Thanks Revenant

Question for you guys. Has anyone on this board taken a stab at doing a Timm Styled Solomon Grundy?

Protomorph

Grundy was mentioned earlier in this thread, but is unclear if this is something that will materialize.

Since a Timmverse Solomon Grundy mesh would be so similar to the existing Male_Hulking_Brute mesh by Grenadier, Volsung wasn't inclined to make him yet.  A skin and hex on that mesh though, would be a nice project for the down time...

You have down time?

No but it would be nice!

Actually, Volsung said he's going to focus on animating some meshes now ("don't send me any more skins!")  so I can do other stuff for now!

Except for the 4 last characters we have in progress Rev!
Before animation and release wel have to work on their weaponry too!(especially on Eclipso, Joker and Harley)

Revenant

hehe..  ^_^
I'm ready to arm the supervillains..

QuoteI've been quite busy last weeks because of a big job attempt in another country...that I failed.
Revenant skins feeled lonely.
And now I'll continue monitoring animations from Ackbar and Oldelbastos but i've got to stop FFVTTR stuff for some weeks...at best to the 24 of june, at worst to the 8 of july ...Some priorities take me away...
^^

Ackbar is still on the joker, but his productivity sinked in the abyss ^^;
Oldelbastos is working on the 'Manhunters' but he got issues with his computer  <_<

Jakew

I have no skills, but I wonder if any of the creative types on these boards can give you a hand animating the characters? Surely dividing all of them between big group of people would mean you can release them quicker, etc?

Revenant

Just checking up!  I miss the Timmverse...  ^_^

Manfred

Volsung,

I just checked out your web site and there is some really incredible work there!  Your Morrowind stuff makes me want to play again, but I've been clearing all that stuff off my hard drive to make room for FF!  Can't wait for you to release the latest stuff!

Volsung

I'm literally boiling up!
I want to go back to work! I'll be able to next monday.I'll be free of most of my burdens!

Oldelbastos did almost nothing due to computer issues, He still owes me two weeks of his life!
And Ackbar is still working on the joker...his productivity is almost negative...
That demotivation was expectable, due to my temporary withdrawal.
We'll reexamine our goals to release the models as quickly and as spiffy as possible!

"Insert a frenzied howling there"

Revenant

cool!  I will be moving into my new place then.

detourne_me

Volsung,  are you sick? i hope you get well soon.

i know the timmverse project is quite ambitious,   i hope your friends can find some motivation.  joker alone looks great.  and even if the timmverse meshes are released with modified irrational keyframes, thats still a pretty big treat for us all.

Volsung

Don't worry detourne_me , my only disease is frustration^^
I'll be back on Timmverse FFVTTR tomorrow^^

Volsung

Just to clarify the situation.
The timmverse project is a little in jeopardy these days.
Rev moved, and he's not 'online' as often as he used to.
My colleague Ackbar is overworked at the office (more than I am^^), and lacks of spare time (so do I^^).
(He's now assigned on 'rigging' models on bipeds)
Finally , Oldelbastos didn't work on his part.(That old b*st*rd owes me two weeks^^)

As usual, I scatter on several projects. The fallout is obvious: None of them progress effectively!

I remember of a Guyver, that I released YEARS, after the mesh and texture were finished...
Liberty bay got uncompleted Hawk and Coppertop.
There's an unfinished 'Lord volsung' for Unko to skin.
I 've got even a recent mesh for Ips with the same fate.
Without taking into account my commitment in project out of freedom force.Other people are waiting for my files too.
Getting organized is a gift^^

But, Ackbar will be freed soon and we 'll be able to release the models with standart animation, one by one.
I apologize...

That's stupid to tease players with models that you can't release reasonably...

Manfred

Puleeeez!

Things of this caliber quality are worth waiting on!

Take care yo bi-ness, fellas.  We can be patient.

style

Yep we can wait. Some of us was here when we had to wait on Big B's Dr. Octopus mesh. Which is ground breaking stuff that changed meshing to what it is now! I think that's what these meshes will be also!

Arlecchino

Vol,

At this point those of us still here and playing the game are HERE to stay. You wont have to worry that while waiting for your great work we will suddenly go away from the game. Great things take time.

Jakew

Vol, I'm sure there are plenty of people on the boards who can give you a hand with keyframe sets for the characters if you need it.

Revenant

I wish I could help animate!  Maybe I'll take some 3D design classes in the future.  The Art Institute of Philadelphia has some good offerings, I hear.

style

Revenant

Yeah I live in Philly now, I'm originally from New York!

Jakew

"there's probably only about 2-3 people on the board left capable of helping him... animating is the most difficult and time consuming part of the process."

I was actually thinking more along the lines of cobbling together animations from existing keyframes, or skoping keyframes, rather than creating a whole series of brand new ones. I know nothing about animation, but I realise that expecting all of those Timm meshes that Rev & Vol showcased to have original animations is unrealistic and way too time-consuming (aside from Joker  :D )

Don't! If you'd do!You'd be unstoppable!

Volsung

Maybe i've gained some lucidity after all!
Ambition does not rhyme with feasibility.

I've simply cancelled a 3d game project (not linked to freedom force) that I had with some colleagues.Too much ambitious, it had not any chance of completion by working out of the office for months...

So here I am, with all those Timmverse models that Ackbar can't animate and even rig due to his lack of spare time.
At least, for now.

I got the knowledge to do it myself, but i'm a lost cause.
I can do some great things during the first spark of passion but it's harder for me to focus if my task last too long.
I keep frisking from project to project.

Anyway my partnership with Rev and Courtnall6 proved me that we could have a high productivity by dividing our work between members of the community.
Ackbar is uberskilled! But I can't ask him so much only in the name of friendship.
He's not familiar with the timmverse and freedom force.

I'm ticklish with my source files^^ But those timmverse models are useless in a safe.
Our community got skilled meshers, skinners and animators.
But where can I find a partner that would be ready to rig the models on a biped and export them with standard animation?
(Yup, I could have asked this question right from the beginning!)
