Hey guys just wondering which keyframes can be used with the male_cape_nobelt mesh with "breaking" it, ie detaching the cape from the mesh. The standard mesh keyframes are a bit meh.

Previsionary

any "male_cape" kfs can be used. You can find some on NPI. I'm not sure if it accepts more. You might wanna check the readme or try some tests.

Renegade's Superman keyframes work...and I think the keyframes he used on his Invincible mesh work on just about every mesh I've ever tried them on whether they have a cape or not.

I could have sworn those Superman kfs didn't work. I'll try again.

Well, I maybe it's the booze talking here...but I swear I've gotten Renegade's male_basic_Superman kfs to work on some caped meshes that the male_cape_Superman kfs didn't work on. So try both versions. If not, as I said, Renegade's Invincible kfs seem to work on almost every kind of mesh...except for vx meshes. Also, Grenadier has a bunch of good male_cape kfs.

It's nice to know that Renegade also makes keyframes. I've been using one of Grenadier's male_cape keyframes sets (found at http://www.newpowerinc.com/ )

I'm trying to customize a set for a male_belt_effects based character, but it's a bit time-consuming. Of course, they do look a bit better. :)

Aaaargh ... the Superman REN and Invincible REN keyframes work, but they still detach the cape (ie the main body animates, the cape just hangs in mid-air).

Anyone got any suggestions or fixes? I'd really like to use some spiffier keyframes for character like Supernova, Graviton, etc

USAgent

did you try converting the keyframes using the nif converter to get rid of the detached cape problem?
I can send you the keyframes I'm using for my mesh, im not sure where they are from but they may suit your needs.

Ill go ahread and send them off anyway to ya.

I don't think male_cape_nobelt is compatible with much else. If you just want a guy with a cape, you might be better off using a different mesh entirely. I think male_alpha works with male_cape keyframes, as does tom_versatile.

The original male_cape_nobelt was pretty much an entity to itself, although there were a few meshes like the dr_fate mesh used the same keyframes.   There was a later male_cape_nobelt that uses the usual male_cape keyframes.

As to Renegade's Superman meshes keyframes... it works with a few other meshes (like his Captain Marvel).  It won't work with with male_cape, but he released a set of male_cape keyframes with the same animations.

Jakew

Hi Kenn ... I may have the original male_cape_nobelt mesh, which would be why other keyframes aren't working. Do you have a link to the later male_cape_nobelt mesh?

The later version you speak of was Grenadier's male_cape_nobelt...which I have not been able to find since his website went down. So what I do is use one of his Vision meshes and hex off the collar and belt. The keyframes I mentioned in earlier posts work with that mesh because even though you  end up with a male_basic mesh plus a cape...it looks exactly like male_cape_nobelt.

If you're unable to hex-edit then send me PM me with an e-mail address and I'll hook you up.
