i'm trying to put together supermen hero files.  starting with superman.  any suggestions or advice?  i even would like to hear the odd powers he's developed over the years, like super hypnotism.  i'm making him for  :ffvstr:.  after that, i'm going down the list of clones.  captain marvel, then prime.

Based on your thread title, I suppose that Superman developed weather control powers as well.

that was during his blue period.
didn't you know, it's raining supermen?

In a couple of golden age stories, Superman could change his appearance by molding the muscles of his face.

In the silver age, Superman could project his voice over any distance (even underwater or in outer space) with "Super-Ventriloquism".

Then there was one strange story where an explosion caused Superman to lose all his regular powers -- but gave him the ability to summon a miniature duplicate of himself, which would then fly off and fight crime for him. The duplicate eventually sacrificed itself to save Superman from a Kryptonite metoer, and Superman's powers returned.

Hey can pull big cellophane nets off his chest emblem and use them to take out other kryptonians too - but if you put that in your hero file we may have to hunt you down and kill you....

You don't even want to know my initial reaction to "Rain of Supermen".

Well, Superman has had the ability of Super Mathematics, Super Kisses, Super Weaving (like baskets or quilts), Super Hypnosis, Super Landscaping (seriously), Super Hunching (like super guessing?), and Super Friction (run with that joke at will).

You can see all these powers in action at THIS SITE.

didn't he have cape stretching powers at some point?  how could that be done?  and what's it good for?

Blitzgott

LOL!

That site is great.

Golden age Superman had such a big amount of silly powers. It'd be fun to make a Superman without any of his mainstream powers and with only those obscure powers.

Super kisses could be like Eve's nature kiss (cause hypnosis). It'd be even cooler if it caused hypnosis in female characters and rage on male characters. =O

Super mathematics could be an area attack that causes blank (he says some pretty hard math questions that confuse everybody or leave them trying to figure out the answers).

And the cellophane net he pulls of his chest would, obviously, cause stasis.

Yup, he could stretch his indestructable cape out to any size. I guess he could either wrap up enemies with it (stasis) or use it to protect someone (like putting a force field around them?).

You know, with a bit of state-swap coding, that is quite doable.

Heh.  I did the FX for that YEARS ago.   Probably still available at the Freedom Flat, too.

Y'know, Neither Captain Marvel nor Prime are clones of Superman.  Are they similar?  Perhaps.  But then again, so are the Hulk and Thor.

And then there's Captain Mar-vell, who's a strange visitor from another planet who came to earth with powers and abilities beyond those of mortal men.

But it's Billy Batson who's called a clone because he's got dark hair and no mask.

It's all about Gary Concord, the Ultra Man. Wow.
