Title: Pieces showing Pink
Post by: AfghanAnt on September 20, 2008, 03:30:47 PM
I'm not sure why but some pieces are showing up pink even though I have 3GB of ram. Is there no fix for this? BTW all the correct files are in fact in the correct folders.

.tgas don't fully work in FFvTTR and while lack of memory is usually blamed for it, that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with your actual computer memory.  Converting to .dds should fix the problem, but a lot of folks don't like that option.

Now if you are using .dds, we have a different issue.

I'm using .tgas. Damn. I guess I need to convert all my skins. Urgh...

Quick question why do some skins that use tgas show up perfectly?

It seems to depend on the number of indiviual little pieces that are skinned.  Meshes with a lot of them, get parts pink.

I think it was ips who suggested leaving the main skin as a TGA, and just converting the accessories to DDS. That way the ugly compressed DDS textures are less noticeable.

That probably would work.

Ah good idea.
