I have a geforce 7800 GS 256mb video card and I "might" be having heating issues with it. I was thinking about using this "problem" as an excuse to upgrade. My mobo is a Asus Av8 Deluxe so I don't think I can use a PCI gpu or can I? My budget would be no more than $300. What would be a decent card, one that is worth upgrading to from a 78000?

I bit the bullet and ordered a XFX GeForce 7950 GT / 512MB GDDR3 / AGP 8x / DL Dual DVI / HDTV / Video Card from Tigerdirect. Hope I made a good choice.

The 7950 are good cards.  As for that 7800 do you have fans in your PC?

I ordered and already installed four vantec tornado fans. These jet engines are super loud but move massive amounts of air. I just reformatted but encountered four "blue screens of death" within five minutes after the reformat. I put in my old 6600 which almost made me cry, I was really looking foward to the power of the new 9750. So far no reboots, so I was wondering if maybe my old 7800 and the new 9750 is not getting enough power and that is why the comp is rebooting? I checked to see if the power cable feeding the video card is by itself and it was not. It was sharing power with one of the fans. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but tommorrow I will tinker with it some more but man that will be awesome if that is the problem.
