Title: Pushing Dasies=Pushing Awesome?
Post by: BentonGrey on October 11, 2007, 11:33:52 AM
We've been watching this, somewhat guardedly, at stately Grey Manor.  Is anyone else catching this?  If not, you definitely should try and make time for it.  The wife and I were both pretty dubious when we started watching, but it's just great, light, clean fun.  The characters are like-able, the plots are hilariously odd and wacky, and the whole tone is just so delightfully fairy-tale-ish....well...it's hard to describe, but it turns out well.

I haven't seen it yet, but heard a review of the show along with an outtake from the opener.  It sounds extremely cool and original (in particular).  I can't wait to catch an episode of it.

Yeah, I was pretty guarded when it came to this show, but after a little encouraging (and pratically being forced by my girlfirend, let's not forget that), I sat down and watched it last night. And I gotta tell youalls- you need to watch this thing. It's pretty dang good, and really light, compared to many other shows on right now.

Yeah, I think that's one of the things that my wife and I like about it Hitman, it's just good and light, without deconstructing itself constantly.

This is gonna sound crazy, but... I though it kinda had a "Dr. Seusse" vibe, but without all the rhyming. But it might've been that weird car from last night's episode.

Yeah, it is somewhat fairy-tale-ish, like I said, but without being campy in a bad way.

Someone emailed me about it last Wednesday and I've been enjoying it the last couple weeks. It has an interesting premise and some pretty smart dialog. Plus, now millions more people know what "mastication" means.  :D

Yes! This is my favorite new show of the season.  It's very Burton-esque.  Its just so whimisical and charming and romantic.

The writing and acting are top notch, though Chi McBride's Emerson stands out.

I'd describe it as CSI: Fairytaleland, myself.  I hope it continues to get good ratings- usually anything I love this much gets canceled quickly.

You really need to be watching this. Last night's episode was, quite literally, as close to a perfect hour as I have EVER spent with a television.

By FAR the best new show, it's a real treat.  ALL of the actors are exceptional, I find myself rewinding a few times per episode to watch funny bits again (Like Chuck's reaction as Emerson is 'scooching' her out of the booth to leave or Emerson's reaction as they realize the coffin shut and locked).  The narrator, the music, the Burton-esque feel, it's just awesome.

I spent this afternoon watching episodes on line - good quirky fun!!  Although, I have to say that they need to bring Olive into the fold soon or get rid of her - I can see her plot line getting old reeeal fast!

This show is fan-freaking-tastic! I absolutely love the interplay between Emerson Cod and Ned (and anyone else, basically). "Now you're covered in word vomit." (http://home.graffiti.net/stumpyanker:graffiti.net/emoticons/laugh.gif)

Also, watching the last episode, I was (appropriately enough) experiencing a little deja vu as the view of the snow-covered street from the sick kid's room was the same (yes, pretty much the exact same) one as Bill Murray sees when he looks out of his window at the end of Grounhog Day. Down to the same tracks in the snow and the same car parked in same spot of a driveway down the street. I was waiting for the radio to kick on with "I've got you, babe" and then the DJs starting their "Rise and shine campers... That's right, woodchuck chuckers, it's Groundhog Day!"

Between this and "Needlenose" Ned Reyerson appearing in this season's Heroes, I am in Groundhog Day heaven.  :D

Wow, I thinks that's a reference only a true GHD fanatic would catch - but it's evidence for the depth and wit of this show!

I love this show.  The bright colors and the way the narrator rhymes when he talks.  Too Cool
