Title: Spidey's web shield
Post by: Blitzgott on April 13, 2007, 07:41:34 AM
What does it protect him from?

I know it's useful against piercing damage, since most of the times I saw him using it, it was to protect himself from bullets. Crushing, cold and electric make sense, too.

What about fire, acid, energy and radiation?

Any input is very welcome.

I would certainly say crushing, piercing and cold.  I am not sure about electrical - unless Spidey's webs have been shown to be poor conductors of electricity - I don;t know the character that well.

I can't think of any reason why the shield would be effective at all against Rads, Energy, Fire or Acid.

Spidey has used his webbing as insulation against electricity (namely Electro) many times.  I seem to recall he's used it against Torchie's fireballs, so that at the very least they hit the shield & not him.  I'm sure it would provide even more limited protection from acid.  When I set mine up, I only put it against crushing, electricity, and fire; medium duration & HP; and ranged only, since that's what he ususally uses it for.  To be honest, in-game, I rarely ever use it, as I more frequently use hit & run tactics, and the anim takes too long.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

I left it as giving protection against everything except fire and radiation. It has short duration, though.
