Title: custom character help
Post by: tk on April 11, 2008, 07:46:16 AM
Can anyone tell me why a character would look like this?  http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc254/tylerkenny/4.jpg (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc254/tylerkenny/4.jpg)  I have several characters this keeps happening to.

the mesh probably is missing a standard skin/folder, the tgas may need converting, or some other graphic related issue.

What would I convert the tgas to and how would I do it?

Conver the tgas to .dds's using a free program called DDS Converter 2.  Just Google it.

or just check your help files since IG links directly to a good dds/tga converter in said help files (assuming you have ffedit installed since the help docs came with that)

I am thinking that happens when the skin is missing its refl_TGA files.

lightmap.tga also causes the problem. Depends on if the standard folder has the said files as well. How about you post a list of skins that have problem so people can better help ya?

Here's where I put mods that need fixing.  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tkgroupmembers (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tkgroupmembers)

K, so I figured it out myself.  The problem was in the nif.  The texture paths there didn't match up with the file names of the skins.
