Most of the tutorials i see in skinning involves a skin base. I was wondering, how do you make a skin when you have only a wire frame or wire map to begin with?
You download a skin base that matches a wireframe from the FFbaseskins1 yahoo group.
If you only have a wireframe then you either have to adapt a baseskin to fit the wiremap, with a lot of cutting and pasting. Or you make a new base skin (only for experience skinners)

Thanks for replying Lunarman. A lot of cutting and pasting eh,will try that. Maybe some of the experienced skinners here would like to give some tips or tutorials...on making a new base skin? Well, will try and experiment more for the meantime. :P

Well, the idea first came to me when i read in some threads here, that a few people are requesting the wiremaps of certain meshes/skins/skopes as an alternative, when the mesh/skin/skope they wanted couldn't be released by the one who made them.
Also, while i was attempting to skin an alchemiss_straighthair_nocape mesh/sailorvenus and a female_amazon mesh, I was a bit confused with the way the skins were displayed. It was kinda jumbled  and unlike most skins i'm familiar with, like C6 base skins,Gryphon's base skins. So I was probably trying to find an easier way of understanding how to skin these types of meshes. Anyways, i'll try to review the available tutorials here. Then maybe just start with something more simple instead. :P
