Title: boot jets

i'd like to see the boot jet fx on tommy's ultimate ironman.love the boot jets!

If I understand things correctly, the character has to be a built-in (via FFEdit, usually) to have any kind of foot FX while flying (El Diablo, Manbot, etc).  The only way I could imagine getting around it would be to include some kind of particle emitters in the mesh itself, but only active during flying or hovering animations.  Perhaps some brilliant & skilled mesher knows how to do that nowadays.

OR....maybe some skoper (I'm not naming names) :rolleyes: could conceivably do a little work on it when he gets home and post something later here tonight. Maybe? :P ;)

Just a reminder to whoever that skoper is.....most of tommy's meshes has thousands of nodes, it maybe hard to find them one by one. :mellow:

In FF1 , I tried giving custom fx in flying animations, there is text for the init.py that lets you view details on the characters by pressing(M?)including the template.
Like when I spawn(text for the init.py is needed for this this as well)a character in Great Hunt mission 1, it's template is (custom_character_##?) then I do the rest in FFEDIT using the template.

as explained, to add fx to feet, the character needs to be built in. Custom templates change whenever they're spawned and never remain the same. That particular setup has been expanded upon quite a few times and the thread is still in the fx forums. Perhaps it's time it's moved over to the wiki, eh?

Yep, I knew that, but wont they remain the same if I click "Save Game"?

Gren's Iron Man MK21 is exactly what I used. I left the back piece on and added the jet nozzles from Tommy's Iron Man MK5 tf mesh and...fin. I think he's pretty sexy and it wasn't hard to skope...oh and he's available on my yahoo group...NOW! :)
