I'd probably go for buying a korean multi-region system because it should allow you to collect a rather large collection (US + Overseas) of games.

I just got news from EA Games that Spore has been "pushed back indefinitly" due to some issues with it working fine with Windows XP SP2 but crashing horribly when used on any Vista machine (they discovered that any patches they were using to fix this incompatibility issue just made things worse) . This has caused a major panic attack with EA because they were counting on it being the "big hit" of E3 and selling tons during the upcoming holiday season. They might be able to fix things in the next 6 months or so but rumors are running amok that a possible Spring 2008 release is the best they can hope for if they still want to keep good sales.

Plus it looks like many Wii games are coming along with huge improvements with remote sensitivity including another sequel to Wii Games concentrating on Carnival Games (shooting gallery, dart throwing, skeeball rolling, ball toss, etc).

Depends on how long you're planning to stay in Korea. Anything over a year and I'd say just go for the Japanese Wii (boy, that sounds dirty). You can always just get a second-hand North America-coded Wii that allows network functionality when you move back to Canada.
