Why is everyone talking about Civil War when....

Annihilation is ten times better. By far the best Marvel Event I've read in a long long time. It used alot of characters I didn't even know existed and did a sort of clearing house of alot of cosmic characters.
How long do you think Thanos will stay dead this time? Also how long till Annhilius becomes full grown again? Since we know kid characters age faster than adult characters in comic book time lol (Example: Dick Grayson went from young teen to mid twenties and Bruce went from mid twenties to late twenties early thirties). They killed Qusar, I was shocked but it was handled better than the Cap death or anything in Civil War.
Also after reading the event I remember why Galactus is such a feared power.
Now I'm beginning to think Galactus let the FF win and decided to let Earth survive. Anybody read that Last Story of Galactus by John Byrne? What is it about Earth that makes it so special lol.
Heck the series convinced me to like Nova whom I always considered a joke character.
Glad they killed the Nova Corps, they seemed too much like a Green Lantern Corps rip off. Plus those uniforms are butt ugly. The new Nova Univorm is an improvement. Either way Nova is now a bad arse and after reading this I feel like picking up his ongoing series. Ronan is now the head of the Kree Empire and Super Skrull is no longer a shmuck. I didn't think it was possible to make Super Skrull a likable character but it was done. Ronan on the other hand is still an arogant twit but he is a bit more "humanized" or "kreeized" whatever you want to call it. Either way you see more pathos in why he does what he does. He is like the kree version of Captain America and The Punisher all in one. Still trying to figure out why they let the annihilation army work out a terms of peace. Oh well I think they will address that later since it has a few spin off series coming.
Not to mention it puts alot of content without ripping off the buyers by replaying the same scenes from other books (Like scenes from Spidey being cut and pasted into scenes from FF).
The only thing I didn't like was Silver Surfer becoming the Herald of Galactus again. It seemed like it went against his character but it's a minor complaint.
Marvel puts some good stuff out on the fringes where Bendis and his ilk pay little attention.

I only liked 2 of the original series: Super Skrull and Nova. Ronan was bland, as well as Surfer. I do like the character of Ravenous. Thanos will be content for awhile, now that his main lady is with him. Who would have thought that Drax had it in him?

I don't know Thanos has to compete for Deaths affections with Deadpool among others (Didn't Death say Annihilus knows her "intimately").  :P
Apparently in the Marvel U Death is quite the catch lol.

Unless you're Franklin Richards.

I'd like to take the opportunity to remind everyone that the adjective form of "Kree" is "Kreevian."

Also, this sounds like a phenomenal story. How many issues and how many series are involved, though?

I think, technically, both "Kree" and "Kreeevian" are acceptable adjectives. The number of times I've seen phrases along the lines of "It will take more than that to defeat a true Kree warrior!"...

Annihilation is being released in three TPB. Prologue consists of I think six, 4 (Silver Surfer, Thanos, Drax, Nova, Super Kree, Ronan)  issue mini series. Followed by a 6 part Annihilation mini series which takes place directly after the mini's.

I think the reason that annihalation wasent "huge" is that not everyone digs space opera and DC has better known space titles than Marvel. It's a shame too, I hate everything set in space but annihalation was excelent, then again Im a huge silver surfer fan. Yeah, I know, that's a space comic but I prefer it over say X-men in space or avengers in the kree skrull war or whatnot.

Annihilation was awesome, but I think it gets less notice than Civil War because it involved characters that just aren't as well known or cared about by most people.  Silver Surfer returning to be Galactus' herald just doesn't motivate discussion like Spider-man unmasking at a press conference.

Either that or those who have read it don't want to complain about it in fear that Marvel will stop the re-emergence of the cosmic characters. Besides this event the only comic book event I've liked recently is 52 and that kinda pittered away near the end.
Why did they have to kill The Question! Just when his character was becoming popular again they kill him  :banghead:
I think the reason this event worked is because it isn't trying to redefine the Marvel Universe like Civil War, Heroes Reborn, Onslaught, Age of Apocolypse, and etc etc etc. That and any story that has a well written Thanos as a villain is tops in my book.

Annihilation is/was awesome!  Personally I think Civil War shouldn't have happened and the superheroes of the world should have been roped into this event in the first place. Especially since the Nova Corps gets, well, you know. And then there was the one thing with that stuff that was freaking awesome. The superheroes of Earth could have been assets during the whatchamacallit at the one place against it.
