First off, thanks to everyone involved with the project. Great job on breathing new life into the game!

Now, for the wierdness: after installing FFX 3.2, I tested it with Human Ton's Night City with Park map conversion and the loading screen froze. No errors in the script log but a few warnings that I don't get with any other map and that shouldn't affect the game.

FFX works great and I've had no other problems so I think it's probably something in the map conversion that's to blame. Has anyone else had this happen?

HumanTon

Hmmm, not sure what the problem is. I doubt it's FFX, though. I just tried running Night City with Park with FFX 3.2 final, and it runs fine for me.

Couple of tips:
-Night City with Park is a big map with lots of objects and characters, so it's a resource hog. If you've already been playing for a couple of hours, there's a chance there might not be enough free RAM to load the map. Try exiting FFVTR, restarting your computer and try again.
-Try cleaning out your temp folder. It's located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs the 3rd Reich\temp

You can delete all the files inside your temp folder (but not the folder itself.) That sometimes fixes things.

And a couple of questions for you:

-Are you using "Battle in the Rumble Room" or some other mode?
-Have you recently (i.e. since the last time you ran Night City with Park successfully) installed any maps that use custom objects, or merged .DAT folders with mods other than FFX?

Thanks for the quick response HT. Here's some info on the problem:

1) I've had no problem with any map prior to installing FFX 3.2

2) I empty the temp folder regularly

3) I was using a few of the instant action modes (Robots, Thugs, etc.) when the problem occured

4) Since all my characters are built-ins, I merged all the relevant DATs.

FFX works fine otherwise. The script.log bit is as follows:

QuoteCampaign_MakeHeroIndex: Making index <e:\games\freedom force vs the 3rd reich\ffx32_dc\HeroIndexData.txt>
Campaign_MakeHeroIndex: Complex not set for ffx_green_tank. Run datfiles.Campaign_SetMissingComplexAttribs()
Campaign_MakeHeroIndex: Complex not set for kid. Run datfiles.Campaign_SetMissingComplexAttribs()
Campaign_MakeHeroIndex: Complex not set for ffq_civilian_disguise. Run datfiles.Campaign_SetMissingComplexAttribs()
Campaign_MakeHeroIndex: Complex not set for cow. Run datfiles.Campaign_SetMissingComplexAttribs()
Campaign_MakeHeroIndex: Complex not set for berlin_male. Run datfiles.Campaign_SetMissingComplexAttribs()
Campaign_MakeHeroIndex warning: <sky2> likely missing entry in objects.dat; skipping.
Campaign_MakeHeroIndex warning: <raven_soulself> likely missing entry in objects.dat; skipping.
Campaign_MakeHeroIndex: Complex not set for ffq_civilian_tiggot. Run datfiles.Campaign_SetMissingComplexAttribs()

I only get this when running this map (and I believe a few others but I'm still trying to figure this out).

Do you have any ideas?

[EDIT]

Duh, it was right in front of me. Problem solved.

HumanTon

 So was the solution to run the FFX Control Center?

apfarmakis

Nope. I forgot to run the utility to set the complex attributes in my built-ins. Colour me stupid.
