Title: something odd...
Post by: Podmark on May 28, 2007, 04:29:13 PM
Isn't it supposed to be impossible to convert skoped meshes? I just converted both of the Surge meshes I had up on my site, both of which were skoped to some degree. Can anyone explain what happened?

Why would it be impossible?
Its not.
A skoped FF mesh is in essence like any other FF mesh, and thus convertable.
What you CAN'T do is skope converted pieces to an unconverted mesh, or unconverted pieces to a converted mesh (different nif versions).

Hmm good point, Tommy. That seems to explain things.

Sometimes nifconverter crashes when converting a skoped mesh. I've had that happen to me before. But for the most part it converts both skoped and non-skoped meshes fine.

I frequently have problems converting Skoped meshes, especially if I've removed pieces from the mesh.

I had this problem back when I did my Creeper skope. So I converted the meshes seperately, then redid it, using the same information from the original skope. I didn't have that many pieces so it didn't take terribly long.

But back then somebody had said that you aren't able to convert things after skoping, so... If that's changed or they were just mistaken, I don't know, but I always convert first now.
