Title: Work in Progress
Post by: daglob on January 22, 2008, 07:46:15 PM
Awhile back, there was a discussion on the Requests thread about putting The Hulk on Texas Jack's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde mesh. For fun I changed Jekyll's coat to white like a lab coat, and dropped a Male Hulking version of The Hulk in there with it, and, WOW!. I said that if no one else did it, I'd do skins for Dr. Banner and his emerald alter-ego to use with that mesh. Well, I didn't really forget, I just got sidetracked. Now. I'm working on another Hulk-related project, and decided I'd finish this at more or less the same time.
Anyway, the pants still need work, the face could use some touching up, but this a a pretty good start.

i'm a big hulk fan.old look or new ...i'm a hulker!i got alot of hulk skins and put them on the regular male_hulking mesh then gave it the male_heavy ironclad or mhv juggernaut keyframes for those cool punching moves and still have all the other classic hulk moves.i'm a stickler when it comes to characters being the right size compared to the other characters.

Looking good so far.
Can't wait to have a good Banner/Hulk combo for that mesh.
:D

I'm using the Hyde/Hulk skin and the recently posted Jimmy Olsen DNAlien skin to work out some things on a Kirby-inlfuenced Hulk. Hopefully, I'll get them both done this weekend.

Comments, criticism, condolences? Anything I ought to change?

So, what do I do with them when they are finished?

Wouldn't it look weird if in game, hulk rests and he turns to bruce but with still a coat, wouldn't it be torn of?

Actually, It's a mesh wherein in the idle animation, he's human and when it fights, well it's brutal.

Thank you. I do appreciate the praise.

If no one thinks there is anything that needs changing, it's ready for release.

I don't really want to put it on Character Obscura; I've stretched the point of th group quite a bit on some things already. Anybody got a suggestion? Otherwise, I will post it there so that anyone who wants it can get it.

Still, are you sure that the pants aren't too bright?

Love the bright pants!  i can't wait for the release!
hmmn,  Hulks Toes look a bit off though,  thats the only criticism i got.  i can't wait ot get this and the new Kirby Hulk!!

would you be interested in a torn shirt version? if you  hex off the jacket, and then give him a torn shirt in both skins, i think that would look cool too.

Turns out the jacket file had an alpha channel, so all I had to do was "turn it off". So, you can put both versions in the same skins directory and use the wsame mesh as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

The Banner mesh actually has "pants", so I can't tatter th bottoms of them. I've straightened the toes on both this and the original versions.

Anything else?

That looks very, very slick ... nice work!

Totally unrelated question, but has anyone tried doing the same thing for the Marvel Mr Hyde?

I love the work you've done on this skin but it would have been nice to see a different face for Banner than the C6's standard. I love the way you skinned the glasses, really well done.

That was the intention. I didn't use just a photo pasted, I used it as reference, though. Now I need to change the portrait files...

Here are some other odds and ends in various stages of development.

We start with Nightman on a TV mesh, then there are two members of The Galaxy Trio, Fatman, and the barest beginnings of The Fly on a TV mesh with the Yellowjacket wings visible. Behind the group is a rough Barbara Eden skin for Green Genie, and Fatman's Flying Saucer form.

Night man and the male member of th Galaxy Trio are good. Well, all of them are good really, but I didn't like Bouncing Boy so I wouldn't like Fatman. I think the Barbara Eden face need work but other than that, great job!

Post by: UnkoMan on May 21, 2008, 12:11:58 AM
Fatman is coming along. I see you did a bit of highlighting on him. It might look a bit nicer if you smooth it out a touch. The hair could also use a shadow underneath. His UFO form looks nice.

I like your Bruce Banner face. You should do more original faces like that. Much better than people having the same C6 base expressions. You're at that level now.

The female there lacks depth, especially in the lower body. While it can be used to effect sometimes, here I don't think it works so well.

Can't wait to see the finished fly, though.

I'm afraid that that particular version of The Fly will never be finished; it was incorporated into another mesh. Everything else but Nightman and Jeannie have been released.

Here are a couple of shots, both the same character, with costumes five issues apart.

Neither one is quite finished. Hopeully by the middle of next week. And I'll try to throw in Captain 3-D.

Here are Twilight Avenger and Ultra-The Multi Alien.

The Avenger is nearly finished. I'm still stuck on Ultra: he only needs half a head of hair, and I'd like his right foot to be more bird-like.

Two more characters. The one on the left hand side of the screen is almost finished, the one on the right needs a little work.

Do you know, I could have sworn I made a ringmaster, or the skin at least.
But a search reveals the closest I came was sticking someone else's skin on my wizard_dc_t mesh.
I need one with stars on his coat, demmit!
Yours looks good. Not sure about those boots, but they are probably the closest fit from the _tv range. Other than that minor niggle, he's pretty much what I had in mind. Ideally, his swirly hat thingy would either rotate or use mapping to look like it did.
If you cannot get that to happen, I may yet mesh the old reprobate myself.

Sqinky-eyed sailor is coming along. Having problems with shadow on his arms ha might be a fetur of the mesh.

I think I'm going to have to give up on using the cape s a collar; I just can't seem to get it lined up. Still, not too bad.

Hey! I just realized: one of Johny Patches new Male Heavy meshes might make a good Bluto!

Now, how do I go about making Betty Boop?

Popeye's face looks fantastic. Great job, daglob.

You're going to have to scale a character's head to get Betty Boop, but I really have no idea how to do that personally. :(
Are there any characters with a box-shaped head? Like Awesome Android? Was that ever created?

I have two version of The Awsome Android; one with a box-shapped head, one with a wedge shapped head. I wonder about making the neck bip "0" or something...
