Ok guys, people say what when you know more you have more questions.

well, I do have!

I hope you can made some thing more clear for me.

1: I have a lot of characters for  :ff: what will happen if I install  :ffvstr: I will lost all that characters or the herofiles of that characters? very confusing, worryed and fearly of install  :ffvstr: here.

2: what is the herofiles what end in .py or 25 something, from were that coming from??

3: Herofiles: I'm traying to do some. what is the "arc" in this screen:

http://s54.photobucket.com/albums/g90/cmucha/?action=view&current=1.jpg
what exactly "arc" meants in the game???

4: How I convert mesh/herofiles/skins/etc from  :ff: to  :ffvstr: ???
5: how many mesh exist from  :ff: what CAN'T BE converted to  :ffvstr:  ?? A LOT? a few?

6: more questions coming.  :P

1. Don't worry.  :ffvstr: does not affect  :ff: at all. The two games are completely separate, and install in different directories.

2. Those files are used by the FFX add-on. The .py files are used to store extra information that FFX uses with some characters. The .m25 files are for the customized AI. The manual that comes with FFX explains them in more detail.

3. "Arc" means that the attack can hit several enemies in the same area at once. The higher the number, the larger the area the attack will cover.

4. For meshes, use the EZ Nif Converter at http://alexff.com/goodies.php
Skins don't need to be converted.
Hero files are mostly fine, but you'll have to change each one so that it points to the  :ffvstr: mesh directory instead of the  :ff: one. I usually just change the directory path myself using a hexadecimal editor, but Mr. Brdo's Hero Tool will do the job as well.

5. Almost all meshes can be converted.

CarlosMucha

very clear! thanks.

Mr. Brdo's Hero Tool??

I don't have problem changing myself the directory but afther 500 characters is a lot!, lol if with that sofware Ican do it faster I think will be great.

now what exactly is Mr. Brdo's Hero Tool and were I can get that ??

another questions:

7 - were I download the FFX add-on. or all what I need to download to have working the the FFX add-on??

8- how many versions of FFX exist and witch I should download??

9 - how I know what a mesh can't be converted to  :ffvstr: ?? I will see only a bix white box or I will notice what it will not work in another way? (just for be sure)

10: why when I use the Alex's EZ hero utility and I try to open  :ffvstr: herofiles i receive this error??: "run time error 52 bad file name or number".

11 :ffvstr: use another kind of hero utility???

USAgent

You can get FFX here: http://www.mike.va.com.au/
go to the "downloads" section and download all that is there (1.2 patch if you dont have it, FFX 2.3, 2.4, 2.6)

As for what meshes cant be converted, out of the nearly 10,000 meshes/hexes/skopes out there I only came across 5 that I had in my collection so most likely all of yours should work, I think the only ones I couldnt convert are Vengence and a few of Beyonder's Male_basic_hair meshes.

MrBrdo's hero utility works the best with  :ffvstr: hero files. I cant get Alex's to work either. But Mrbrdo's was still made for  :ff:, so It isnt totally compatable with FFV3R hero files.

http://www.erenumerique.fr/images/jeux/20050311/Freedom1.jpg

that is something what just FFvs3R have?? because I can do that way to see the game on FF1.

Previsionary, sorry about that, sinse english is not my first lenguage sometimes I don't get everything right, and in the end I don't want to ask in the same thread "what?", add to that what I always very hurry to know everything as faster as I can  :P and double post or threads happen to me, I will try to keep all a little down.

Boalt92 thanks for the link. soo still looking for the MrBrdo's edit tool  :(

Ok, I just download the Alex nif converter and I get the  :ffvstr: !

12- I need to converter ALL the nif files of each characrer OR only the ones what made the game get off when I try to use it? My question is because maybe the characters looks ok in the  :ffvstr: without be converted but I don't know if I don't converted the character anyways maybe something don't work in the future. soo, is necesary convert all the nif?

13- in the converted they ask me if i want to convert the keyflames as well, if that necesary as well always? the question is important because I want to begin to convert all my characters to  :ffvstr:

14- WERE is the storage of the herofiles on  :ffvstr: ??? insisde what folder??  (I need to know that for know were I have to put the herofiles what I already have)

No you dont have to convert all the meshes, some do work without being converted.  But I did convert ALL of my meshes, since I had over 1000 I didnt want to have to check out every one just to see if it worked and I never had any issues with any of them after converting them.  For me about 75% of my meshes DID NOT work and needed converted so I just did them all.  With the Nif converter you have, you can convert all the meshes at once or one at a time, but I dont recommend doing them all at once because some might not get converted, I did about 20 at a time when I did it.

Quote13- in the converted they ask me if i want to convert the keyflames as well, if that necesary as well always? the question is important because I want to begin to convert all my characters to  :ffvstr:
A very small number of keyframes need converted, you dont have to convert them.  If you come across a messed up keyframe you can always go back and reconvert the mesh along with the keyframes, there were a few meshes with capes floating off the bodies or weapons floating off the mesh that needed keyframe converting.
