I know we've got a bunch of people in the other thread complaining about February, but I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Valentine's day nonetheless!

Spread the love.

  HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Now if I actually could actually enjoy myself.. but I'm sick today..  :faint
How much does it suck to have a holiday of kissing and snuggling but my wife doesn't want me to be near her for fear of catching my bug?

Uncle Yuan

Ya know, if she really loved you . . .

Sorry you're feeling low, CQ.

As comedians have noted over the years, this is an occassion whose name doesn't really work well as initials.   (Shades of Superman's comment regarding the old All-Star Squadron...)

Glitch Girl

Personally, I prefer February 15th.

Chocolate goes on sale.

Happy Valentine's Day anyway.

Cardmaster

Single and lovin' it. That is all. ^_^

V-Day is probably just about the worst of all the made up holidays.

There is nothing good about it IMO.

Are there any holidays that aren't made-up?  :P

Though, I agree with the sentiment. The sad thing is that I like coming up with a fun and romantic date ideas and making them real. I don't even care about the florists charging twenty bucks per rose on Valentine's Day; they'd be stupid not to and it's the buyers' fault for falling back on such a predictable device instead of being creative.

My issue is that I feel like a tool for participating in a day when it's so socially obligatory and expected. It's almost one of those things where if no one was doing it, I would think it's cool, but since everyone is doing it, it's hacked. It becomes a sign of idiocy, like keeping up with fashion trends.

I've even dated women who say they really wouldn't care much about the day except that they have to listen to other women gush over what they did they next day. Then, if they didn't do anything "special", they have to endure that look where the other woman is thinking, "Sorry, honey. Too bad he doesn't like you enough to give you something to impress us with." Pfeh!

Happy Post-Valentines Day sale chocolate! :P

And Valentines Day...BAH! HUMBUG!

*insert commercialization and general uselessness of holiday rant here.

Of course, the best present is money. I mean, they get to choose something they really want rather than have to fake excitement.

I still don't know what they get so upset about. Really

Reepicheep

Theres only ever been one year I've actually remembered to do something for valentine's day.

Aaaaand its gone again.

Well love was in the air atleast hehe... aslong as someone enjoys it that is the main thing. I think it would be interesting if we manage to necropost this thread in a years time... we will see... we will see..

gdaybloke

Indeedly. If you were single on the day, good for you. If you were in a relationship on the day, good for you too.

One way or another, let the romantic saps amongst us enjoy ourselves, hrm? Gdaysheila and I had a "date night" watching PotC: Dead Man's Chest while eating Toblerone.

Nymph

I hate.....not having someone on V-Day!!!

but for those of you who are/were all   I am  for you! :P

Dweomer Knight

I'm single but for those of you who aren't, I hope you had an enjoyable time on Valentine's Day!

Reepicheep

Sorry, Nymph, but we all know that my love is reserved for TUE.

I just realised something - I've never been involved on a valentines day. Usually two or three days after or before I'm in a relationship, but never on the actual day itself.

...I'm not sure if to be elated or depressed. On the one hand, no date. On the other, no spending money on chocolates or flowers or any of the stuff you're expected to do.  Though then again, I probably wouldn't bother, as I hardly ever do something I'm expected to do

Valandar

Not only did I have a wonderful Valentine's day, my GF even bought me a Transformer (Classics Cliffjumper "because he was red") :D

Lucky me!
