Title: Mac & Windows problem
Post by: Panther_Gunn on August 07, 2008, 09:05:57 AM
Heres one for those of you that are Mac savvy when it comes to them being on a Windows network.

I have a couple users that use Macs, and on one of the network drives, they occasionally have problems with being unable to delete random files, telling them that the file is in use.  The thing is, no one else is using the files, and from a regular PC, the files can be deleted normally.  I did a Google search, and found one person that had the exact same problem, posted at another message board.  Only he didn't get any replies at all.  ;)  Any of you smart peoples out there have any ideas?

I really don't have much of a clue (been using mixed networks for years and never heard of the issue). However are all the files in the folder locked? If it's the case, is the folder name longer than ~ 27 characters? Otherwise, when you do a get info (command-i) on the file, is there anything suspicious?
