Well, it has begun...

I'm holding off on how I feel about this until the cast is chosen...
Some site was talking about Brad Pitt in the title role.
I don't think they were serious though.
trust me on this guys, untill you see some set shots, believe none of what you hear and half of what you see
I can see it now:
He-man: Triple H
Skeletor: Nicole Ritchie
Orko:Haley Joel Osmont

that comes true i'm hunting you down and shoving a power sword right up your greyskull
They'll probably get some big blond euro-beefcake to play He-man . . . .
Well, it couldn't be any worse than that 80's disaster.
Well as long as they are sure to include Gwildor, it'll be just fine. :P
I believe the bald police chief cocked his shotgun 22 times before he actually fired it. That 80's one may beat out Cap America in bad.
Is there a way to honestly do a live action He-Man and it be... good? If this was a CGI or cartoon project I might be more optimistic but He-man (especially if you were to not seriously alter the source material) just doesn't work out very well in my head.
It is kinda like with a character like say Inspector Gadget or Dudley DooRight, they probably shouldn't have tried it in the first place and just gave up.
I imagine it could be good but that would basically cause you turn He-man into Conan and do away with his very... unmanly so not tough haircut.
And more clothes... almost every single He-man character needs more clothes. Almost every one of them if translated to real life are dressed like strippers. And no leather chest straps do not equal adequate clothing. Eternia must be a very warm land.
True GBT, very true.
Anybody remember this letter?

Aw, nuts. Oh well, maybe they can make a decent movie anyway.
You know what? I would love to see a new He-Man movie. A tongue in cheek sword and socery epic. It could be AWESOME guys. And you know what? The Rock is pretty sweet, honestly. I... I don't know if I want to see him blonde though. But he could totally be somebody else in fuzzy underpants.
But come on, as a Conan parody, He-Man is great.
They should get Christopher Walken to play Skeletor.
If they end up in a budget pinch, I'd suggest pro wrestler Giant Bernard (formerly Albert and A-Train when he was in the WWE) as Beastman, because then they'd save a ton of money by just having him dye his body hair orange and put on a mask and facial prosthetics.
shakes head
your all nuts
also on that note I hear Micheal Jackson is hard up for cash so if you want a villian that really scares children and need to save money on prostetics have him play skeletor.

Ok, all of the suggestions so far (except Christopher Walken...the man is a god with creepy) have had me rolling on the floor laughing, but this one takes the cake. I give this god a five star thumbs up!
id rather see them make a GI JOE live action movie im sure with the possible success of the TF movie mabye GI JOE wont be far behind ....

I've wanted them to do a G.I. Joe movie for years, and there is a rumor swirling around of one possibly being made, but from the description I read, it will most likely suck if it gets made. It was described more or less as a buddy flick with Duke and Action Man (yeah, a character that's not even part of G.I. Joe and that most people have never heard of and don't care about if they have), and wouldn't have Cobra as the bad guys! Any G.I. Joe movie that doesn't have Snake-Eyes in a prominent role and Cobra....or, at the very least, Destro and the Baroness, as the villains will suck.
The problem with a G.I. Joe movie is, they'd have to leave out any actual G.I. Joe logos and have a separate version for international release where all written and spoken references to `G.I. Joe' are replaced with `Action Force'.

dood where do you think action man comes from, action man and gi joe have always been one and the same. just different names for different countrys. the main problem with gi joe is the same with a captain america movie, you'd have to play it right and without coming across with a "we're america we're better than everyone else" vibe
on the subject of MOTU i knwo its kinda hollow coming from me, but if played right and with a level of maturity it could be a hell of a sword and fantasy franchise. the way rumors are looking my view point is harry potter is coming to an end soon and WB are looking for something that can replace it
Just for the record, I would like to see He-man as well. As far as fantasy movies go, unless Uwe Boll got his claws on it, it wouldhave to be better than Eragon.
TUE, I know who Action Man is. I meant that most people in the U.S. except true die-hard fans probably don't know who he is or care. Action Man = the original G.I. Joe guy, Action Force = the G.I. Joe team. Making it a buddy flick focusing mostly on two characters instead of a team is a seriously bad idea.
The ONLY way I think it would work is if they come right out and say that Action Man is the original G.I. Joe (ie, the guy the team is named after) and don't call him Action Man, which is a really lame name to begin with, in the U.S. version.
An appearance by Sgt. Slaughter, though, is a must. Even if he's only in one scene and only gets one or two lines of dialogue.
I love He-Man and She-Ra... they used to be favorites of mine.
and dare I say I LOVED the Master's of the Universe Movie- it was classic.
I am curious about the cast and storyline for this movie... as its been years since anything He-Man has happened.
intensity you do know about the whole toyline relaunch, the new toon, the staues by neca and the dvds of all the classic series being released
yeah... but I meant that He Man isn't really all that visible to the general public... I don't know of any of my students that would recognize him from a crowd of cartoon characters or superheroes...
I think the new action figures and such were created for existing fan (men and women,) not boys and girls.
just my thoughts on it, though.

Yeah, I can agree with that. I think for the most part that He-Man has made a sort of comeback through classic themed t-shirts and buttons I see at Hot Topic stores. Its more of a cult classic nowadays than anything. I only liked Skeletor when I was little. The rest I pretty much disliked totally.

what a norse warrior who just happens to wear a giant metal glove, about as daft as many of the other things people want transfered from comic to screen. i'm not a over rabid fan that demands everything should make the transfer i'm not stupid, some would need a lot of major redesign and some have no place making the transfer.
your going to tell me that given a decent script with a good story and a studio like weta or stan winston doing the effects this film couldnt work, i mean your main films this year when you think about are about a drunk pirate, a emo geek in tights, or a semi truck with changes into a 40 foot robot.
on the subject of the characters being unknown yes they are no way as popular as they were, but when the relaunch first appeared it sold like crazy and the new toon had great rating mostly from kids. sadly it was never advertised and stuck in timeslots like 5 am, and the toys were never able to be found, which is why it failed.
i feel that maybe if they produce a solid film in the vein of harry potter ie mature enough for adults to enjoy but not so mature that kids cant get into it. and it could work.
but maybe your all right and i'm the one who's in the worng. i just feel that with the current cinema it could work :)
hahaha Fisto!
i'm thinking YL brought this up as a joke about his name in relation to you talking about maturity. jeez, now i cant stp thinking about the CKY video of skeletor and beastman!
