Title: His name is Remo, and he's at Character Obscura
Post by: daglob on February 04, 2008, 01:53:39 PM
Long-running star of a series of novels, inspiration for a motion picture and two comic book series, we present Remo Williams, The Destroyer.

So, pop a cassette of 1980s soap operas into your VCR, and head over to Character Obscura and download your own copy of this martial arts master.

I was convinced until i was about 10 that you could walk on wet cement if you imagined yourself being really light thanks to Remo - Never thought about having him on the FF roster but now that i have him i'm wondering how i ever went without - Thanks

I just put Tommy's Martial Artist keyframes on him. And I'm afraid I couldn't find a mesh with appropriately thick wrists.

I have been trying to figure out which mesh to put Chuin on for some time... maybe Tom Versatile? It has the sleeves and the skirt.

Remo Williams?!?  I was actually an extra in that movie!  Never did get any royalties.  Alas, it keeps me within 2 degrees of Kevin Bacon (was in a movie w/ Fred Ward who co-starred w/ Sir Bacon in Tremors!).

Hey, me too. I was in "Diary of a Hitman" co-starring Sharon Stone who was in "He Said, She Said" with Sir Bacon.

Remo Williams, on the other hand is said to have wrists measuring over 14 inches in circumfrence. I only go 8.5" myself.

My high school history teacher was an extra in "Goldfinger." He was one of the people who fell down when Miss Galore gassed Fort Knox. I can't tell you how cool I thought that was. Apparently I can't write the first name of a famous fictional character from half a century ago here because of a puritanical censorship computer.

"Close Encounters of the Third Kind" was filmed here in Mobile (the "other side of the moon" set was in one of the giant aircraft hangars at the old airfield). I constantly run into people who were extras in the movie, plus it's fun to identify where in the city something was shot. Used to be a lot of movies shot around here, CE3K, Under Siege, Soultaker, Stone Cold (hilarious motorcycle chase if you are a native; shooting on two different streets, having to jump the Mobile River to get one shot, teleporting miles and miles between shots), one of the Friday the 13th movies (ex-wife has a picture of Jason giving her a hug).

FRICKIN' SWEET!  What scene?

It was a scene of the big baddy, Mr. Grove, giving an oversized check to a Boy Scout troop, as viewed on a computer monitor by Wilford Brimley.  Don't blink, though, it lasts all of 1.7 seconds.  I'm the blurry spot next to the American flag.  Probably my best acting job to date!
