Last night UY finally hit 41! I had been considering taking Fire Mastery for his EPP since it fits so nicely with his concept as an elementalist, but I was a little underwhelmed by the more advanced choices. I'm also underwhelmed by Primal Forces Mastery. Both feature some end mod powers that I really don't need on my end.
UY is an Earth/Storm troller. With that in mind I considered both Stone Mastery and Ice Mastery to be a little redundant concept-wise. Psionic Mastery actually looks pretty cool - I'm very interested in the mezz protection and the smashing/leathal/psi defense. Psi Mastery would be a bit of a conceptual stretch as he is in game, although it would be easy enough to work it in.
In the end, I'm not sure what to take. I'm leaning towards Psi, though. Anyone have any experience with it? Anyone totally in love with something else and willing to state their case?
I say fire for one reason, Fireball.
Stone Cages + Freezing Rain + Fireball = immense damage with containment.
Containment applies?!?!?! Oooooooo . . .
Ephy and I spent about ten solid minutes advising you in Global last night before realizing you'd logged off. ;)
Fire's damage, once slotted, kicks all kinds of arse. The biggest hole in Earth/Storm is the extreme lack of damage, and Fire provides a metric crapton of it. Cages + Fireball will knock off 40% of a white or yellow minion's health.
Psi has a similar, slightly higher-damage attack in Psionic Tornado, but it unlocks at 47, and I imagine you'd like to get going with some damage sooner than later. ;)
So, yeah. Take Fire Mastery. It's just unbelievably awesome.

Sorry about that. I waited around for maybe five mintues then went off to find some dinner! Thanks for the help, though. :D
