Title: Custom Villain Problem in Mini-Mods
Post by: Golden Goose on May 30, 2007, 07:04:46 PM
So I'm trying my hand at EZScript now.  I've created some heroes in the game, ran them through the FFX Control Center, and then used the new hero to dat converter (what a useful tool!) so that I could they could be used as allies.

I did the same to create some villains.  However, when I ran my mini-mod, the heroes wouldn't attack the villains that I made.  I can't even get the heroes to target those villains.  Built-in villains can be targeted, but not the ones I made.  Allies, however, will engage the villains.  Is there some line I need to add in the script text file, or did I neglect to do something to the custom villains in FFX Control Center or FFEdit?

Thanks.

You probably need to go into FFEdit and set their character info and/or template (can't remember which off the top of my head) to be villain.

cat's right.  You need to set their class to GAME_OBJ_VILLAIN in the templates tab of ffedit.

Thanks for the help.  I hadn't known that.  I'll add that step to my list of steps for getting characters correctly into dats.  So many tools to make content, I just can't keep all of instructions in my head anymore. :D
