Wanted: Avatar

I do not draw very well, so I wondered:

Would someone point me in the direction of a place to go to design an avatar*.  My posts seem kind of naked without one.  And believe me, you don't want me to be naked.  :lol:

*Maybe a program to download or just any suggestions on where to start...I would like to do it myself first, rather than request one be done for me.

Do you want an avatar just for the picture by your name, or do you want an avatar that you could play in FF as well?  Because even though Hero Machine is a great place to get started, inspiration and even help from fellow community members can be invaluable.
