl. I might be inclined to try and make the feet look bare, but it's not super necessary.
3. I'd say focus on getting the site done first. The yahoo group is easy, but if you have it finished you will be (or at least I am currently) less inclined to get around to finishing the site, thinking "Well the skins are already out there. It's not a big deal." But it will be. Especially if you keep pumping out new skins while not having the site finished for all the old ones.

Hmmmm... well, I went ahead and played with a few free layouts from a couple of websites, and finally beat out one I like. I just need to add in a few of my older skins, and set up a few misc pages (about the site, links, etc.) I'm probably going to finish that today, as well as look for a good host(If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears).

I've thought a little about it, and I think Rev's good to go for right now. I might come back later and add an animated texture to it when I've got time(that idea does appeal to me enormously), but for right now I've got a dozen or so other projects I need to work on that I've been neglecting.

The text on here is more for my own happiness then anyone else's, so you can ignore it.

As some of you know, my comp's been having problems with alphas... whether because I can't save above 24 bit tgas, or because I'm running it on a laptop and my integrated(grrr) video card is garbage, or whatever, fact is, Alphas don't like me. Which is fine, only very few skins/meshes even need alphas anymore, thanks to the sheer number of pieces available and to Nifscope. I had one problem though:

Both my own and Bearded's version of the Tomato mesh relied on Alphas for the leaves.

So last night while I'm at work (despite not being scheduled), I redid the whole "Leaves and Stalk" section, and skoped in some FX for the hands. As far as the skin... It's not new, It's in the shot of Influx on the first page, but I didn't make a big deal about it in particular at the time. Feel free to critique it if you want.

Anyway, on to less selfish (Which this was,  :P ) news... I've got the preliminary version of the site finished (though I still have to zip up a couple of remaining things) and I'm waiting for my parents to get money in their account so I can get hosting (I'm paying them for it, but it has to come out of their account)

Meanwhile, I have work again in half an hour, and I'll be taking my sketchbook so I can work on the next few avatar designs.

Errr... yeah, see, about that... that problem I'm having with my alphas? it's part of a bigger one which translates to "Tomato can't play FF1 Nya Nya  :P" I think ffvttr will work, but my copy has through a series of events I won't bother explaining, gotten covered in grape juice and subsequently thrown away, so I need to go out and shell out for a new one.

Worst case though? If I really have to, I think there's a version of my avatar's hero file for FFvTTR hidden in my application data on my old comp. It's god-modded to heck, but it does give a general sense of what he should come out as.

Ink's polaris or his rogue(I know the hair is from Polaris, but I might have moved it to the rogue base), if I recall correctly. I know it worked with ips' Rogue keyframes though. I apologize, I was under the impression that it worked with any female_basic keys.

Anyway, I've decided to hold off on more of the redesigns for a bit. I like how AA's turned out, but I can't seem to get going on Syn. It just feels like I'm forcing out any work I do on them now, rather then just doing it because I want to.

However, I found a muse, at least for the moment. A character I'm suprised nobody has done yet.

Forgive the graininess, this screen was taken in Max, and it auto-resizes any textures to 256.

Little further along with this, I've got to skin on the collar and then do the lower half, but I think it's doing ok sofar.

This is Peter Petrelli from Heroes, FYI. I thought the "You look different..." comment made it obvious, but then again, I knew who it was  :banghead: . Oh well.

Very nice skin, by the way, though his hair seems a bit short and flat to his head...although i guess I shouldn't say that, since I haven't seen what the back of his head looks like.

Er... it's not a pre existing mesh, exactly... more like what happens when a skinner gets his hands on 3DS Max 5 and only barely knows how to use it. I took Male basic, warped certain sections in 3DS max to get a more accurate face, hair, and clothing shapes, then exported and hexed on tommyboy's trenchcoat piece (it's called something else though, but I'd have to look at it again to see exactly what *shrug*)

Future. I figured it's be a little bit better to have the more experienced versions of the characters playable, rather then the less-experienced versions. It might be fun to watch Peter, Hiro, and the rest learn to control their powers, but having a playable character who is likely to blow up with every power use, or one whose power will work only 40% of the time... not so much fun.

I think I want to do one more "Heroes" character(I'll keep it a suprise for now) before going back and doing a few more Avatar redesigns, specifically (for those who haven't been paying attention) Afghan Ant and Syn, then probably do some more heroes characters, if no one beats me to it.

I wanna know though... do you guys think I should do Present Peter? I wouldn't get to him immediately, but I think I might do him after the aforementioned avatars then releast Future/Present variations in a two-pack.

Personally, I'd like to see him even more than this future version. I guess I just like them more in the present.

This looks pretty darn good though. The eyes really stand out... Those aren't photo eyes are they? They seem to walk the line.

Yeah, I basically photoskinned it, and when I was making modifications to the color, highlights, and shadows, I avoided the eye area.

As for "present" Peter... If I do him (which is more then possible at this point) I'm thinking about using this outfit (http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/3650/peterod5.jpg), unless I see something nicer in the final episode.

This mesh and skin really look great.  And while reading the post on Petrelli, I noticed the scar on his face. Incredible attention to detail.

I stop checking this thread and NOW you guys post. Evil evil people you are >.>

But no, I'm not gone for good, or anything close. I finally got an artistic spurt on another project I've been trying to get off the ground for awhile, and I want to use it up before I go back and fix up a few of the problems I've been discovering in my Sylar(sorry Hiro fans, I'm doing him after I do those AA and Syn skins) mesh/hex.

However, to tide you guys over, here's a preview. It's actually almost nothing, especially since I'm probably going to redo the face and the pants, but whatever. It should let you guys know what's being done, at least

DO NOT BE FOOLED! This skin is not as done as it looks... I cheated a bit on the preview, added a quick recolor of the C6 costume base for the shirt and made the extras one color, just to make the preview look better. Right now I'm more concerned with the skin job on the face and the mesh itself... What do you guys think sofar? Keep in mind, I'm meshing this too, so If something isn't shaped right I can fix it.

(for any poor soul who read it before my brain kick started (I HATE mornings) I apologize for the pun, it was not intended and is gone now.)

the shape of the head looks dead on it has a slight vertical longness and thin-ness just like the real Sylar's head. What you have skinned so far looks good. My only suggestions would be to make his eyebrow's thicker, he's got some real exaggerated eyebrows. Also the eyes seem a bit too aggressive, Sylar had a bit of a sad puppy dog eyes thing going on. Everything else is looking really good so far..............is Hiro next after Sylar? :P

Heh, yeah, now that I look at them again, the eyebrows are off... But whatever, compared to getting the shape of the head right, that'll be easy. I'll also pull out my copies of the episodes, see if I can get a better shot of the eyes.

No, unfortunately. I've got to reskin avatars for a few (http://freedomreborn.net/archive/index.php?action=profile;u=98) losers (http://freedomreborn.net/archive/index.php?action=profile;u=1820), before I get back to Heroes characters. My plan is to do normal Peter Petrelli first after that so I can release the set, then work on both Present and Future Hiro.

*Cough, hack wheeze*

Excuse me for just one moment.

*walks off and screams, then returns*

Ok then... I was almost done with this (have to finish up the collar and do the undershirt is all, take me maybe 20 minutes) when, while attempting to convert the thing to work with a set of ffvttr keyframes, the mesh was EATEN. I am not even kidding, I brought it up and it was gone. Like he'd taken Claude's power or something >.>

It's not so much a big deal from one standpoint, because I've got the main portion of the mesh in max format and I can hex on the hoodie from the Azrael_Tvlite mesh again fairly easily. the problem lies in the fact that I did a majority of the modifications to the mapping of the mesh with nifskope, rather then in max.

Realistically, this will only push me back by maybe an hour, but it's irritating all the same.

Well, that was fun. Stayed up until like, 3 in the morning because I could not stop myself until this is finished.

I tried a technique for the shirt that turned out rather well, I think. Used a couple of shots of Sylar that I took myself and that were sitting on the heroes website to create kind of a photoskin shirt, which I made almost invisible over my base color and then built onto with highlight and shadow layers.

Actually, I did my own version of the AA head (and yes, I did modify the mesh to fit that smile AA >P) in part because I don't think I could get the max for Ink's original mesh, and partly because, if I recall corrently, the AA mesh used hair from another mesh that Ink integrated into his with permission from the original mesher.

So I just took the Male_Basic mesh and made my own, then hexed it onto the original to use the cape.

As far as another preview... I'm going to work on it some more tonight and I should have a preview for you tomorrow morning. I'm not being a jerk or anything, I just don't want to make a preview of something when It's going to be 3 times better tomorrow.

Errr... yeah... about that... I was going to upload Sylar, Revenant, Red Ant, and Damnage yesterday evening after work, but ummm... My grandmother died or my chickens hatched or something* and I got distracted.  However, all I have left to do is actually zip up Sylar(I have it all set up though), make up the appropriate Misc page, and add the little Nifskope addendum to the site. Depending on when I get it done, I'll eithor upload it tonight or tomorrow around four, when I get off work.

See, it's stuff like this that'll cause me to die of a heart attack before I'm 30 >.<. I'll go ahead and see about a middle ground on the eyes... so the eyelids are still there, but not visible to the extent they were before.

Anyway, One other thing... I've thought about it, and I've decided I will NOT be releasing my Future Peter Petrelli skin, and I will redo it when I do the Present Peter, since I'm releasing them both together anyway. It might mean it'll take me a little longer to release them, but most of the pieces will be the same for them both, just different colors and textures for the clothing, and I believe having a Future Peter that does not look more like Sylar then Peter is a definate plus

I agree with AA. I like the older eyes better. It's the shape and the lower eyelid. Those look good. Really good.

I think what the others were saying was more along the lines of... Bring all the shadows in a little bit. That way the "pits" the eyes rest in don't look quite as large. I'd probably lighten the cheeks a bit, too, but I tend to make really soft faces anyhow. You tend to have a very soft style with everything else, so it stands out to me.

Grah, Life/work has kicked my butt this last week, but I've got the day off today so I can finish up those last few details on his left boot (highlighting the foot, doing the sole, etc.) and the glove (gold bands, sphere, etc.)

I had kind of a problem with the glow/relf layers, because I find it eaisier to edit the mapping in nifskope, and I fiddled with it instead of looking at the solution (http://freedomreborn.net/archive/index.php?topic=43097.0). And of course, my idiot brain decided that deleting the old texture node and making a new one as a good idea.

That... didn't help me. Ctool kept crashing, and I suspect FF would have if I'd bothered with it. I had to look at the texture for the cape and duplicate the settings for the new texture to get it right again.

Not exactly the greatest cape ever, but considering it came from scratch, I'm ok with it. And, for anyone who cares, I hexed the emissive color to be SLIGHTY lighter. It doesn't seem to have any serious effect in-game, and it removes something that always gave me problems with the ctool version

Anyway, unless anyone has anything else, AA is officially done, I guess. Onto Syn!

Before anyone kills me, the only thing sofar that's actually mine as far as skinning is the cape, and even that's a placeholder until I finish the hex, which is mostly done. I want to play with some more capes, I've got the headdress thing to tack on, and I want to play with the arm in 3ds max a bit more (I fixed most of the arm clipping, but there's some serious clipping on the shoulder that bugs me.)

And Unko, there is a reason for that. I usually go for weeks on these things because I procrastinate work of any kind, even the kinds I enjoy, so by the time I'm done I've had the time to learn/read about at least one new technique and tweeked like, 3 others. For instance, in Mur's thread, IPS suggested a way to make the shadows more orange on his yellows, which helped me tweek the yellow areas on my AA.

If you want a temporary fix, there's a copy of one up here (http://www.kotsproductions.com/Tomato/Skins/TomatoMOD.zip) that works fine, at least in my version. It's a bit bigger as far as size (because it comes with a soundpack and a bunch of other stuff for Unko's FR Mod) but it should work. Only problem is, it doesn't have the fx like the FF1 has, but it'll work until I get the official one up. I just feel stupid because I should have thought of it before now.

The hex was done as of the time just before I took this pic, but when I took it I thought of a nifty way of doing the cape. For those who haven't seen it, the preliminary design for Syn (I've modified it a bit since) is up here. (http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/6710/synbl2.jpg) I was just going to leave the cape as it is, but while looking for an appropriate shoulderpad, I found a few pieces that I might be able to add onto a cape that'll make it look like it's draped over the shoulder. It might be a little junky, but it should suffice in liew of a meshed cape.

As far as what I've got though... There's still a lot of clipping on the sleeve, but it's there even on the gambit mesh itself, so I can't really do much even in Max. It's all in the shoulder though, and the Shoulderpad covers almost all of that, so with a flat color underneath it shouldn't really be noticible.

Again, the skin on the sleeve isn't mine, I just recolored the standard for the purpose of showing off.

Holy... cow...

That Syn hex looks friggin' great! Hopefully the draped parts will only add to that.

I can't wait to see this done, though.

Heh, It's not really mine... I googled a bunch of tatoo paterns and cobbled them together.

The cape might take longer then I expected... The hexed on piece still wasn't looking right, so I thought I'd be a smart alec and mesh an appropriate cape myself... But I screwed up the physiquing, and it looks as though I'll have to start from scratch again. Plus, I've got a mission trip coming up on the 15th (No electronic devices, and I wouldn't take my laptop regardless) and I have a couple of pieces to mesh for Murs tjat take priority

After a month or so of on and off attempts to get a working cape in the style I wanted (Read: Banging my head against the wall due to lack of any and all physiquing skills) I finally broke down and asked tommyboy for assistance. After ever so gently telling me it would take an extreme ammount of work (duplicating the whole shoulder on the cape and matching the attachments exactly) for something I didn't really need, and after a few PMs he helped me decide simply to move a cape down and skin the shoulder directly to the thing.

So I'm back to working on it, though I don't have all that much more yet >.<

Errr... actually... I lost it, sorry. My computer spontaneiously combusted when I banged my head into it playing pong, and I lost everything.

Yeah, I'm kidding. I actually meant to release it with Syn, back when I thought this  skin wouldn't take me 6 months(I blame 3ds max. It doesn't let me do impossible stuff just because I want to.) but now that you've reminded me of it again, I realize I want to work on it just a bit more before I release it... not because of the skin though. I have an extra little suprise or two I want to add to the mesh :P. Shouldn't take more then a couple of days to get it up if I start work on it tonight (I do my skinning work near bedtime, when I can't goof off on the internet comp anymore)

Made a few different versions of the released mesh, and from left to right they are: Original, Tomato Redesign, and Classic. My reason for this was while Ink made a fantastic Ink v2 mesh I encountered a few things that, while not exactly things I or others couldn't deal with, it is fairly limiting. The gloves are meshed in, which is great when it's a specific design (which is why I do it all the time >P) but not so great if you want one longer glove. So when I came up with my design I knew I was going to have to mesh something new, whereas I know not everyone has access 3ds max.

As for the second, I also recognise that Ink used hair from another mesher, used with permission for that mesh, which is sort of a hexing gray area. If I wanted to modify the mapping on the skin for some reason, It would make things sort of complicated when they don't really need to be.

Meh, I was going to update today (Added gloves, finished up boots, tweeked the colors on the chest and pants, and updated the mesh so the face mapping isn't as screwy and doesn't muck with the refl) but my computr's being screwy... for some reason certain keyboard commands on my laptop (such as shift, 0, and print screen, among others) are being hokey... I'm going to restart it, see if that does anything.

I got an interesting idea for the boots and gloves, which I can 100% thank tommyboy for, though he doesn't know it. Once I can make a screen, I'll post it up and see what you think.

edit: It worked! or I think so... print screen did at least, so I can post this now, huzzah!

Almost done now... just have to skin a few extras and figure out what I want to do with the belt.

Y'know, I was actually suprised how well the body came out... normally I try to avoid bases other then my own and those belonging to C6 (because typically they fit my style better) but Aly Cat's base worked well for this one.

I really love the way this is coming out one thing though have you thought about skoping on the tunic from Ink's Mastermind and alphaing out the correct areas to create the hanging shoulder cape?

I'll try it, but I don't know how good it'd end up... Alphas don't always work on my laptop, because the graphics card isn't exactly top of the line. That's why I ended up meshing out new leaves for the Tomato mesh, actually.

Yeah, but you weren't, jerk (kidding)

If nothing else though, I'll see if I can do that portion of it on the family computer. I don't have a good image program on there, but I can d/l a trial of PSP or Photoshop if it comes to that.

My main concern right now, (I can work around it though) is the belt... the refl on there looks kind of staticy. Anybody know what's causing that so I can fix it?

AA, I hate you. And you as well, Ink. You're just as guilty as AA is for this.

There's something very wrong with Alphas not working for My own personal skin, but working for Syn's remake, and I suspect tampering is involved. Regardless though, the tunic from Ink's Mastermind worked out very nicely, and I took care of most of the clipping on the body itself... still not perfect, but the awesomeness of the tunic makes up for it.

Should be done by the end of the week, leaving me to work on some other projects, though as for the immediate future that might not include skins.

Edit: I finished it at 3:00 this morning, HUZZAH!!

Yeah, it's been bugging me too... don't know why it's doing that, since the Gloves use the same settings as the boots, but I should be able to fix it fairly quickly.

Yeah, I think I Downloaded every version you'd done of your avatar, though I mostly referenced the one Juanco did for his micros... I went through like, 3 different versions before I came up with the design (http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/2339/synmf2.jpg) that closely resembles this one.

This was on purpose... I figured Syn was this vampire-cyborg thing, and that as a result, the real human pieces of his body would have a certain ammount of decay.

I was going to take a temporary break from to work on a mesh/hex for someone else (he knows who he is) and to kind of focus on school, but then I realized... I'm almost two weeks ahead on homework for one class, another only has me doing 100 word paragraphs (for those who do not realize how long that actually is, this post is well over that) and the only one I really need to focus more on is spanish.

So, I'm working on something else now. It's not heroes just yet, I'm sorry to say... I don't really focus on any projects unless I have enthusasm for them, and Heroes has sort of trailed off at the moment... I'll probably get back on it after season 2 though.

As for what it is... well, let's just say this project literally bites.

At the time I'd started this, I hadn't been aware of any really professional version of the Sharkmen put together (I've found a couple since, but I'm going to just do it anyway, just because it's relatively uncomplicated... And after Syn, I'm looking forward to an easy skin), So I decided to just make one meself. Ironically, the pieces from mesh actually works well with another project I'm currently working on.

I would hope not, as I haven't uploaded it yet. If it had, that would mean it uploaded itself... and considering the character it's of, that's not a happy thought.

I'll see if I can get it zipped and uploaded tonight, but if nothing else it'll be up by wednesday or thursday, depending on how my "tutoring" goes (Tutoring a daughter of someone from my father's work in Geomotry... The sad thing is, the first one wasn't the worst... I made a note at the bottom about another one which I looked at and almost vomited. Seriously, I could use a 16-color pallete and come up with something 300x better.

But yeah, you are totally at fault for the new one... you made that comment, and it was as though every single nit-picky thing I could do with the skin (red from the face bled into the eyes, face was too bright, highlights on the eyes weren't strong enough) and with the mesh (He'd always been too buff for my conception of the character, my recent drawing had glove and boot fins, and when I intitially meshed the leaves I'd merged them with Booleon instead of Attach, and it created all these odd faces everywhere that I didn't really want

EDIT:  You know what, i think i can top that.  Before i made my craptacular Green Lantern "debut" skin, i made this horribly kitbashed Redeemer 3...i'll see if i can find it.

Sadly, I don't have any of my first skins, they were hand painted in Photoworks with the brush tool and nothing else. Oh the fun times, lol.

I've been working on some projects since I last posted (Last post was a month ago? Ack!) But all of it was in pre-skinning stages up to today, and dividing my time with the mod and the MM challenge slowed my pace to a crawl. However, I've finally got all the skoping/meshing done, so time to skin again

Hellscorp from Villains Reborn. I did the Sharkmen already, so I thought it was only fair that I complete the set.

Dude, that face looks vicious! The eye shape and details surrounding it look very well done.

Is that grill his mouth or some part of it's costume?

Looking forward to the final version.

I'm assuming it's a grill, though I'm going off the design in the Villains Reborn comic, which I didn't design. For all I know MJB just drew his fangs funny  :P

Why are you all hating on MJB's Hellscorp design? It's a good design. Hellscorp=win.

Villains Reborn (http://www.captainspud.com/mjb/) -for those who didn't get to read it.

Edit: As to cat's post (Chuck+Heroes were on when I posted before, so I sped through my post), Yeah, I don't like Mainstreme much. I figure between C6 and his army of skins (if he ever submits them), plus the combined efforts of AA and Revenant, Mainstreme is fairly well covered. Plus, I like avatars more... I think because I know the people behind them.

It looks really smashing indeed. However, if you are going straight from the comic, well it doesn't really look like metal. Granted, you don't even have a refl on yet. The metal seperation parts don't really look seperate either. Just like a spandex hood. I'm sure you will correct.

Anyhow, it does look real sweet. The eye area is especially good.

Meh, if I have time today (classes range from noon-9pm for me, ack!) my plan is to tighten up the edges of the mouth plating and the ears, then start more work on the neck (I finished basic highlights on the head prior to going to bed last night) and get that squared away.

Bit of an update... clarified some details, finished the neck, got started on the chest logo... I'm going to give dome depth to the black box next, adjust a few things on the face I've noticed since uploading the pic, then get started on the Armor plating on the body.

As a minor note- I was going to make the skull white like in the logo, rather then the red MJB used (just to break up the ZOMG RED), but It didn't look right, so I changed it back.

Pfft, even if I did say that it wouldn't help. I've said it, 7, possibly 8 times before now? And yet, here I am. That's why I'm not really as bothered as certain others are about this mass exodus thing... They'll return.

I will say though, that I may not be as active in the next few weeks... I'm still working on skins and the mod and crud outside of FR, but I'll be online less often(once every 1-3 days instead of 1-3 times per day). It's not a great situation, but at least I'll pound out skins and such at a faster pace with less online distraction. I might also be gone around new year unless I can find a job.

I repete I will still be here just not for the rediculous periods I have been.

Yes, indeed you do.

I've been slowly creeping up on the MUA modding scene (nothing really major, just HUD images and the like sofar...) off and on for awhile now... I've always liked the play system better then FF's, but the fact is it's just not mod-friendly.

My main problem is just working up the desire to do anything with it though. I've mentioned this before, but Mainstreme characters don't hold that much interest to me anymore, and the only ones I'd have any desire to do eithor come with the game, or have been done well by another skinner. However, I was bored today, and it occured to me that though I'd seen someone ask about it before, there didn't seem to be any Classic, Blue+Yellow Wolverine skins running about, at least not that I could find. So I skinned one.

To be quite honest, it's little more then a glorified recolor, but I'm happy with it. It's better then the XML1 version, which was all I was really going for anyway.

It's an idea, but I have a good reason for not doing it... I plan on making his armor by having dozens of overlaping sections, and having shoulder pads and gloves meshed out while all the other sections aren't would look really cheesy. Short of meshing out every piece (which I unfortunately don't have time for) I just don't see it working out well.

In the end, it's the same reason I chose not to mesh out the grill on the face, despite my initial love of the idea... it would have looked nicer if you were looking JUST at the face, but having that meshed out while the rest of the mesh was flat didn't fit too well.

I'm not saying I won't eventually come back to this and possibly make a character-specific mesh for this skin, but right now I just don't have the time.

Ok, I have good news, and I have bad news, and then more good news and a preview.

First bit of good news is that I have finally upgraded my previously outdated image program (PSP 8.0) for a more recent version (X2), and that this upgrade is making my life much eaisier now that I've begun to get used to it and set all my shortcuts up. Though I was very comfortible with 8, it had this ever so slight problem which involved the porgram crashing almost 50% of the time when I would use the line/pen tool. Since I have been using that tool exclusively to create Hellscorp's armor, having the new version, y'know, not crash has been something of a novelty.

Bad news is, it's that time of the semestre again... over the next few weeks I've got finals, which involve the dreaded last-minute stress, studying, and anurisms.

However, that also means that once the two hell weeks are over, I don't have school for another month or so. I might have to go see my older sister for a week or so in there, or possibly job evils(If I get a job I don't have to go to my sister's, because job would come first), but eithor way, I have more free time then I did with 5 classes (including Calc II, ack)

And finally, an update on Hellscorp:

Semi-minor update to Hellscorp (I had calc homework+studying for quiz as well, so I only finished off the torso today. Most of the back had been done during the last update, I just didn't feel like hexing off the cape) but I've included some shots of the cape and back as well, just to make it seem like I'm going faster than I actually am  :P

I'm quite happy with how the cape turned out, actually. Oh, and once again, I want it stated that I am overjoyed that I have a non-program-crashing pen tool now.

Yeah, that's actually the entire point of my base... it does almost nothing as far as depth, so I have much more room to manipulate each skin individually.

Edit: Does anyone know Hellscorp's email or have some way to contact him? I'd like to give him a link here so he can see the finished skin.

Also yesterday, my truck wouldn't start so we had to rent another vehicle, because of which I missed the first half of a spanish exam, which is one of my two lowest classes this semestre. To top it off, the rental vehicle is only registred to my mother, but I have to drive it to get to class.

So, in a nutshell, I might not be skinning for the next few days.

OMG! That is my worst nightmare..seriously..

I've got my Spanish final tommorrow afternoon, and I just hope to high heaven that my car holds up in the cold weather here in Michigan..

Sorry, Tomato. I hope things work out ok for you  :(

wow, that sucks. I was wonderin' what ate you yester-eve and I figured you had more pc problems or you wandered off. Hopefully all your files are safe (or at least easily recoverable) and your car problems disappear and your exams go alright and...maybe Christmas will be a good day for you.  ;)

Bad news+Good news...

Bad news is, the virus in question is quite nasty. We reinstalled the OS, but anytime we try to install anything, be it drivers, programs, whatever, it tanks the system again. It's a strong possibility we'll have to format(for those not in the know, that means we're in effect deleting everything. That's not exactly it, but it's close enough).

Good news is it doesn't seem to have effected any of the individual files, (just the OS and exectables, though I'm not even sure there... it effected the firwalls and anti-virus stuff, but I don't know if it attacked other executables at all) so I've been able to transfer everything FF-related to my portable hard drive that wasn't already on there.

Anyway, what this means to non-techy people... I won't be skinning for somewhere between a week to a month, depending on how long it takes to buy/find copies(finding a CD in my house is like finding pirate gold ) of various programs I use.

I'm back baby!

Well... sort of anyway. My laptop chord snapped earlier this week (AUGH!) so at the moment I'm limited to stealing my father's between the time he gets home from work and before I go to bed. HOWEVER, I should be receiving a new chord next Monday, and I'm done with finals, so I should have a lot more time to skin... or to waste ineffectually, one of the two. I also just bought a new art tablet (the old one I had just didn't really work well with my laptop, and was so bulky as to be useless) which is working out well so far.

As for God Girl... obviously still not done, I'm currently working on the face, before finally starting on the extras (It is odd though... usually I work on faces first... *shrug*) then I'll package my last few skins and get started on the Meshmatters Challenge, as well as finally giving some much needed attention to the FRmod.

That's excellent! BTW, is she up on your site somewhere? Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see her in your skins section...

PS: Do the READMEs for your other skins have a note about the recommended keyframes for them? Looking at the Influx Pack and Mahty, I noticed a mention if which original mesh it was or where the 'skoped came from. Does that mean the animations from the original mesh will work? (I don't have much experience with meshes with 'skoped parts.)

All of the most recent stuff (IE: Everything from the Shark-men on) hasn't been uploaded yet, because until this week I haven't had the time, but even if I had this skin would not be up primarily because it just isn't done yet. However, as I have mentioned before (several times now, actually) once I finish her, I will work on getting readme files and portrait files together.

As for Readmes... I actually am going to go back through with all my old stuff and update them (mostly because I either neglected portraits, or made stupid ones) anyway, so I might as well go through and update that area of the readmes as well... thanks for letting me know, I would have left them as-is otherwise.

As far as a temporary solution though, I'll make a quick list.

Female meshes- Both versions of Mahty and the in-progress God Girl run on the keyframes native to either Ink's Rogue or his Jean Grey (I can't be sure without checking, but I think either one will work.) because I find Ink's female bald to be one of the better female bases to work from, and the Rogue/Jean Grey keys to be more versatile.

Male meshes with fingers and/or the name "Vertex" somewhere in the 'skope credits- Any of Vertex's keyframes will work fine, though I suggest the Mage keys for Ch'nybe.

Kid Rocket- I sort of put this in the readme already, but my brain must have fallen asleep when I wrote it because I typed "capable of using the Superboy_SA_REN mesh" rather then "capable of using the Superboy_SA_REN keyframes"

All other male meshes- Every other male mesh uses MB keys, even Marauder (though it is intended for Tommy's weapon keyframes)

Small issue on my end, though--when I try to use the YoungHero mesh in-game, she's waist-deep in the street, as if she's standing not on the ground but on a spot about 3 feet below it. Do I have to use some particular version of Rogue keyframes? (I'm using a hexxed set I got off of NPI.)

Ugh, stupid triksy thing... I took the skope from an Irrational FFvTTR mesh (imported then re-exported for FF1 using the niftools exporters :P)  and the Root_Track that I copied along with it (which is what lets the skirt not clip nearly as much, and consequently why I used it) moved the mesh down  . Anyway, I have a solution mapped out, I jst have to go back and forth in-game until I get the mesh to walk on the earth again

Oh, and FYI, I also think I had a breakthrough as far as 'skopes... a breakthrough for me anyway. I've found a way to be able to scale and move sections of a mesh based on what keys they are attached to, which will come in handy for some of my formerly-stalled projects...  :D

Edit: Just uploaded the corrected zip file, sorry about the confusion everyone, please don't kill me! Also, reuploading my copy of the AA skin, since my concern is that it got corrupted in-transit.

I agree with Cat.

I think the bottom of the nose just needs some nostrils or a bit more definition, and maybe just a slight pinkish tone to the lips. Otherwise, barvo on some pretty awesome hair and eyebrows.

Redid the nose and mouth areas, upped the contrast on the skin area so he's not quite as flat looking, and what have you. I'm still not 100% happy with the mouth, so if anyone has any ideas for it let me know. FF, I did try adding the pinkish tint, but it eithor wasn't noticable enough to be worth keeping, or it looked like he was wearing lipstick.

I feel bad about not having anything to share with you guys after all this time, but I feel I owe it to you all, especially Carr and Pod (who were both on my to-do list for the challenge Unko's already finished >.>) to at least let you know what's going on and why I haven't been on... To put it simply, school is evil. The semestre just started, and I've been spending my time wrestling with the idea of not having 8 hours to waste on video games before finally getting around to my hobbies again.

However, I'm taking an Advanced Art course this semestre which has sort of reignited my desire to create art. During the last few weeks I was skinning, it had waned quite a bit, which was part of the reason I didn't really want to skin as much (and why I was getting more and more irritable), but I've gotten a boost I very much needed. Because of that I expect I'll be back in full gear shortly.

Grah, didn't expect it to be this busy... ok, school was much tougher then I had previously thought, I'm in the middle of trying to transfer to another college, and I've got parents whining about getting a job for the few insignificant months I have before I inevitably move. This is of course not mentioning the renovations we've had to do... 2 days spent building a wooden playset for my mother's day care, grah.

Granted, I have had some time to do skinning junk, but I got brainwashed into doing a DBZ thingie (not 3d, though probably more complicated) partly because I couldn't bring myself to do the villain uniforms because I'd come to hate the design. However, they've been redesigned today, and by a miracle I have the day off. Keep your fingers crossed.

Edit: It's alive!!!!!!!!!!!!

But most of all... how he looks like he'd be the cocky thug type on the team. The Namor, if you will. Except Namor's a jerk even when he's with the good guys, so just imagine him on a team of villains.

Yeah, but practically speaking, Namor is a pansy. Reed alone could probably take him out. Carrivagio though... he could kill the others with his pinkie.

i can honestly say i love that skin. the face is brilliant. one of the best face jobs i've seen on a skin. your skills have really matured. this skin is completly hot and i have no criticism for improvement.

... i have a couple general comments... the skull belt seems out of place with the rest of the costume. there should definately be a belt and buckle for detail purposes but what was the reasoning behind adding as skull specifically? maybe something more military styled would be more consistant with his costume? - just a thought.

also, as a personal touch i would think a subtle orange/red glow in the eyes in the glow layer would be a nice touch in darkened maps.

Thanks man. Coming from you, that means alot

This was part of the Meshmatter skin challenge where we were tasked with making a team uniform for the Villains/Heroes. The Hero uniform, which was a mishmash of designs we(Unko, Billdamn, TPB, and I) all did, included the FR logo on the shoulders, so I wanted to contrast it with the Hellscorp/Villains Reborn logo (the skull) on the belt. The idea was to have that belt, with eithor a Red or Dark Grey band, on each villain, with different colors and details for each individual member.

However, I do think it is to simple, so I want to go back and tweek it a bit more before release.

As for the eyes... I'm packaging two skins, one with glowing red irises. I haven't shown it though, primarily because I overdid the glow so it'd be noticible in-game, but it looks kind of cheap close up.

Just a preview shot of Podmark to tantilize you poor saps before I actually make it into Spring break (by the time most of you will have bothered to read this, around Noonish Friday EST, I'll be done already, but as of now I haven't yet taken it) though despite the fact I'm sure most of you will think I'm teetering on the edges of being done, I'm really not. I've been doing this skin sort of backwards because I'm using the same uniform base as Carr, so alot of the more tedious stuff I'd normall tackle first (face, hexing, extras, face, etc.) Ignore the pouches entirely, I haven't finished them and I just didn't feel like making them all invisible.

Would have focused on starting the face before doing some of the extras like that, but I had a change of heart before I got started... my original intent had been to basically duplicate the mask design from the C6 version, but I decided it would be better if I did something a bit more unique. I'm too tired to do anything more today but I'll sketch out a few different ideas tomorrow. Still, I suspect that I won't stray too far from the C6 mask, because it's got alot of character.

Wow, I didn't even know there was a DAH 2. I can see those two being quite the time sinks.

This Pod is looking great, though. I'm digging these "uniforms." It's enough that they will look similar together, but not like the same guy over and over. And both the metals and reds look really fantastic.

Still have a few more details left to add to the head (seams to the mask, tweeking the mask mesh to fit better over the head, etc.) but this is about what you'll be ending up with if no one has any comments.

It's an awesome costume. I like the additions of seams on his mask. Makes it look a bit less blank.

One thing however... I don't know how the metal mask is suppose to be built but shouldn't the shadow lines take precedence over the highlight lines, instead of the other way around? It's throwing me off a bit.

You know, for a project that involved only one new skin and pieces I finished months ago, this took an aweful long time to finish.  Finally sat down and skinned the "Casual" outfit today, so now I'm going to bore you all with poorly written snippits about each outfit.

Classic(middle)- This is Tomato's hero outfit which he wears all through his Influx days, and something I consider to be like Spidey's outfit... I might try to change it or revamp it occasionally but I always seem to default back to it.

Uniform(right)- This is his "Freedom Corp" uniform, a group which he joins after Influx ends (I won't say why because I'm still dreaming I might do a webcomic with the Influx characters eventually) which I picture as an expansion on Billdamn's "Damnage Inc." as well as many other related ideas, which dealt with the capture of villains and putting them to use catching other villains.

Casual(above, left)- I've labeled this "Casual" attire, but thats actually inaccurate... In my brain my name for them is the "FF-outfits" but the FF stands for Final Fantasy not Freedom Force which is why I keep calling them absurd things like "Casual" or the like. It's still a uniform, of a sort, though it's actually more akin to battle attire. The idea behind it is he gets swept into the "FF" world, but he doesn't feel comfortible putting on the 16 different belly-button shirts over top of each other so he throws on a tee-shirt, jacket, and pants.

QuotePretty cool.

Yeah, actually. Chnybe's "Casual" attire (http://tomatoisjphansburg.deviantart.com/art/Darek-Redesign-63850884) is very much dependant on his trenchcoat in terms of design. But in many respects Tomato is me, and I don't think I'd ever be comfortible in a trenchcoat. I actually own the outfit tomato wears with the exception of the fire patch, and it's something I'd be more comfortible in.

That reminds me... they actually did a thing where some news guy, Tucker Carlson I think, said he'd eat his shoes if a book sold over 1 million copies, and when it happened the author sent him a shoe-shaped cake on television. If I can find it I'll link it, it's pretty funny. I know, it's completely irrelevant, but it's my thread so blah  ;)

I didn't skin him, no... I wanted to work on some of the original redesigns and reskins I've been ignoring in favor of the avatars. I've been wanting to retool Red Ant here since November, and I've had early hexes in place for awhile. I don't mind doing it at some point, but my avatar skins almost double the number of all my other ones.

Ugh... My brain hurts. Turns out there's a slight problem which I didn't catch until I looked at the mesh pieces on a case by case basis which I intended to post here... almost all the non-irrational pieces on here belong to 2 meshers, myself and Tommyboy, with the exception of those two little sections on the tips of the feet. They come from the C6 mark 3 mesh, made by Lord Ehmsidy. It's an eays fix, as it's one of the most easy things to make, but it just annoys me that I almost didn't catch it.

Kid Rocket is, shockingly, done using a new custom mesh (all of it was by me using irrational pieces) and once I'm finished with the meshwork for it his alter ego will also be done. Still working on the skin here (obviously) but I'm making progress.

I didn't see Kid Rocket until just now. Whoops!

I agree about his musculature being a bit over-defined, unless that's part of the character. The face, of course, looks great. The mesh, too. What'd you use for the gloves?

As for making him fly with a cannonball effect... you could try grafting him to Fluffy's Nova mesh. I know AA did that for an actual Cannonball skope.

Heh, and here I thought finding this thread would be hard...

Ok, a few things on Kid R before current events: Yes there's a reason for muscle development, but I won't go into it until later. As for the mesh, I did all the meshing there, including glove and boot flares. And I will certainly try that for the flight FX, thanks. My only concern is he uses a different keyframe sive then the MB meshes.

As to why I've not been here... long story short, I lost creative interest, couldn't bring myself to care, felt bad about not caring when I'd agreed to do something, and stopped coming on. Not anyone's fault, I just tend to take this too seriously after awhile and forget it's fun rather then work, and sometimes it takes something... revolutionary to get me going again.

Going back to my Anime "roots" here, whatever that means... Kudos to any geeks like me who recognise her.

@C4- You still want me to finish that thing I was working on? I have all my files still, and now that I'm not depressded I can work on it again

Edit-Meh, this should be obvious, but before anyone asks... the skin is filler while I finish Earrings, Bangs, and whatever other mesh pieces I'm missing.

You should work on what frankly motivates you. Do not force yourself on works that you consider as chores, You'd rush those or postpone those indefinitely and waste your time.
Skoping, meshing ,skinning are 'works' but it's supposed to be a pleasure too!

Moral and creativity are deeply connected.
A little depression can undermine creativity.
But the satisfaction of an achieved good creation can boost your moral  :)
(Usually Futurama or Scrubs are good medecine too  ;) )

Welcome back Tomato! Buddy I know exactly how you feel. But as long as your creative batteries are charged and you're havin' some fun then that's all thats important. And I have no clue who that is...I have no anime chops at all. :P

the detail on that cape looks insane. I'm looking forward to seeing this one. :)

I know what you actually meant there (IE:Lina's Mantle/Shoulder guards) but before I get attacked by swarms of people... The Cape, Head and Collar(currently... I'm considering meshing my own collar for various reasons) were in fact meshed by Tommyboy.

Bit of an update here for Lina, though not nearly as complete as it seems... Haven't begun highlighting the red areas, I'm probably going to reskin the majority of the face (the eyes are fine, but I used the Female_basic facial structure and it's just not "anime" enough. Plus I want to screw with the yellow-ish area a bit more, make her look a bit more... er... flat

*gets blasted by a dragon slave)

Well, looking at the previous image this is a bigger update then I thought it was... still need to skin all those pesky extras, work on the mesh a bit (I'm meshing a bit around the collar, and I'll probably try doing some more work on the chest to see if I can fix some of the warping)

Oh, and I added that shot of the back because... well... the hair turned out really nice, and I wanted to gloat a bit. (FYI- the Bangs are custom, but the back is Tommyboy's)

Lina Inverse!  Awesome!  I have old meshes for her, Gourry and Amelia!  (Although Amelia's broke after I converted it for 3rd Reich...)  I just started watching Slayers again a few weeks ago because that new Slayers Revolution series is coming out and I wanted to catch up! VERY nice work!  Will we be seeing more?  :)

And one other question...will it be alpha-able for anyone who wants to skin a version of her movie outfit without the skirt? (the one with the yellow shirt and red pants.)

(Nevermind, I just looked at the pics more closely and noticed, no skirt...lol)

EDIT: Also... any plans for a voicepack?  I have the Sega Saturn and PSX versions of Slayers Royal 1 & 2 and Slayers Wonderful.  If I remember correctly...I was able to pull clean versions of the voices and spells in Japanese.... (Sorry, but that's the only way I watch anime, plus the only way they come in the game!)  I could try and give them to whomever wants them...  I'd just have to locate the games in my mess and re-pull everything...

Also again, for anyone who cares...there's a demo of a game called "Magical Battle Arena" that has Lina as a playable demo character and Naga slotted for the final release.

Heh, I actually started her after seeing the first episode of that... need to get the third episode already, forgot to get it this week... erm, anyway, as to your question... Meh, I don't want to commit to anything because I want to have wiggle room as to what I skin next, but my plan is currently to skin at least Gourry. It might not happen for a bit though... I'm moving in just under a month, and I've got some other stuff to finish off first  :banghead:

Yeah, thought of adding a meshed-on skirt, but they're eithor too bulky for lina or clip like mad.

No, seeing it now, the way you did it was perfect without the skirt. I haven't seen any of Revolution yet and I suppose I should go get them before they're not see---uh...available anymore.. :)

Great Work!

I'm really surprised for detailed skin there are so few comments (leads me to believe comments = known characters). I loved Slayers in HS and it is so nice to see someone do something unexpected and different. You put a lot of love into this skin and it really shows Tomato.

Okay, long story short, I'm currently boarding with a lady from my old church(who is quite crazy, fyi) due to the fact that I have college classes starting the second of September. I've got loads of free time at the moment because I've yet to get a job out here, but precious little access to the internet (I'm using a library computer... 45 minutes then you have to get back in line, grah.) So I'm trying to use the time playing around with the meshing tools and learning stuff that had previously been no more then mumbo jumbo to me (y'know, like basic animation techniques ). However, because I don't have that much access (and can't upload/download anything other then pictures) I'll be focusing on pounding out a few new projects you all might enjoy.

As for what I've posted already... KR would be up already if I could upload anything (I was going to release him with another mesh, but I'm putting it on hold) Lina is awaiting a few special animations (might also do some FX later on as well). I mentioned doing Gourry as well, and though he's just about meshed out, but I'm playing with the animation on him so it might be awhile.

I have one more project I'm working on that... well, If it's anything like I intend it to be, it'll trump anything I've ever done before eaisily. I'll keep you posted.

Ah, well we can all understand that.  FYI  If you are planning any Slayers FX and need voice files, I have some for Lina, Naga, and Zel from the Slayers games...clean, just them saying the spells or spell names, no background noise.  I can get everyone else, but I'd have to pull them from the discs.  I figure, it'd be easier to attach something like that to individual spell FX rather than to a voicepack when she'd call out any spell name randomly.  :)  The Dragon Slave, Ragna Blade and Rah Tilt is the Entire spell, but you can just edit it to make it shorter.
