I understand the bit with magenta, but I converted PV_Doc Brass to FFv3R, and now his belt is turquose. Any idea what went wrong?
You got a screenshot?
That sounds bizarre...
Here's one:

And here is a new problem: I have two meshes that, when they converted, will only show up as magenta. Now, before when I had this problem, reading another skin in the skins folder seemed to clear it up, but now:

The two meshes are Male Muscular Cape Folded Collar, and Male Muscular Cape Folded Collar Boots. You can barely see the reflections on these two images (they temporarily both have a Captain Marvel skin). I didn't put both on here, becasue, except for the bootcuffs, they look exactly the same.
Oh, and I dropped the Cap skin into Male Muscular Cape, and it seems to be okay.
That turquoise belt is a strange one! Only thing I can suggest is to double-check that all the files (refl, glow, lightmap) are in the right place.
You might also try reconverting the mesh without brightening the lighting values. Perhaps there is something unusual about the lighting in the original mesh that is not playing well with the converter.

The turquoise belt might be due to some wierd material lighting values in nifskope, or an over-reflective reflection skin. So have a look in nifskope first.

This worked for the turquose effect. Thank you.
Now to work on the magenta problem.
The magenta effect is gone.
JKCarrier suggested that I check out the glow and reflection files, which I did, and could see nothing wrong with them. Well, I had another mesh awhile back that had a different effect, and changing the sizes of the glow and reflective files fixed that (they were 0.8-something or other; tiny little things). So I opened up all the skin files in Photoshop, resized the glow (which was black) and for no particular reason I saved them all as themselves.
This worked.
I copied the saved skin files to the other mesh's Standard folder, and that fixed it to.
I offer no explanation, just state fact.
Thanks to all who offered advice.
